Goed, gezellig sfeervol hotel midden in centrum
Zeer tevreden. Het is een goed en gezellig hotel met vriendelijk personeel. Zeer behulpzaam. Het ligt vlakbij heel veel historie met een super goede eetgelegenheid om de hoek waar veel locale families komen. Een echte aanrader! We zijn hier 2 nachten geweest met 5 pers om de stad te bekijken. Prima. Ciao!

Mooi oud hotel dat gunstig ligt ten opzicht van de bezienswaardigheden en winkelstraten van Catania. Vriendelijk personeel.

verschrikkelijk, nooit meer!!
het hotel ligt in de achterbuurt van Catania. De receptionist was kort van stof en onbeschoft. de hygiene in de kamer was erg twijfelachtig. tevens kwam t toilet uit de muur zetten toen ik erop ging zitten (ik weeg 65 KG...). Airco wordt cebtraal geregeld, en toen ik vroeg of ie uit kon in onze kamer werd ik nogmaals afgeblaft. t schort aan onderhoud ook van ramen en deuren, we sliepen aan de straatkant en t klonk alsof de auto's brommers, bussen enz enz door je kamer reden!! kortom we waren blij dat we na 1 nacht weg konden, en werkelijk NOOIT meer terug hoeven te komen in deze vreselijke bezemkast!!!

Prachtig klassiek hotel in centrum van catania
En echte aanrader! Behulpzaam personeel, in het centrum maar toch zeer stille kamer, prachtige ontbijtzaal op dak terras en privé parking.

Prima locatie, aardig personeel die allen redelijk tot goed engels spreken.Kamers misschien iets aan de kleine kant maar goed te doen. Wel een heel onhandig lichtsysteem via een klein electronisch apparaat.

Uitstekende ligging, prima sfeer
Sfeervol ingericht en netjes afgewerkt. De meeste kamers zijn ruim opgezet en hebben uitzicht over het centrum vanaf de tweede en derde verdieping. Personeel is bijzonder vriendelijk en zeer behulpzaam. Diner in het hotel is zeker aan te raden, het ontbijt bestaat echter uit vooral zoete koekjes en cake. Met bruin brood is men helaas niet bekend. Wij hebben er ons bijzonder prettig en zeer welkom gevoeld. Let op: Neem geen taxi vanaf het vliegveld naar het hotel, dit wordt een dure aangelegenheid en niet vanwege de afstand. De bus vanaf het vliegveld ( gaat regelmatig ) stopt op vijf minuten lopen, je kunt daadwerkelijk iedereen verder de weg vragen naar de straat van het hotel. Men is je graag ter wille.

Dit hotel is absoluut een aanrader!
Uitstekende lokatie, zeer smaakvol ingericht, uiterst vriendelijke service, restaurant met hoge prijs/kwaliteitsverhouding en uitzonderlijke bediening. Ik reis enorm veel voor zaken maar dit hotel krijgt van mij een topscore en buiten het feit dat personeel aan receptie beperkt is in taalkennis (weinig Engels en Frans) benadert dit hotel de perfectie ! Allen daarheen!

zentral gelegenes, schönes Hotel.
Das Hotel ist sehr zentral wodurch man alle Sehenswürdigkeiten und das Nachtleben ohne Auto erleben kann. Das Auto selbst kann man sicher im Innenhof parken und erspart sich somit die lästige Parkplatzsuche. Das Frühstück in der verglasten Terrasse ist ein wirkliches Highlight! Unser Zimmer war sehr sauber und edel mit kleinem Balkon zur Straße. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Disappointing
We stayed at the hotel Royal for 2 nights in October. The hotel is located just a 10 minute walk from the centre, however it is up quite a steep hill, so if you have a lot of baggage it’s not ideal. The room itself was ok, not as nice as the one shown in pictures but the bed was comfortable. Sadly the room smelled of feet and we had no toilet seat and had request one.One of the main reasons for booking was the jacuzzi, however we later found it was €30 per couple per hour to use. Once we finally located the rooftop we had a look at the jacuzzi and it was completley falling to peices and didnt look clean. Would not pay a penny to sit in it. Although difficult to access, the rooftop itself is a nice area to sit. On check in we were given absolutely no guidance to the hotel or our room.We had the hotel breakfast both days as we thought this was included. It consisted of hard boiled eggs, processed bread, some pastries & fruit. This would have been mediocre at best if it was free, however on check out we were informed that it was €10 pp, per day which is absolutely extortionate for what’s offered. We were not informed of this anywhere beforehand. All around the hotel there are plenty of brilliant breakfast options at a fraction of this cost, so unless you’re getting it free, I wouldn’t go near it. Overall, I’d say the hotel used to be great, however is run down and in need of a deep clean these days. Also, WiFi access is limited to 10 minutes at a time. Not impressed

Centrally located hotel
The good things about Hotel Royal are that it is well located, well priced, close to lots of bars and restaurants and that the rooms are clean. There are great views of the city from the breakfast room. However, it is clear that the hotel is due a re-fresh and that it is not comparable to other 4 stars in the area. It is good value for money and the staff are helpful. I left something in the room and emailed the hotel and they were very gracious about it when I returned two days later. The beds are quite hard (as is common in Italy) but there was something curiously uncomfortable and basic about the rooms that didn't seem to justify a 4 star rating. It is good value for money so if you need a no-frills stay in central Catania then maybe this is for you. If yo want a bit more comfort and even a bit of luxury you might need to re-think.

