Kvinnan som var chef var inte trevlig. Stämningen bland personalen dålig när hon var där. Räddningen var trevliga Violet, Serviceminded samt Igor. kan inte rekommendera detta hotell tyvärr. Frukostbuffé var bokad och betald men ingen frukost, inte ens en flaska vatten kunde chefen servera.

Although I booked this great looking hotel in January, when I arrived I was informed that my room was not available and I was offered a room in the basement. This room was like a cellar and not suitable. I was found another hotel room in a hotel with no swimming pool on a busy road and asked to pay extra as it was a central location. I refused to pay extra. I paid the agreed rate and was shown a room that I accepted as It had been about 90 minutes since I had first attempted to check in. The room was in a hotel that was having building work done on it and drilling commenced on the exterior wall to my room as soon as I checked in. Unable to communicate that well with the hotel staff, complaints returned blanked faces and shrugs of shoulders. Breakfast was not served and service to the room or any attempt to communicate with me was zero. Extremely poor service, extremely poor facilities, very poor food, very poor standard for hotels.com

Extremely Disappointing Experience
I arrived in Chisinau airport at 6 in the morning and took a taxi to this hotel where I had made a reservation a month ahead of time through Orbitz. When I arrived at the hotel, the woman at the front desk looked completely puzzled. She did not speak a single word of English and made it known to me that I wasn't on the book for that day or any other day at all. Having made this reservation a month ahead and wanting to make sure I had a place to stay when I arrived after a grueling 22 hour flight, I was obviously disappointed. The woman kept telling me to wait in Russian, so I waited. And waited and waited. She was very nice and offered me two cups of coffee while I was waiting and allowed me to use their Wi-Fi so I did. After an hour and a half of waiting, I decided that since I really didn't know what I was waiting for and my entire stay in Chisinau was only 1 day anyway, I should stop wasting time and get myself another hotel. So, I made a reservation at another hotel and walked away. I came home to find out that they had charged me $500 for an alleged "no show" reservation which is not only an outright lie but also a total scam! The entire room price would have been $27 had they had a room, been able to keep their end of the bargain and honored my reservation, let alone speak English so they could at least communicate what had gone wrong. They do not deserve to be rewarded for failing to keep their end of the bargain. Do not do business with these shady people!

The place looks good but that is all. The staff is horrible, incompetent and unprofessional. I booked a room in advance and paid for it with my credit card. When I arrived and tried to check in I was told I owed them the money for my room even though I had a receipt about my previous payment. Instead of accommodating me, girls from front desk were demanding the money and showing extreme rudeness

Cavalier attitude to guests - Evicted from room
My experience at Hotel Edem was described by the one English speaking member of staff as "terrible". I arrived at hotel Edem on October 7 directly from Chisinau airport. At the reception I went to check in whereby the receptionist informed me it was "not possible ". With some difficulty I found the booking on my hotels.com app. and showed it to her. However it made no difference there was still no room for me. The staff made some attempt to find me an alternative hotel but failed to find one. Fortunately I was able to use the app to book and pay for a room at Regency hotel. The staff at Eden booked me a taxi and asked me if I would return tomorrow when the room was available. I said I would. I returned to Hotel Edem on Saturday 8th at 1pm and checked into room 1. I left the hotel 15 minutes to go on a wine tour. I returned at 7 pm wherein entering the hotel I could see my bag packed and sitting in the lobby. The English speaking staff member said "Sorry we had to give your room to someone who had paid in advance". Then she made her "this is terrible" remark . Fortunately there was a room still available at the Regency where I returned. I am still feeling angry that I could be treated in such a cavalier way by a hotels.com approved hotel. It is not a nice experience to arrive in a non EU country like Moldova and to find that you have nowhere to sleep at 11pm on the weekend of a major sporting event. For this to happen twice in the same short stay is "difficult".

Hotel Edem Chisinau - Eine absolute Katastrophe
Das Hotel wurde für eine Nacht bei Expedia gebucht. Auf vor der Reise geschriebene Mails direkt an das Hotel bezüglich spätem Check-In wurde nicht reagiert. Als wir am Abend einchecken wollten, wurde uns nur gesagt, dass das Hotel trotz vorhandener Reservierung ausgebucht sei. Nach einiger Diskussion wurde man vom Besitzer noch bepöbelt und suchte sich letztendelich mit dem Taxi ein anderes Hotel. Nie wieder Edem!!!

Certainly not the experience I am accustomed to with Expedia or any of the bookings I have had in the past. Upon arrival to Edem Hotel I was told that I was to pay more money than I had reserved it for. The pool was drained, fair enough, it wasn't quite summer yet. But we were looking forward to using the sauna so we requested to see it before paying the ADDITIONAL cost of the ROOM. We were told it was in working order and we could use it, it was only after we had already paid for the room that we were told that it would be another ADDITIONAL cost to use the sauna. Once we saw the room, we knew we had been played as fools. Stained dirty carpet, broken shower (not only the shower head, also the shower door didn't close), sheets that didn't even cover the whole mattresses and the mattresses were so blown out that all you could feel was springs. Worst of all, the breakfast was so dodgy with yogurt that had gone way past off, moldy bread, and cold eggs that you couldn't even eat it.

