  • Deze eigenschap is 1. 5 uur van het centrum van Chicago, zit op 41 hectare, kijkt uit over een meer van 6 hectare, en is alleen toegankelijk via een eigen rit. De gebouwen werden volledig gerenoveerd in 2016.

    Het hoofdhuis is een 3.600 s. f. A-frame met 5 slaapkamers met 3 volledige badkamers en 10 slaapplaatsen. Het hoofdgebouw beschikt over 800 s. f. van bovendek, 800 s. f. van lager gelegen patio, een ingebouwde barbecue en een visreinigingsstation.

    A 1.300 s. f. pension 5 personen boven, en beschikt over een speelkamer met een pooltafel en een tafeltennistafel. Items zoals theedoeken, servies en keukengerei zijn inbegrepen voor uw verblijf. Het pand beschikt ook over vijf 42-inch flatscreen-televisies, twee open haarden en een bar met een mixer en een koelkast.

    Andere amenieten zijn een drijvend zwemdok, een bootdok en kanovaren op het meer, evenals vissen op kleine mondbaarzen, crappie en blauwe kieuw. Een 16 'platte boot met roeispanen en een kano zijn beschikbaar voor huurders. Kinderen zullen genieten van de speeltuin met een schommelset en glijbaan. En buiten ingebouwde vuurplaats / grill met gedroogd brandhout staat klaar om het diner te koken dat u net hebt gevangen of uw gasten warm te houden op koude nachten. Er is een twee mijl lang wandelpad door het hout en de weide. Het ligt op 10 minuten van een reservaat voor de jacht van vogels en op 25 minuten van de golfbaan Lake Carroll.

We had a great stay. The property feels private for how close it is to the city, and we had everything we needed to hang out, cook meals, and enjoy ourselves.

We rented the lake house for 16 of our family members to gather for a long weekend and it was perfection. The property was beautiful! And the house was even better than we had hoped, great spaces for us to gather all together or separate into two groups of 8. Plenty of seating, space and beds. Just make sure you spread out your shower times because only water pressure for one at a time. We got lucky and the algae cleared in front of the dock enough for us to swim one of the days. We enjoyed exploring the land, trails, canoeing, rowing, the charcoal grill and gorgeous views from the deck. We did reach out to the owner with one small issue and it was taken care of the same day. Thank you so much for providing us this fabulous location to spend family time!

Family weekend

Everyone enjoyed their stay here. Kids loved the swings, large yard, and fire pit for s’mores. Fishing was great. Nice that there’s a Dollar general pretty close for last minute items. Despite a few issues we let the owners know about, we will come back again. So quiet and relaxing.

Fall motorcycle trip

Property is beautiful. We had 3 couples that we rode from Des Moines over to ride up and down the Mississippi. There was plenty of space and areas to hang out. Only thing I would change is to have towels provided, being on a motorcycle space was limited to pack them. Overall everyone in the group wants to come stay here again!

Family vacation

Property was better than anticipated. Had 15 of us and were very comfortable in house and outside. Had a lot of fun fishing. Kids enjoyed playing in the water. Only downfall was no dishwasher.

Bachelor Weekend

The description of the property was accurate. Pond is close to unusable for swimming, but fine to use the boats provided. Large yard great for outdoor time. No towels or shower soap on property. Overall, the property was just what we needed and nothing more. We enjoyed our stay.

Quiet getaway

We chose to find a place that looked relaxing and peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This property met and exceeded all our expectations. We were able to get away from the busyness of the holiday season and just be present with each other. The walking trails, playground area, ping pong and pool tables were great options for fun entertainment. There was plenty of sleeping spaces and the kitchen had everything we needed. The scenery was spectacular with a beautiful lake and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. 10/10 recommend to others.

Great Place

Great family weekend! The place was as seen in the listing. Ton of space for everyone and the boat and canoe was a plus. Caught enough good sized fish to cook up for dinner one night. The lake did have a lot of duck weed, but that is in control of Mother Nature and we knew that going in as per the listing and other reviews. The property is very quiet and secluded, and a lot of nature to see. Our family had a wonderful time and would definitely rent again.

Another great weekend in Chadwick

This is the second year in a row that our group of friends and family have stayed at the property. I would echo everything from the first review without hesitation. Great hosts to work with and a very well-stocked and maintained house. The outside is truly where we spend most of our time with an enormous lot for any activity desired. The pictures are great but don’t do the property justice - it’s a wonderful place to spend time and make memories. Thanks again, Jeff & Vicki!

