Perfect place for a girls weekend
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The home was clean and comfortable and exactly as pictured. We had 5 women in their 40's here looking for a quiet weekend together. We enjoyed coffee on the dock each morning and kayaking before breakfast. It was a great weekend overall!

Golf outing
Our stay was in regard to a semi-annual golf outing of Davidson College alums from the classes 1976-1978. The house easily accommodated our group of six. The house was as described in the VRBO listing. The host was very attentive, checking in frequently. Entry and exit processes were very smooth. We would definitely stay again if our outing returns to the Lake Norman area.

Great stay at Lake Norman
A group of friends along with children came from Pittsburgh to this Lake Norman house for a wedding. We had a long weekend at this home and had a fantastic time. The house was super clean with plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 children. The views of the lake were beautiful and we spent a few nights at the provided fire pit. We did paddle boarding in this cove which was a blast (highly recommend Aloha Paddle Lake Norman). Def a 5 star VRBO for Lake Norman. Looking forward to coming back.

Exceptional Stay
We can't say enough wonderful things about our stay at this house. Jack, host, was attentive and extremely accommodating. The house was absolutely beautiful and a wonderful space for what our group needed. We will most certainly be back to visit again. Thank you for such relaxing and easy week.

Perfect Family Lake Getaway
This was the perfect place for our families to getaway for a weekend at the lake. The host was wonderful and very responsive. The home and property itself was just lovely and very clean. They truly thought of every detail. Also, fishing off of the dock was awesome, the kiddos had a blast! We would certainly come back and recommend to family and friends.

Fantastic Hideaway with Wonderful Views!
We absolutely loved our stay. This lake home was so well decorated and peaceful for our entire family. The hot tub and fire pit were a delight each night. Even on the day it rained we had a blast playing games at the kitchen table and enjoying the amazing view out of the giant wall of windows. We loved watching the beautiful lake, trees, birds and squirrels. We can’t wait to return for another relaxing weekend.

house was great for our party of 5, roomy and enough bathrooms for 5 women! wanted to go to a different part of NC had not seen and location felt like foothills of the mountains with narrow roads and fall weather! we did not use all the property had to offer due to weather and time of year. would recommend to others especially in warmer weather.

Great getaway place
I stayed with three of my classmates for a study retreat. The house was perfect. There was plenty of space to spread out. The furniture was so comfortable and the wifi was great. We ate every meal at the house and it was fantastic. I loved sitting on the dock or by the bonfire watching the moon and kayaking in the late afternoon. I do want to point out the location. It is almost a cove within a cove. That made it very quiet with limited boat traffic. While we were not there at peak season, I would think it would be almost as quiet in the summer. I highly recommend the location and Hosts. Jack was amazingly responsive.

This was the cutest home ! It fit my family well the water was great the host was amazing ! I only wish clearing the spider webs on the dock and back porch were part of the cleaning process but other than that amazing time supper comfy beds ! Overall a great stay

Another great stay!
This was the 3rd time we have stayed at this property. The spot in the cove is so peaceful - morning sun, afternoon shade, deep water off the dock. There is plenty of space for everyone, and the teenagers appreciated having their own TV space upstairs. The lower level has recently been redone and is very bright and comfortable. I also appreciated Jack's great communication and quick responses when we had questions. We would definitely stay again!

Fantastic Stay!
This house was just perfect for our summer vacation. It was plenty spacious for our family (5 adults, 2 kids, & dog) to spread out and have privacy. The main floor suite was perfect for my elderly father so he didnt have to manage any stairs in the home. We got tons of use out of the amenities- afternoons swimming in the lake, evenings in front of the firepit or in the hot tub. The location was perfect- getting to restaurants (we liked Sports Page) and grocery stores were very easy. There is even an emergency vet clinic just 10 minutes away, which came in handy when our dog hurt himself. Charlotte is just 40 minutes away. Jack was a great host- he was very responsive every step of the way (at booking, answering questions leading up to our stay, check in, etc). He also made sure my Amazon package (which unexpectedly arrived a day before we did) was waiting for me inside the house when we got there. The home was stocked with necessities like toilet paper, trashbags, paper towels, handsoap, etc, so we didnt have to rush out to get those after our long drive to get there. The Welcome Basket he provided was a nice surprise as well. We really appreciated the details!