Excellent service
We spent one night in Catania. The hotel is very conveniently placed. Close to historic sites and activities. While very clean, the facility appears a bit shabby. Wall paint and rug cleaning would improve the appearance. The service was excellent. We appreciate the assistance from the gentleman at the front desk. We were pleased with our stay.

Not a 4 star hotel!
Staf are friendly and helpful apart of one yapping young girl who appeared instead of very nice receptionist. Hotel very dated, all furnishings very tired, bathroom not clean at all. Close to the nice part of Catania. Parking at a premium. Could be ok for a 3 star if cleaned/refreshed bathroom and at lower price.

It was a fine hotel, not similar to other 4-star hotels in Europe. Therefore, if one is comparing, just be aware of this fact. It is walking distance from all major attractions and shopping district. The hotel staff were very nice and accomodated all our needs. It has a parking (surcharge) which is greatly appreciated.

Hôtel confort superbement placé
Hôtel superbement placé. Au cœur de la vieille ville, tout se fait aisément à pied et il est possible de revenir à l’hôtel en cours de circuit pour se reposer un peu. L’hotel en lui même est un peu désuet mais très confortable. Je n’ai pas vu le jacuzzi sur la terrasse, le personnel n’en parle pas et j’avoue ne pas avoir demandé quand j’ai vu qu’il était à 15€/h par personne. Les petits déjeuners sont à 10€ et sont servis sur une terrasse qui domine la via Crocifere, magnifique ! Le parking était à 15€/jour, indispensable dans ce quartier. Le personnel de l’accueil était aimable, un peu trop discret peut-être. Globalement, un très agréable séjour 👍

Nice hotel, great location, exceptional breakfast
Our room had a large balcony with table and chairs. The staff was very friendly. My wife is celliac, and not only was the breakfast very nice and rich, but they provided her with a selection of GF breads, croissants, muffins and more. Minor problems: noisy AC, hard to control shower temperature. Overall a great experience.

From what we understand, Hotel Royal was once a palace and the building is very old. The amenities were great but some things were missing. There seemed to only be one accessible power outlet for the entire room and the light switch system was unique but complicated (not sure which button turned on/off what light). There was a big step down from the bed to the main floor area which made it a little dangerous to go the toilet at night. On the plus side, the breakfast was good and the local area was fantastic; well within walking distance of everything worth seeing or tour meeting areas.

At first glance everything looked fabulous .The room was HUGE and we looked at it with amusement and delight . However it was actually a little shabby with touches of modernity such as the high tech light switches which were overcomplicated and difficult if not impossible to get working .the same with the jacuzzi shower - trying to get it to do anything was impossible and no instructions were provided so it was somewhat frustrating . The minibar was well stocked and reasonably priced but there were no tea or coffee making facilities which was a disappointment especially as the bar appeared unmanned . Breakfast was average. Overall it was good for a laugh as the room was so extravagant in appearance and unusual but we would not go back and felt it was not really worth the additional money we paid for the so called luxury.

Dentro l' Anima di Catania.
Stupendo palazzo antico, posizione strategica e deliziosa per una visita a Catania. Camera accogliente e pulita con bagno ampio e doccia spaziosissima. Un balconcino sulla strada con vista fino al mare. Garage interno cortile e personale cortese. La colazione all altezza della struttura. La terrazza ristorante con vista a 180°. All ultimo piano un secondo terrazzo con vista stupenda su Catania, solarium e vasca Jacuzzi. Lo consiglio vivamente.

Muy buen hotel en Catania
El hotel esta muy bien ubicado a 500 mts del Duomo q es la plaza principal. Buen servicio muy eficientes y atentos . Yo deje equipaje un dia antes de mi reserva para visitar x una noche otra localidad y viajar con un bolso de mano. Fueron amabilisomos y avisaron al otro htl la demora en arribo x el Giro de Italia y el bloqueo de rutas. Excelente desayuno. Cuarto amplio y comodo y muy limpio . Relacion prestscion costo excelente muy recomendable

좋은 위치, 멋진 식당
슬리퍼, 치솔, 면도기, 무료생수 없음. 어메니티 기대 이하. 수건이 매우 낡음. 식당 전망 좋고, 서빙보는 직원 친절함. 리셉션 대체로 친절하나, 오후에 있는 직원은 무뚝뚝함. 위치는 중심거리 및 두오모 광장 등 인근이어서 관광, 쇼핑 어디든 편리함. 다소 경사진 곳에 위치하여 거리 전망이 좋지만, 도보로 갈 경우 짐 이동이 불편함. 인근 스시 및 라멘 파는 식당 있음. 중앙역(인근에 버스터미널)은 15-20분 거리인데, 중앙역 자체가 시내중심에서 멀어 그런 것이니 어쩔 수 없음. 전반적으로는 굿.

per l'Hotel ottima esperienza, per la Città invece sono molto deluso, Catania mi è sembrata piuttosto trascurata, in condizioni precarie (basti vedere il teatro greco) e poi che dire di quella pessima immagine che danno alcuni sfrattati "occupanti" (loro si definiscono "autorizzati" dal Vescovo - sic !!) addirittura della Cattedrale (sia internamente che esternamente !!), Chiesa (casa del Signore) che poi per tutti i cittadini osserva orari inspiegabili !! (apertura pomeridiana alle 16,30 !!)