A wonderful weekend in Chadwick

This house had it all for our annual family guys trip. On the inside: plenty of clean beds, beautiful furnishings and very new kitchens and floors. Great to watch TV in the family room(s), enjoy drinks by the bar, and cook anything we needed. On the outside: very well maintained grounds, excellent fire pit area, gorgeous deck and patio area, and a picturesque lake for views 24-7. Our group of 9 was very comfortable for the duration and the amenities exceeded expectations. Communication with the hosts were always answered within 30 minutes, and everything was set up such that we needed no assistance for the entire trip. Thanks Jeff & Vicki for a great time!

Friend weekend

This property is beautiful. Exactly as stated in the listing. Great canoe. Great Johnboat. We brought our paddle board. A kayak would be fun on the lake. Kids swam off dock in middle of lake. Kitchen is well appointed. Cute bar area downstairs- nice to have an extra frig. Need to bring own bath towels and washcloths. Air conditioning worked well. Guest house was perfect for our teenagers. Multiple TVs and cable were great as well. Plenty of space for a big group. Fire pit with plenty of firewood.

Family get together

Very nice home, plenty of space for 15 - kids, adults, and 2 under age 18 months. Made it very easy to get in. I text with questions we had and they responded quickly with the answers. Loved all the outdoor seating and fire pit. Bunk house was a hugh hit. All 5 girls fit nicely upstairs to sleep. They had to come over to lake house for the bathroom though. The sandy beach they said was there is more like a place to park the boats. John Boat leaked, we flex taped it so we could use it. Paddle boat did not have a steering mechanism so we took the canoe paddles out with it to steer with. Loved the canoe, ping pong and pool table. Swing set and slide are a nice touch. Did a little fishing. Neighbors on otherside of lake did not bother us with their party's. All around great stay.

Girl’s Getaway

House was nice and big for our group of 10 ladies. The pond wasn’t swimmable but we did use the canoe. The duckweed covers the surface in the morning and moves over throughout the day so if you are brave enough you could swim in the evening. The paddle boat wasn’t steerable. The upstairs kitchen is well stocked. The only way to get from the ground floor to the upper kitchen is either the spiral staircase or the back outdoor stairs. Tons of nature and animals all over. There was an issue with the water pressure on our last day but communication with the host went well and we tried our best conserve what we could. The house had a few towels but definitely bring your own as well as your own soap/Shampoo. Easy check in process and super private location. Grill is charcoal so bring charcoal if you plan to use. Nice trail system in the back woods.

Nice property

Our group of 14 (ages 8 through 50+) enjoyed our stay at this house. The kitchen is well stocked. There are two refrigerators (one in the main level bar and one in the middle level kitchen), which is really nice for larger groups. There is a swing set and slide next to a very large firepit. There are two large patio areas with several tables with chairs. There are also many tables for use inside (several stored in bedroom closets) that allowed us plenty of table space for a euchre tournament and craft projects. We enjoyed taking the boat out on the lake, but didn't catch much. The ping pong table and pool table are nice, just be aware that they are in a completely separate building along with the extra 5 twin beds. There is a lot of lawn space to play yards games, too. Some important items to be aware of: * no bath towels are provided * there is also no wifi (but most of our phones were able to get internet access) * there is no dishwasher Our group had a wonderful stay here with lots of great memories.

Amazing, Secluded, Clean

First of all, the pictures of this place , honestly, gave us lower expectations. When we pulled up the longer drive up to the house, it was like we were in a whole new place. The lake and tress are beautiful! When we entered the house, we were amazed at how clean, spacious, and open it was! Lots of space and 2 kitchen areas! Beautiful 2 story windows on the main level with an amazing view of the lake. Lots of light!! The pictures don't do it justice. Game room was good for all the kids and guys. We used the canoe and boat, which were easily accessible and a lot of fun. Overall a wonderful weekend trip!

Western Illinois Lake House

Our family had a great time. Nice accommodations; everything we needed. Very quiet and peaceful. Only complaint is I was told when I asked that the lake was free of algae blooms, which surprised me since it was late July. In actuality, it was about 1/3 covered in algae. In fairness, the swimming area was pretty clear.

Great rural getaway

Our family has visited this property 3 different times. It is a quiet, relaxing and very spacious property. We especially enjoy the big fire pit, swing set, yard for soccer/bocce, the game room and the views from the deck. We plan ahead with any specialty items we will need in the kitchen (the basics are there but we've needed to supplement with items from home). I expect we will be back again next year!

Annual 4th of July Trip

We had a great experience and stay. The property is in a great secluded location with a decent pond. There were just a few things the property didn’t have that we found out via reviews or on arrival but it wasn’t anything too major. Great play, we would stay again in the future.
