'As one of the cheaper luxury hotels in the city, Sofitel did not disapoint. The Service was outstanding. Everybody was extremely helpful and spoke good English. The room was big, clean and had a separate bath and shower. The Only minor setback is the location. although it's not too far from the bell tower area, it's still about 20 minutes on foot.'

'We had a great time in this beautiful guesthouse. The staff is very friendly and always around to help. From here it is a short walk to the main streets. The walk on the city wall is nice though you can only visit half of it, the western section is under construction. The ticket for the sights costs 130 yuan per person, is valid for 3 days and with it you can visit all the sights once. Old Ji was the nicest place we found, with mostly western visitors.'

'What a wonderful stay we had. Helen and her team could not have been more helpful. The pickup from the train and drop off was perfect, Helen helping us with our luggage. Sitting in the beautiful courtyard was a real pleasure. The rooms give you a complete taste of old china whist enjoying the lovely equipped bathroom, and comfortable authentic bed. Added to this the beautiful city of pingyao. Highly recommended the elsewhere hotel and pingyao. :) xx'
