Ok Hotel but not for 5 star category
It's an ok hotel if you want to live in downtown. However this is definitely not a 5 star property. It was one maybe 30 yearrs back. Surroundings o the hotel are very dirty. Hotel bathooms need a much needed update. There is no seperate shower and bathtub was not that clean. I had to call housekeeping as the water wouldn't go away. Breakfast buffet is good however if you compare to other 5 star properties there is much room for improvement. Staff is very friendly and tries to make up for all though.

Goed hotel, schoon, ontbijt was prima , personeel is correct. Kamer was goed met koffie en thee. Airco maakt vervelende geluid en knipperen van van brandbeveiliging lampjes beide zorgde voor onrustige slaapsituatie

I am not sure if the hotel had a fitness room. Breakfast was ok. They should allow guests to get their own coffee and tea. It’s inconvenient to wait for waitresses to bring you the drinks. They were slow.

Hotel très agréable mais très bruyant
Hotel très confortable mais qui ne sert pas d'alcool. De même la présence de femmes voilées intégralement ne permet pas décemment pour les femmes de profiter de la piscine.... L'hôtel étant dans la ville, les extérieurs sont extrêmement bruyants la journée par la circulation automobile et les claxons incéssants, et la nuit des hordes de chiens aboyent environ 5 fois par nuit ...

Generally you won’t expect much in Cairo. Safir does provide a decent place for travellers and with good services. Breakfast buffet was decent and comprehensive. While it’s 3 streets away from River Nile, I would say the area is comparably good already - after all you can’t compare it will four seasons or Sofitel.

Nossa estadia foi maravilhosa. Recebemos frutas e docinhos de boas vindas. O quarto era grande, camas e travesseiros confortáveis. Excellent location and excellent staff. Buffet breakfast and dinner were very good with a great variety of healthy foods plus many desserts. We ate at the hotel every day. There is some noise from outside street car horns and barking dogs. It did not affect our sleep.

Only stayed for a couple of hours due to flying in late, but a nice hotel in the middle of the city. Front staff were nice and what you expect from a hotel of this type

Ashraf Wefky welcomed us and checked us in! His hospitality was much appreciated and he even sent us some fruits and sweets as a welcome gift! Such a nice man. We had some questions about the fridge and AC and they came and addressed them right away!! As for breakfast, there were many different items to choose from. We had a nice stay!