Hooked on Lake Life
This was our first trip to Lake Norman and we are officially hooked! This house has everything our family needed for a quiet, but fun and family filled vacation! The hosts are very attentive and accommodating and the house had everything we needed and more. The beds were very comfortable and the addition of lake towels, snacks, laundry detergent, games, etc, were very appreciated. The area is quiet and perfect for kayaking and then past the no wake zone is an area for tubing and water skiing without the worry of being surrounded. We have always spent our summer vacation at the beach but wanted to try something different, and after this week the resounding consensus is "Let's do BOTH." We will be back! PS Go to Chillfire! It is delicious :)

Great Stay at Lake Norman!!!
This property is beautiful and Jack is quick to respond!! The welcome basket was so thoughtful!! While there were a few little hiccups, the house is everything and more!! We had teens and adults in our party and everyone had a great time! The kayaks are awesome, there are lots of fish to be caught, the easy walk down to the dock is a bonus!! We made s’mores at the fire pit, rented a boat, hung out on floats around the dock, swam and checked out Charlotte on the rainy days. Top Golf and indoor rock climbing were a blast! Lobster Dogs and Geppetto’ s Pizza were both really good. We grilled a couple of nights and also cooked in. The only complaint is that there was one dish towel and no dishrags in the kitchen. Also, the skillets, cookie sheets and kitchen utensils need an update. They did however provide dish soap, garbage bags, dishwasher detergent, reg detergent and fabric softener which was a nice touch! If we go back to Lake Norman, we would definitely stay here again!

Amazing lake house experience for family (incl. kids and dog)
We had a fabulous time on Lake Norman and the house had everything we needed and more! Jack was very communicative/responsive, and the entire booking and check in process was seamless. The house / property is gorgeous — we had more room that we needed for a family of 5, and spent most of our time on the dock, in our boat, or in the jacuzzi. The fire pit was perfect for roasting marshmallows and the kayaks (provided) were fun to cruise around on. It was our first time to NC so we didn’t realize how remote this side of the lake was compared to the Davidson area, but we loved it for a peaceful vacation. Would 100% stay here again!

Perfect Lake Get Away
We had a wonderful stay this past weekend. The house was SO CLEAN and so well appointed. Every detail was thought of. They even had toys and games for the kids and a welcome basket of snacks. It was close to lots of options for activities and the host was very responsive. One of the best VRBO experiences we have had to date. Would definitely visit again!

The property was wonderful. It comfortably accommodated all nine of my family members. The host was fabulous. He added an extra day to my reservation at the last minute even while he was finishing up his remodel. He went out of his way to make our holiday the best. A Treasure Gem location on Lake Norman!
This was our family’s first lakefront vacation and we plan to go back again. Home very welcoming upon entering and kept getting better! Functional layout and lake vibe decor fit perfectly! Such a treat to sit on couch/chairs and view the lake! The outside was nicely shaded and included a fire pit with tons of seating. We spent the majority of our days outside enjoying paddle boarding and swimming. Although not pictured, oars provided. Back porch deck had plenty of seating including a lounge chair where our small dog and I enjoyed reading, the view, and many small animal visits, including a neighborhood cat and hummingbird. Friendly neighborhood with miles of walking and biking opportunities! Close to grocery shopping and restaurants. The hosts were very responsive when guidance was needed. The home was clean and spotless and provided essential cooking pots/pans etc. We enjoyed our week to the fullest! I can honestly say I haven’t been that relaxed in a long time! Thank you Jack & MaryAnn for a wonderful week!

MOLD beware
The owner cancelled on us as we were driving 7 hours down to lake Norman. He messaged saying there was mold and it wasn’t a health concern. Come to find out he never had it inspected he had someone else go rub it with bleach (doesn’t kill mold btw) especially if it’s behind the walls and when I asked to inspect it before deciding for myself if it was a health concern he cancelled our reservation. Beware thank goodness we found a much better house through lakecations!!!

