Had to collect keys at home from home at 10 hospital road. When we checked I. At the Rockwell the Room was not cleaned. The arockwell said it was a private room and they had to call home from home to clean. It’s a problem as the phone in the room doesn’t work so you have to go to reception and they have to contact homefromhome. They eventually arrived to clean the room and then offered us a smaller room??? We waited another 30 minutes for them to clean and then when we got in the room the curtains and rail was lying on the floor half broken, This took another bout of going back to reception and another hour to fix the rail. They only provide one key and tag and you need a tag to get in and out th elevators and doors so this is inconvenient as we were four in a two bedroom apartment. Balcony was wet with water build up from the air on unit. All in all a terrible experience.

This would have been a 5 star rating if the WiFi had worked. The room was very modern, and had a great vibe to it. We were in room 907, and the views were amazing. You could see Table Mountain, and it was so beautiful to have coffee in the morning on the deck. There was a nice kitchenette, and living room with a TV and couch, as well as a dining table. The bed was comfy, but the bathroom was a bit small. We have traveled to other countries where small bathrooms are the norm, so that wasn’t too bad. The shower didn’t have doors that closed all the way, so we had to consistently put towels on the floor to help absorb all of the water splashing out. Now the WiFi.... IT DIDNT WORK AT ALL. The listing is advertised to have WiFi in each room, but the WiFi name and password we were I struced to connect to was Metro908. Which led me to believe that the WiFi was meant for unit 908, and they were trying to save money by having us connect to the other units WiFi. Although it showed as connected, you might as well not have had any WiFi. When I’m on vacation, I like to look at my maps to get walking directions to different locations, go on Yelp to find restaurants, and look through my emails to make sure I can review the details of anything I have booked. I wasn’t able to do any of this! Thank goodness for the security guards downstairs who were nice enough to give us their WiFi password. I wouldn’t book again solely due to the lack of WiFi.

AVOID! Terrible experience!!
At first, everything seemed good. Then, there were many problems. 1st: check in address is different from what is on hotels.com 2nd: wifi never worked. Even though someone came to fix it, they must have left without testing it, as it was connected alright but to nothing. There was no wifi, which was very inconvenient to tourists who rely heavily on wifi for finding info. 3rd : bathroom gets flooded after a short shower 4th: worst of all, the address wasn’t even what we booked, but we had no idea at the moment. What you book isn’t what you get. I travel a lot, and this was probably one of the worst stays I have ever had.

Great location and safe, quiet, beautiful apartment, fully equipped. Very reasonable and would definitely stay here again. In addition, Sharon from Home from Home whom own some of these apartments was very helpful and allowed us to us their computer to check in online the day before our flight and printed off our boarding passes. I don't know what we would have done without her help as it's so difficult to enter the details airlines want on your mobile phone. So a huge thank you to Sharon for her help. Thus customer service was great. In addition the lady on reception in the hotel allowed us to use her telephone to ring our car rental company as my phone didn't work in Sth Africa. Most helpful!

Best of the best in De Waterkant.
This must be one of the best staying places in De Waterkant. Has by far the best location and restaurants in the area. You also feel very safe walking in the streets. The room is excellent and good quality furniture. The kitchen has everything you need for a long or short stay. Well done to Management and staff for keeping a high standard. The hotel has a indoor pool and gym.

Excellent stay, only problem was regarding payment
The overall stay was amazing and everything was good. The only issue was regarding payment where my account was debited twice(first 50% on the day of the booking) then ( 100% on the day of the stay). The first person I initialy spoke to was very rude and impatient, then I spoke to Juan(not sure of spelling of the name) but he really asissted me and was very friendly, although the refund could not be done on the day as he had left already when i checked in. The offices though are difficult to find😒

We really liked the location & the view of Table Mountain. We also appreciated the set up of the apartment. We were a tad shocked that most essential of appliances - a coffee maker was absent. Even the cheapest room has a coffee maker. Staff did try to compensate with instant coffee but that is rather unpleasant stuff.

