The hotel is just opposite Deal's beautiful beach - if you get a sea view room you'll catch the sunrise. It's not a luxury hotel! - but was functional, clean and a great option for a weekend at a festival in neighbouring town Margate. 'We are a group of 8 ladies enjoying a weekend away and we had a wonderful weekend at Downs Cottage. 'Good for a short stay. Has everything you need, but it’s a rather small room. There’s a folding table and there’s only one chair so you have to sit on the bed. The heating was on a schedule such that at night the temperature in the house was around 6 degrees giving me a backache until I asked the owner to keep the temperature at a constant 23 degrees.
