'A great place to stay! The hotel combined two of the officer's quarters from Fort Seward to make a beautiful building. While the building is from the early 1900s, it is beautifully maintained. The owner is very helpful - he went so far as to dig out a socket wrench to help me with an errant piece of photo equipment. Would definitely stay here again. '

'Host was very nice and helpful. He was an all in one person trying to do to many things from front desk to shuttle service. Could really use another person to help with all the tasks. Breakfast was very good self serve. Good variety of foods. Rooms and amenities were nice. Will stay there again next time we get to Haines.'

The driveway is very steep with some very sharp turns. I had everything I owned in the back of my pickup, so with the added weight, it was problematic for me to maneuver the driveway.