The location was superb. Excellent security. Fantastic guess services and housekeepers. Very responsive staff. Only con was the street noise and lack of privacy from the balcony. It was a 1st level apt.

Perfect Destination with Super View
The apartment at Metropolis had all what a business traveller required, from all amenities that one can think off, high speed Wifi, Nespresso Machine, AirCon and a secure parking bay. The apartment was clean, serviced daily and the bonus was surely the spectacular view of Table Mountain, Lions Head and Signal Hill. Walking Distance to Green Point Main Road, a Cafe with necessary household goods and food next door and a super-friendly reception / security. On the downside we could only note that there was only Liquorice Coffee Capsules for the Nespresso machine available, not everybody's taste and electricity ran out twice due to not enough loaded on prepaid meter. We will be back, surely!

Quick/ easy check-in, although at a different location from where apartment is located. Within walking distance to many restaurants and nearby attractions. House cleaning staff - who we did not want and asked not to clean in the first place - went through luggage removing multiple items; manager was both unapologetic and insinuated that it was somehow our fault. Room was small, furniture uncomfortable, and beds were small. Free and fast wifi. Overall, would not recommend.

De Waterkant is a nice area, reasonably secure but I would advise travellers to be wary at night. Security guards on the door to the apartments strongly advise getting cabs and will order one for you. Uber is strong everywhere because of this. You will check in at an apartment block down the end of the street, not in Prestwich street itself and then be escorted to the hotel complex. The ride, arranged by the hotel, to and from the airport is between 300-350 rand. (17-20 pounds) Cape Quarter Shopping Mall is a street away and there are lots of little cafes and bars just beyond the main road which crosses from the Cape Town centre to Sea Point ( a ten to fifteen minute walk) The V&A waterfront is also a ten minute stroll away.

AVOID: Flat looks into an inner court/street across from offices - after 9am office workers look at you having coffee. A restaurant is right below the flat - its huge ventilation tube goes via the balcony and you can hear its noise until 10pm. Next door there is another "luxury flat" building site so during the day there loud noise. In summary: overpriced product of Cape Town's real estate greed & tourist boom...

Great apartment in close proximity to attractions
We stayed in the Dockside apartment on Mechau Street, the apartment block seems to be a mixture of private owned and rented out for holiday homes run by various companies. We collected out keys from Harbour Edge just round the corner in Hospital Street, staff were friendly and stored our luggage until check-in time as we got there early. Later on the staff escorted us over to the apartment and gave us a tour round. Our apartment was very clean, well kitted out - including the kitchen. A cleaner came in every day and we thought they did an excellent job. Beds were very comfy and the sofa ! The only criticism about this location is the weekend noise. We were on the 9th floor and outside my window was Buitengracht Street - you can hear the traffic quite clearly at night and from Thursday to Sunday in the late hours, I could hear music from a bar somewhere clear enough to know the tracks played ! I could not fault the apartment itself, its one of the best I've stayed in, but if you don't like noise, the location is something to consider.

Apartment mit Ausblick
Wir bekamen ein Apartment mit 2 Schlafzimmern im 12.Stock und hatten einen wunderbaren Ausblick über den Hafen aufs Meer. Die Einrichtung war komplett und ansprechend, im Bad zeigten sich allerdings Abnutzungsspuren. Insgesamt war es aber sehr sauber und sicher, auch der Parkplatz im Parkhaus des Gebäudes. Schlecht war, dass das Internet bei 3 gebuchten Nächten nur am letzten Tag und nach zweimaliger Reklamation funktionierte.

Felt a bit like home
When I stay in a city more than 2-3 days, I like to rent an appartment. It’s nice to be able to prepare breakfast, sit in the living room. The condo has a private parking spot as well as security checking your ins and outs.

