Stay in a castle
Accommodation is in well furnished self catering or modern rooms. This is not a hotel. Access and parking is convoluted and is not ideal for those with mobility problems. Rooms are accessed via a staircase. Room to room noise is evident and Saturday night is lively across the road until midnight. Breakfast is served at the 1176 restaurant and is very good with friendly staff and good locally sourced ingredients. There is nearby street parking for blue badge holders but would not recommend accommodation for wheelchair users

Staying in a castle was great fun. The accommodation was quirky with a comfortable room, good ensuite and large kitchen. Stairs to bedroom were worn stone so needed careful navigation. Accessing the car park is not for the nervous. Help was quickly available when required. Breakfast was delicious. I recommend the smoked salmon and scrambled egg on sourdough.

Staff were awesome. Room was large , bright and very clean. Since we were staying on the castle site we could tour the castle buildings and site at no extra cost. The breakfasts at the attached restaurant were excellent as was the service. Would definitely stay here again and strongly recommend it to others.

Conveniently located in the middle of town. Spacious room. Check in advance for any events they are hosting, no one mentioned a live band performance on the Tuesday night which was right next to our room and extremely loud.

Top venue with excellent sized room (stables). Staff were excellent in advance (Jonathan), did a fantastic job at dealing with requests for allergies etc. breakfast top class. Parking amble, it’s an old castle so expect it to be narrow with lots of stone walls! Room had everything required, including the wine glasses and iron.

Great hotel, but best to arrive before 4pm!
This is a great little hotel with new, clean, rooms, but it's not clear from the descriptions exactly what you're getting. The stable is very unusual because the bathroom and kitchen are in a separate locked area from the bedroom area. The arrival email needs more details about how to navigate to the parking area how to access keys for The Stable apartment, and how to adjust the heating temperature. We had a lot of frustration upon arrival since it was after 4:00 p.m. and we had no one to help us. Nor did they answer the phone. We also had no heat the first night because we were unsure how to set the complex thermostat. Fortunately we sorted it out. But better information and better instructions would have improved our stay immensely.

Eu tive um problema com a chegada, no e-mail de reserva estava 20:00 h . Eu estava viajando pelo país e não tinha como olhar e-mail todos os dias. Mandara Outro e-mail com horário de 16:00 para checkin com instruções de entrada , porem parecia um cofre de banco para descobrir a maneira de entrar e achar a chave. Fora isso é um lugar muito agradável o café da manhã é otimo . Voltaria, agora já sei o segredo .

Lovely accommodation, the stables was more like staying in a suite than a hotel room. Very comfortable beds, plenty of space. Lovely fresh breakfast. Friendly staff. Fabulous location.

We sprayed in Y Copa, a spacious, well equipped room in this unique property. The breakfast was excellent. A couple of warnings. Y Copa is at the top of two flights of stairs, so not ideal if you have any accessibility issues. Also, there are low beans which are hazardous to anyone over 6 ft tall.

Very nice stay.
Lovely room. Y copa is like an attic room. Plenty of complimentary tea and coffee and hot chocolate. Car park very very tight to get into. Had to manoeuvre the car so was at right angle to get it. The one way system doesnt match the gateway which makes it difficult not hotels fault just advice future guests. Breakfast was very nice and very good quality! Hotel situated in the town centre so you can walk to most things which is good for the carpark issue

Beautiful accommodation in stunning surroundings. River one side and a castle the other. Good breakfast choices. Central for wandering around Cardigan's shops. Couldn't fault anything.

Really lovely BnB. We stayed 4 nights in Ty Copa and had a wonderful time. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Lovely bed linen very large bathroom set in beautiful castle grounds. A lovely welcome from very friendly and accommodating staff. The room was extremely comfortable with delightful facilities and the grounds were beautiful, set in the centre of Cardigan. Our two night stay was a highlight of our week away.

Lovely hotel, really nicely decorated with fantastic service. The place was really clean. Breakfast was lovely too. My only issue was that the mattress was very hard which made it a little uncomfortable, but everything else was great!

We arrived a bit after 4 pm but the restaurant staff called for help (Andrew?) and he escorted us to our lovely room. He also explained the location of breakfast (using the stairs).

Dissatisfied not an accurate description
The description is Cardigan Castle showing pictures of the seat in the castle. It is not the castle it is a building next door which has been decorated to a decent standard although some flaking paintwork and black mould on tiles in shower area. Checkin says 2-9 it is not. A shop next door is open from 10 to 4 after which you have to find a locking box with a key in. You receive an email direct from the property a few days before your stay. It gives some description but had someone not come out of the restaurant asking if I was ok I would not have found it. The names on the locking boxes are in Welsh well I'm not from Wales so again would not have known what they meant. In addition once the castle is locked you have to trek on the streets from the car park to the accommodation around the walls of the castle. Not an easy check in. When I arrived the car park was full so again doesn't accommodate for the amount of rooms. I comment to the restaurant staff regarding the difficulty finding things and was told this is an ongoing problem but the owners dont listen. I feel this place is being described as something it's not and certainly the check in times is inaccurate.

Very confusing to find where to park and where reception was. When I was finally let in to the reception area, it was as if I was an inconvenience. The woman gave me the key, walked me across to the front door of the building, and said the room was at the top of the steps. I was provided minimal information and felt quite isolated. The gates lock so if you want to get to your car at night, you have to walk around the walls and walk into the car park gate; I was very glad I didn't have to do so. I thought it would be fun to stay in a castle, but the charm was minimal and wound up rather inconvenient.

Overall I very much liked the room, the location, the proximity of a good restaurant. My only complaints had to do with noise - since my room was right above and next to the kitchen, there was banging and rattling up to 9 pm every night. Also, the door at street level did not have an automatic closer, so every time someone went in and out the door banged very loudly.

Something a little different
Great quirky stay within old parts of the more modern construction within the castle walls. Not a typical castle, but great renovation and story behind it. Room was excellent in the old roof space with great amenities. Free visit into the castle and an amazing breakfast served in the adjoining castle owned restaurant.

The check-in was slightly chaotic as we didn't know where or how to park. They asked us to pay when the money had been applied for from my accont 2 days before we arrrived which rather surprised me. The room is lovely, modern and clean. We had a bit of a rude awakening when a maintenance team tried to get in unannounced at 8.00am. Breakfast is lovely but if you like decent food don't bargain on finding anywhere to eat in Cardigan on a Sunday evening.

Large well equipped twin room with sette two chairs and good clothes storage . Large bathroom with walkin shower . Acess is up a steep staircase, the room has few windows with a very limited view to the front . Bathroom has a limited view of the castle garden
