An impressive and authentic family home with a beautiful garden, where you can spend hours in complete privacy. We stayed there with two families and children aged between 5 and 15. There's a lovely swimming pool where you can have lots of fun, beautiful spacious bedrooms with separate bathrooms, and a beautiful view of the surroundings. A charming village with a forno and a bar is within walking distance. The charming towns of Acqui Therme, Nieve, and Alba are easily accessible by car. More experienced cyclists will enjoy the beautiful cycling routes over hills and through vineyards. Unfortunately, the restaurant within walking distance was closed all week. One evening, we enjoyed dinner with Ann and her husband in the garden. The food and drinks were delicious.

Heerlijk verblijf, ontzettend gastvriendelijk en genoten van de extra service aan huis. Een heerlijk diner gehad, klaargemaakt door Ann en Joseph met fantastische wijnen! Echt een aanrader om vooraf wijn te bestellen, Joseph zijn kennis van wijn is uitmuntend. Voor rust en ontspanning, het ideale verblijf!

Great house, rural but not far from Alba

Lovely house, well-equipped and easily accommodating 10-12p. Ideal for 3 fams as the rooms on levels 1 and 2 have opposite bedrooms. Great pool on a nice 3-level garden with more than enough space. On the mezzanine level a fine terrass overlooking the hilly environment. We would certainly recommend the property!

We were staying with a group of very good friends. The house was great with beautiful views to the north. Castino is 30 minutes away from most of the places to see in the area. So we spent mornings traveling out to sightsee and evenings hanging around the villa cooking, drinking wine and telling stories. Joseph and Anne made us dinner one evening and it was an exceptional four-course meal. The kitchen is very well stocked with respect to utensils and tools for cooking. We also used the charcoal grill for cooking. The pool had been closed for the winter season, so we couldn't access it. We did go into Castino one evening for pizza at Momito's. The pizza was very good and the place was packed when we left. Unfortunately, the other restaurant in town seems to have closed. We did not venture out to nearby villages for meals. Overall the trip was wonderful, the villa suited our needs well and interaction with Anne was easy. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your house.

This was a very disappointing rental. First thing is that the directions to the location required considerable assistance to find the right location as the address listed does not take you to the right place. Further - lots of bees flies and bugs which require the use of very fragile screens for the windows and doors. The host do know it’s an issue as the property manager made a point to address this fragility in check in. After that - we were still charged nearly 10% of our rental cost to repair a screen which we never noticed or considered to be damaged nor had any opportunity to address. We did our walk through at the end of the rental and did not notice or register any anomalies yet we’re still charged based on their verbal claim. Lastly - the lower bedroom and bathroom have a significant moisture problem and smell of must. Dehumidifier has to run constantly and does not address the issue. Nice location but I would not recommend this rental.

This place was simply wonderful! Paradise in Piedmont. The villa was well equipped, comfortable with plenty of room for all. Joseph and Ann served us the most amazing gourmet dinner with wine. It was a glorious stay in Paradise!

Lovely place for family celebrations

The property is beautiful and spacious for our group of 8. The views are lovely. The kitchen is well equipped and the property manager couldn’t have been more helpful. Because it is very rural, there are limited places to eat and grocery shop nearby. The main restaurant was shut for the next 4 months as was the local pasta shop. The down side is that we had to drive a lot. However the lanscape Is stunning

Elegant villa with all the amenities of home

Annette’s villa is in a beautiful location overlooking a valley below. The rooms are very comfortable, the kitchen is supplied with all of the amenities to enjoy home cooked meals, and the grounds and pool are terrific to enjoy. Would highly recommend the meals prepared by Ann (the caretaker). We had a wonderful time and would surely return.

Farmhouse luxury.

Awesome views, great building with such character, lots of walks then hit the pool. Well equipped kitchen to make great meals. Very quiet. Dinner option with Ann & Joseph was fantastic. Recommend highly.

Wonderful and spacious house with very well equipped kitchen and large and comfortable bedrooms. Terrific mountain view, perfect outdoor areas and a superb pool. Nice short walk to Castino, a charming small town with most of what you need.

Perfect Italian holiday!

Our family (six adults) spent two wonderful weeks at Casa Annunziata recently. Like other reviewers we found the house was very clean and comfortable with several alfresco eating areas and an excellent outdoor pool area that we took full advantage of. After we ignored the directions provided (don’t use google maps!) Ann, the property manager patiently guided us to the house - literally stayed on the phone and gave us bend by bend instructions, and then provided a comprehensive intro to the house and grounds. We had requested some food and wine be purchased for our first evening and as a result there was great quality food and wine waiting (special thanks for the wine, Joseph!) We really appreciated the tranquility of the house location amongst the hazelnut groves and it’s proximity to historic Castino with lovely local walks nearby. Also appreciated the recommendations about local markets, restaurants, wine tastings etc. Of particular note were visits to Barolo, la Morra and Cortemelia - don’t miss la Corte de Cannobia for the best hazelnuts and icecream! and local visits to Francesco Scanavino and the Camo Museo a Cielo. Like previous guests we highly recommend the home dining service provided by Ann and Joseph which was a real qhighlight of our holiday. Many thanks Annette for sharing your property!

A peaceful retreat in beautiful Castino

While the pictures of the property are breathtaking, they do no justice to reality. Everything was beyond expectations and our time in Castino was magical. The property owner and on local manager ensured everything was in order and made our stay totally comfortable and relaxing.