TOP-moderne Apartments unweit der V&A-Waterfront
Wir waren 4 Nächte im Metropolis, 6. Etage. Sehr schöne Aussicht auf den "Lionshead" und den Tafelberg. Sehr moderne Ausstattung und guter Service. Die Gegend am Tage ok, zum Shopping Waterfront ca. 20 min zu Fuß. Zum Parlamentsgebäude in der Innenstadt etwa das Gleiche. Etwas laut, da sich eine große Strasse vor dem Gebäude befindet. Die Abholung vom Flughafen hat gegen Gebühr (fast) reibunsglos funktioniert.

Zentrale Lage mit Blick auf den Tafelberg
Wer frühstückt schon auf dem Balkon mit Blick auf Table Mountain? Hier ist es möglich. Wir hatten ein kleines Appartment, das für drei P mehr als ausreichend war. Alles war sehr sauber. Manche Möbel allerdings schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Gestört hat das nicht. Küche mit allem, was man braucht, ausgestattet.

Pros: +Spotless suite +DWK staff went out of their way to deliver additional perks since I am a VIP member +Full sized fridge and big kitchen +Bars just downstairs +Just a 10 min walk to Greenmarket Sq +Spacious rooms Cons: -Check in was a block or two away (but staff walked to assist in room check in) -A little sketchy area in the evening despite being right across a school -Upstairs bathroom only has tub and no shower ( a shower would be much more convenient) -Internet was hard to connect the first few hours

Problems at check-in. Was asked first to pay again on arrival for a smaller appertment. After discussion this request was then dropped. Booked appartment was not available. Upgrade to penthouse appartment for 2 days. Then moving to booked appartment. Check in and Front desk at Rockwell was not assisting for appartment. Had to go at other hotel to get information check-out etc.. Communication was very bad. Appartments ok but leaking shower and loose taps.

Disappointment
Did not get the type of room we booked. Should have been Double and 2 Twin beds. Got 2 Double. Top room double bed base is broken. Bottom bathroom shower doar leaking, toilet flusher out of order. Customer service promised spare bedding for couch as 2 male guests could not sure double bed and we are still waiting on the bedding. Check in was confusing.

Good central location to city attractions
Great spot to stay and walk to Cape Town city's top attractions, restaurants and night life. De Waterkant is a relatively safe area. The apartment was a great and comfortable location for a city break.

Camareira Desonesta, fomos furtados.
Não recomendamos para ninguém. FOMOS ROUBADOS pela camareira. Chamamos a polícia e não deu em nada!! Só nos gerou um transtorno enorme. Em toda minha vida, nunca tinha passado por uma experiência tão desagradável. O hotel não se dispôs em repor o valor e a polícia ficou de investigar. Muito chato. Não recomendo.

We did our internal investigations regarding the money which allegedly went missing from your apartment while you were staying with us and the results came back as follows: After intensive internal investigations including polygraph tests, we did not get any evidence that any of our employees took the money, we unfortunately could not blame any of our staff members without enough evidence that they did take the money. We are a team dedicated to continue offering excellent value and service to all our guest and prides ourselves in ethical business principles, we hope you will give us another chance in the near future when visiting Cape Town. Issues with accepting cards
This is a nice apartment, but unfortunately because it is on a low floor, you get the conversation and the grill smells from below if you sit in the balcony. Also no wine glasses. Warning: they do not accept Amex (Expedia does, but you can't pay the outstanding balance with Amex). It was a big drama to pay, as I had to use the same card which I booked with (Amex), which they did not accept. Wanted me to get the money from a cash point, which I refused to do. In the end a manager had to come to authorise the staff to accept my Amex card.

Good location for V&A Waterfront
Disappointed that the accommodation allocated was not what or where we booked. Check in location in a completely different accommodation. Apartments were not the ones on the voucher - this caused confusion with our ore booked airport transfer. Standard nothing like what is shown on the website.

Convenient and central location
Please note that the check in is on HOSPITAL street and it seems like google map has a wrong location making the reception hard to find. The place has no A/C and got quite hot although there was a fan. Spacious enough for two but not suited for more than two.
