'The staff were pleasant and welcoming. We liked the convenience and food offered at the property. The bed was also extremely comfortable.
In terms of improvements, the mirror in the bathroom was too far away for shaving, etc - It would be nice to have a magnifying mirror. Also, we felt it was difficult to leave the property by car as the visibility was quite poor and cars pass by quite quickly.'

'Lovely old coaching inn. Check in was friendly and we were shown to our room. Rooms recently refurbished with very plush furnishings. We had a superior double. Lovely little touches like bottles of water, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits, great toiletries, even a pillow spray. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment. Like that they have kept the tradition of the building with pictures of the historical person and a description. Would stay here again if visiting Godalming '

Only thing to keep in mind is that for some reason the top floor rooms get really hot, even with the radiator turned off (we stayed in February last year, early March this year). So you need to have the windows open, and the road can be really busy and quite noisy. So we'd recommend asking for a room on the back of the hotel. Other than that, the staff are amazing, the food is great, the bathrooms are clean and modern...