Perfect Italian getaway

Excellent property in a great quiet rural location but only 10 mins walk from Castino with its cafe/bar, deli and pasta shop. Perfect for a relaxing getaway with our family and friends. Lots to see in the area - we only scratched the surface. Pool was lovely and much enjoyed, and a real bonus in the summer heat. Communications with Annette and Ann were excellent, and we were made to feel very welcome - with recommendations for places to visit and eat. A real highlight was the evening meal cooked by Joseph and Ann - which was delicious and highly recommended. A fantastic holiday enjoyed by all of us.

Fantastic Experience

Our group of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our stay and certainly would highly recommend. The house & pool area were a needed recluse after a week in busy cities to the south. Highlight was a fantastic six-course meal with wine pairings prepared by Ann and Joseph! This made a "big" birthday even more special. Also, I would recommend using their wine service as well. After a couple of e-mails with Joseph about what kind of wine we liked, we arrived at the and were greeted with all of the wine we ordered, which would have been impossible to duplicate from a store or wineries. Our group likes to cook and we were very happy with the kitchen and amenities. We enjoyed the stroll through hazelnut orchards to the village of Castino (do it at night and catch the fireflies!), where we visited the deli, coffee shop and yes, the ATM! Also caught an interesting match of fistball one night against another village in a street next to Santa Margherita. Overall fantastic experience and a great base camp to explore Alba, Barolo, Barbaresco and other small Langhe towns, as well as the Italian Riviera.

Italian Getaway

Great house with an amazing view. Only “drawback” is it is slightly secluded. 15 minute drive to the grocery store. But that is also it’s charm, just be aware. We had 7 adults and the house worked perfectly for us. We took advantage of having Ann and her husband cook for us while there. Incredible meal! More than worth it. Highly recommend this amazing house!

Sehr ruhig gelegenes Haus mit toller Ausstattung.

Die ganze Familie (10 Erwachsene und 4 Kinder) war begeistert. Garten, Pool, Küche, Spielzimmer, Ess- und Wohnzimmer. Dazu mehrere Sitzgelegenheiten im Freien. Für uns waren die Tische aber alle zu klein. War aber auch kein grosses Problem. Holt man sich halt von einem anderen Sitzplatz was dazu. Der tägliche Einkauf ist mit dem Fahrrad in 10 Minuten kein Problem. Der kleine Laden im Ort hat immer mal offen. Durch die freundliche Hilfe von Ann bzw. ihrem Mann konnten wir auch eine befürchtete "weinfreie" Zeit nach der Ankunft überwinden. Obwohl eigentlich alles geschlossen war gab es noch einen Winzer der am späten Abend für uns aufmachte. Drei kleine Probleme hat das Haus allerdings.1. Die Sicherung haut es regelmäßig beim Kochen raus. 2. Der Gasherd mag nicht immer auf allen Flammen kochen - was bei unserer Personenzahl ein kleines Problem war. 3. Der Boiler funktionierte nicht immer. Was etwas blöd ist, wenn man gerade unter der Dusche steht. Aber sonst war es echt toll. Und obwohl die Unterkunft doch hochpreisig ist, überlegen wir den Urlaub in den nächsten Jahren zu wiederholen. Übrigens konnte Ann unsere Strom,- Wasser - und anderen Problem telefonisch (auch spät abends) immer lösen - auch dafür noch mal danke. Noch ein kleiner Tip für die Anfahrt. Die Adresse stimmt nicht wenn man sie einfach ins Navi eingibt. Also bitte die Anfahrtsbeschreibung von Ann nehmen. Auf alle Fälle eine Empfehlung.

Ein rundum gelungener Urlaub!

Wir hatten wunderbare 10 Tage in diesem superschönen Domizil. Noch nicht einmal die 5 Tage heftiger Regen konnten uns die Freude an dem Haus nehmen. Im Gegenteil, auch bei diesem Teil des Urlaubs waren wir voll zufrieden. Alle Räume sind so groß, daß jeder seinen Platz finden konnte, und wir konnten auch dann malen als um uns alles im dichten Nebel verloren ging. Ann war eine wundervolle und liebenswerte Ansprechpartnerin die uns immer sehr schnell zu Hilfe geeilt ist.. Der kleine sehr nette Ort bietet alles was man zum leben bzw. zum schlemmen braucht. Die Küche im Haus tat dann den Rest dazu, alles was man braucht ist vorhanden. Und nicht zu vergessen die liebevollen Geschenke zu Beginn. Die letzten 3 Sonnentage haben wir dann auch Garten, Pool und Terrassen noch ausgiebig genießen können. Wir danken ihnen für solch ein herrliches Haus, daß wir teilen durften. Beautiful home with spectacular views

A wonderful stay in beautiful Langhe Hills

Our family of nine fit comfortably in this well maintained and beautiful property. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious. We loved the two large living rooms as well. We were close to Alba and was able to enjoy the town and the White Truffle Festival with wine tastings there. Property hosts Ann and Joseph were extremely helpful responding to our questions with many suggestions. Two highlights were our specially arranged Truffle Hunt and a delicious Prix Fixe dinner with wine pairings created by Joseph and Ann at Casa Annunziata for our family and some friends.
