Terrible
This apartment should be fine, the location is lovely as is the view. The apartment is poorly maintained. The management company all but ruined our holiday and the treatment we received was unprofessional and distressing. Their welcome letter says “We care and want you to have a good experience” - this could not be further from our actual experience. We have stayed in a good many holiday apartments, and this was by far our worst experience.
Firstly, and most importantly, we were left in an unsecured apartment (broken patio door lock) with no working safe for the duration of our holiday. No one at FZP seemed to be bothered that they had left a family with children in such an unsafe position. I sincerely hope this has been fixed now for anyone else staying there.
According to our welcome letter the “host is the your most important contact person during your stay”. Our ‘host’ Beverley was very late meeting us on check in and the apartment not ready. Then she not to be seen or heard from for the majority of our holiday, she ignored all our communication after day 2.
This is a list of issues we experienced in the apartment...
No access to the safe (it was locked)
Patio door did not lock
Shower room door didn’t close or lock.
Bathroom door handle fell off - my son got stuck in the bathroom
Blinds in the front bedroom did not work
Light bulbs out in the bathroom and front bedroom (dark dark rooms)
Main bedroom window would not open (in the middle of summer)
Shower head was broken and fell off on day 2
Baby cot was FILTHY
Washing machine did not spin the clothes - I had to wring washing out by hand.
Ironing board burnt through
Iron burnt and had exposed wires
Bedside lamp was broken
Wardrobe door in bedroom was falling off
Just 6 clothes hangers in the whole apartment
Sealant mouldy in bathrooms and kitchen
Kitchen floor is rotten.
Barely a handful of issues were fixed while we were there. The management company blamed the public holiday for not fixing things, but that was just 2 days of our 10 stay. NONE of these issues should have been present had the apartment been better maintained. All are easily rectified, they have just chosen not to. We spent a small fortune on (international) calls trying to get things fixed. Eventually we gave up.
By direct comparison, we had family staying at another apartment in Lagoon Beach run by another company. Their host was early so he could check their apartment, everything worked. Simple.
