Very bad service after no warm water
Out of 5 days I had 3 days with no warm water to take a shower. They were 'upgrading' their warm water system that week, but the note in my room said that warm water was not available only between 10:00-16:00. I could not leave the hotel for business reasons while hoping for the better every morning. I asked for compensation which was difficult as the hotel was paid in full through hotels.com, but the hotel staff promised me twice that they would get in contact with me. After a month I'm still waiting.

This was a night away for my wife and I. We thought the facilities and room were perfect for us. The hotel was in good repair but retained its period charm. The staff could not have been more helpful. Service in the restaurant was very attentive, and the breakfast was excellent. The quality of the food served up in the evening didn't quite live up to the high quality of the rest of our stay, but it was perfectly pleasant.

Loved the location. Hotel was lovely. Downside, our room was location next to some fans or air con units and they made a continuous noise all night which was difficult if your used to a quiet space when you go to sleep. If we’d been on the other side of the hotel away from the noise it would have been a 5* break.

A good quality hotel in central Cheltenham. The hotel is smart; well maintained; and has very efficient check in staff. All in all very good, although i woukd have expected the tea/coffee to have been automatically been topped up when the room was serviced.

Negatief: Staat van de accommodatie en faciliteiten
Most of the staff are friendly, and the room service is good. However, the facilities in the room need improvement. The bedside reading lamp is broken, and the bedside lamps can only be switched on through the button by the bulb, which is a bit dangerous for children. Additionally, the switch on the bedboard does not work. The carpet needs cleaning. Also, the hotel is very close to the building opposite; from the window, I can see it very clearly, so I have to keep the curtains closed all the time while staying there. Lastly, the pillows need cleaning, as there are feathers coming out of them

Nice and historic property, room was way too warm and aircon didn’t work (plus really shouldn’t be needed in the middle of January!). Lovely, but pricey, food in the Victoria restaurant.

I thought the staff were very good and very helpful particularly Jack on Reception and the lovely oriental cleaner on the 3rd floor who took time to ask us how our breakfast was and did we need help with our bags such a kind man .we enjoyed breakfast but they did seem under pressure .The property is tired not our room which was nice but the carpets could do with a clean on the corridors

Staff polite & very helpful, there were a couple of stains on the top of the duvet cover. Too hot in the room so did keep window open.
