  • Mooi natuurstenen landhuis, rustig en panoramisch gelegen op het land in de buurt van Lucca. Het huis heeft twee verdiepingen en is netjes gerestaureerd met behoud van de oorspronkelijke architectonische kenmerken en zeer smaakvol ingericht met zeer veel aandacht voor de details. Het huis ligt dichtbij het herenhuis maar is geheel vrijstaand en er is een grote tuin en een mooi privé zwembad. Kleine huisdieren zijn toegestaan.
    Afstanden: het dorp Orentano met kruideniers 1,5 km, Altopascio met allerlei winkels 5 km, Lucca 15 km, Pisa (vliegveld) ong. 40 km, Florence (vliegveld) ong. 55 km, Montecatini, bekend plaatsje met thermale baden en golfbanen 15 km, de kust van Versilia (met brede stranden) ong. 40 km.
    Ter beschikking van de gasten: privé tuin met stoelen, tafels, ligstoel, parasol, groot privé zwembad met ligstoelen (14 x 6 m – minimale diepte 1,4 m - max. diepte 1,8 m – open van 25/04 tot 15/10), veranda, barbecue, tafeltennis.

La casa está muy bien situada, aunque nos costó un poco encontrarla, porque no aparecia el nombre de Villa Fontine A pesar de esto volveríamos. We have not used the pool but it was a nice and very large one, ideal for a large family. The house is well located, though it has not been easy to find it because the name Villa Fontine was not indicated in signs...in spite of this, we will return.

When we arrived at your villa we were surprised by the enormous space in- and outside the villa. It even looks a lot better than on the pictures on the website. The rooms were very clean and the enormous garden including a large swimming pool are maintained excellent. We liked especially the privacy, the swimming pool and the large terrace. We also made frequently use of the montainbikes and the ping-pong table. During our stay we visited Bientina (not so interesting), Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Viareggio, Montecatini and Montecarlo (very nice village on a hill). The owner Angela and her daughter Silvia were very kind and helpful. Overall we have had a wonderful time. Fam. van de Vorst, Netherlands

The Villa Fontine, aka Villa Niccolai, is a tremendous property, with excellent comforts, exquisite grounds, and a pastoral location. It is a very authentic Tuscan villa, looking small from the outside but is open and spacious inside. Multiple outdoor dining locations are available: poolside, under a new poolside curtained gazebo, in the garden, or under the porch awning. The owners, Angela (mother) and Sylvia (daughter), were gracious, warm, and welcoming. We did a special dinner with a chef the first night and it was divine. It is a great space for kids ages 4 and up (for younger tots, there are lots of stone stairs and the pool is not fenced), with plenty of room to run around outside. Only a few slight negatives: wifi isn't very strong so must stay close to host's house (no signal on porch or at pool); neighboring roosters start calling at 4:30 am, an authentic but not ordered wake-up call; the owner's house is very close to the villa, but owners not intrusive at all; gardening commences at 7 am or earlier each morning. Overall, it was a magnificent place to stay.

It is much larger in person than the pictures really show on the website. It was terrific and set up great for multiple family situations. The large eat in kitchen was tremendous. We cooked 12 out of 14 nights in the villa. The local vendors really have great food choices to prepare. Angela and her son were fabulous. They made a few calls for us when we had trouble with the rental car and even gave us some homemade pasta sauce.

Convenient for flights into Pisa. Lots of accessible places to visit- Lucca, Pisa, Medici Villas, Florence. Lovely Villa good for families or groups as it has lots of good bathrooms. Bigger than usual pool and exclusvie use of large garden with BBQ area. Robin W. Scotland

The Villa is well located - just far enough off the A1 to assure the pleasure of rural Italy while close enough to good grocery shopping and tons of "tourist" things to do. The area has an unending variety of interesting things to do. We especially enjoyed driving the "back roads" in the area. The accomodations at the villa are wonderful. We were most appreciative of the one bedroom on the first level with wheelchair access, for one of our friends. The hosts, Lorenzo and his mother, were most gracious and very accomodating. The only difficult part of our stay was tearing ourselves away from the Villa each day to visit the local sights.

Very spacious, very clean, very beautiful inside and out. Great for kids- we have 5 kids (under 7) and they had a ball and we didn't feel like they were going to break things. If the pool had been clean and heated, we probably would have used it (we were there in mid-late April). The location was ok, although there's a lot of traffic in the surrouding areas.

The villa and the holiday was special - everything we wanted and more. The grounds were fantastic and very large. Days by the pool were relaxing. Ideally situated in Tuscany to reach all the sights. No shortage of nearby restaurants.