This review was provided by a person who has never been to our lake home. We did not enjoy turning away a guest and have never had to before. Doing so was heartbreaking. A vindictive review is not surprising. Our property is clean and free of any mold or other such concerns. Professionals have checked the area described below and proactively cleaned it to ensure there are no issues to come. At the time, our prospective guest was notified before their travel about a water leak from AC condensation in the basement. This leak started the night before check in. Mold was not an issue, especially in the 12 hours of leaking that occurred. We could not have a specialist arrive before the guest. We offered several solutions including compensation for disappointment and a full refund of the stay. The guest was frankly argumentative and inconsolable. We could not find a way to please the guest. The guest was given the option several times to stay or cancel with a full refund over the hours before check in. With a heavy heart, and after several consultations with the guest (including phone calls), we deemed the guests behavior, and health concerns as important enough reasons to cancel the stay. After all, if we can not make our guest happy and the guest is concerned, we should not host them. We immediately offered similar peer properties for the guest, at similar rates, all in the same area with the similar amenities. We are happy, the guest found a good place and had a good vacation.

Perfect again this year!
We looked at other spots for our summer 2022 lake trip, but decided to return to this property because it is just so perfect. The house set up is great for kids to have their own space, but also good family space in the living room. The outside space is wonderful - there is nice shade in the afternoon, the water off the dock is plenty deep, and there are plenty of chairs to sit and enjoy the day. We made good use of the SUP + kayak as well. Highly recommend Lake Effects Boat Rental as well - we got a 2nd SUP and kayak and a jet ski and we had a blast.

Pictures Don't do this house justice
Amazing house! No details left unnoticed. We all thought it was very comfortable, CLEAN, easy to get to the grocery store/into town, & great communication with the owners. The lake was easy to navigate in our boat, boat launch was close, water was deep at the end of the dock, paddle board and kayak were used by all. The outdoor space was everyone's favorite- choose to sit on the dock, in the hot tub, around the firepit or on the dock with great views of the beautiful lake. We would definitely rent this house again!

Wonderful vacation!
We had a wonderful vacation on the lake. Our boat was delivered right to the dock and we spent every day on the water tubing & waterskiing. The house was super clean. The fire pit was fun at night making s’mores and just talking. We recommend this house and it’s easy access to CLT airport. Jack was very responsive as a host and answered all of our questions about best boat rentals, etc. We would stay here again!

Wished we Could Have Stayed Longer
Thank you, Jack. You and your family have a lovely home in a very nice area. My husband and I, our kids, son-in-law and two grandchildren enjoyed our time relaxing and having a fun-filled week the majority of which was spent on the lake. We rented a boat for the week enjoying it and tubing and wake boarding, and when not out on the boat, they took turns using your kayak and the paddle board. When taking a break from the water, we took advantage of the nice size backyard and set up yard games that my daughter brought from home and the fun continued. Several enjoyed fishing although their luck in catching much wasn’t in the cards for them this time around. Lol We brought food for grilling but our first...and it ended up being our last...time grilling because we ran into a few issues as the grill was dirty which we cleaned…then we couldn’t find a lighter or matches in the house …luckily one of us had some matches, but then the grill would not heat up enough…luckily we could finish the cooking in the kitchen. Sleeping arrangements were perfect where each family had their own floor and bathrooms…that was ideal! Thank you again Jack and thanks for the great communication the whole way through. It was so very helpful and much appreciated

Based on the insights about the grill, we have replaced the grill with a new one, and also chairs in the firepit area... which where showing age. The new grill has a lighter built in. Thank you Jack and family! My husband, college-aged daughter and niece and I had a terrific carefree 3 nights at your home on Lake Norman. We loved sitting on the dock, relaxing in the hot tub, and sharing meals and playing cards at both the big dining table and on the outdoor deck overlooking the cove. Nicely appointed home, and bedrooms included high quality bedding and good mattresses- much appreciated! Didn’t use the spa tub in the master but nice to have the option! I particularly appreciate your excellent communication throughout. Thank you for a really nice break!!