Got to the hotel in the early hours. No problems checking in. When I went to pay the next day they tried charging me £12 more than the booking price on expedia. Hotels in Chisinau are already overpriced and cost more than western hotels. No english speaking staff either. I didnt read all the reviews on expedia I only glanced at the rating; if I read them I would not have gone to this hotel. No water in swimming pool.

I booked the room and upon arrival the administrator asked if I wanted to add breakfast. I said ok, and let her know that I had to be at the train station by 7 am. Came down for breakfast at six, was told that the restaurant didn't open until 7:30. So, I paid for a breakfast that I could not get. Room had two small single beds. I booked a double. Only place to eat was at least a ten minute walk. Not a great place for a hotel.

The worst place to live in Chisinav
The bed sheets were old and not washed. The rooms are not clean either. Furniture is old as well. There are no curtains so you get up automatically with the sunlight. The hotel has got water problem. I had to leave the hotel in the middle of my stay and shift to other hotel, as there was no water for 2 days.

Fint hotell, god service og hjelpsomt personell. snakket både engelsk og russisk. Litt "lang" vei til sentrum ca 15 til 20 min gange i et litt skummelt strøk. Men taxi til sentrum kostet bare 2 euro så det var ikke noe problem. Så dette kan anbefales.

It took two locals over 45 mins with google mapping to eventually locate this place and then its name was spelt differently out front. The apparently usual family weekend pool party was in full swing about 20 people and I was directed away by the older lady while the much nicer younger lady was saying swim,very hot (34oC) you swim. I was asked Visa/mastercard or cash when I said card the story (as is stated in many previous reviews) changed to machine no work you pay cash in Euro's. I was 2 euro short and did the older lady bug me constantly by sitting near the front door and went i went outside or came but in it was the same You owe 2 euro! Breakfast was stale and sparse so I booked the next night without breakfast. Well Madam wanted the same money Hotel.com too cheap wrong price! I showed my confirmation at the cheaper rate so then it was Your room booked for next night you must shift. I was shifted into a far inferior room threadbare carpet no frig and onloy the one room whereas the night before it was a two room apartment.Guess what no one stayed in my room as they left the door open and it was next door. This lady according to my experiences and past reviews does more to destroy tourism in Moldova then any other person.

A disappointing visit.
It's definitely not the best hotel in Chisinau. First of all, hotel staff does whatever it can to get more money out of you. Can't pay in cash (only Leu accepted)? Too bad, but there'll be a surcharge for your card. Want a taxi? Only some hotel shuttle will be called at double the price, even if you insist on a regular taxi. The hotel seems to be run by a family. Not everyone in the family should be in the hospitality business. Especially the woman with short, black hair was complaining loudly the whole time and always ready to argue with anyone. She obviously disliked her job. This doesn't give a good atmosphere. Location is somewhere out of town in a quite shabby area. The rooms are worn and need renovation, but the air conditioning worked, fortunately. Internet is very unstable, but fast enough if it works. Breakfast is included but very minimalistic and of bad quality. Wouldn't stay again.

On arrival which was a task that took some 45mins because the streets aren't named and the hotel is actually in the back lanes that even the locals do not know it wasn't long before all the bad comments in other reviews came true. The pool area had about 15-20 people but later found NONE were guests all friends of owner/manager the last left at 9pm. The older lady said "Visa/MasterCard/Cash" as soon as I said card the same old review problems ."Machine no work no speak English you pay in Euro" This problem is in many other reviews so be aware or don't come. She claimed not to understand but certainly did when I told her she is a pier see the past reviews. She then sat at the door and over the next 24hrs every time see saw me wanted 4€ more. She tried to sell beer at inflated prices also. Breakfast was stale and minimal. The room I got the first night was great two rooms plus bathroom and refrigerator so I decided to stay and booked the next night on hotels.com and as I opted out if breakfast it was cheaper. Well Madam hit the roof wanting an extra 100lei and when I showed her the hotel.com confirmed price she then said your room booked you move and gave me a much smaller single room with worn out carpet and no refrigerator .I had intended to stay up to 4 nights but instead moved out after that treatment.The reason of her revenge was shown in that my old room was not used in fact she left the door open I guess to "show she was the boss!"

This hotel was worth the price. The room was fine, carpet was old and stained but the beds were good. They have a nice pool. The neighborhood is very quiet. It is a bit of a walk to the center of town but easy to get a tram to the center. Also, hotel is a little hard to find. They doubled book my room on the 2nd night and I had to change to a room in the basement. Was annoyed about this because they new I was staying another night but I was given a discount for the inconvenience. The owner of the property is a little rude - she didn't help me out with the overbooked room. It was either I take the room in basement or leave - she only spoke Russian and Moldovan. Only one person spoke English and he was nice. The rest of the staff was fine, just the owner was difficult. If you don't have any issues like this, it's a good place to stay

Nice hotel overall !
Nice hotel overall ! A bit hard to find at first time, but then you orient rather easily. Not the richest part of Chisinau, but it is safe. The pool was empty and rather useless and breakfast was very very basic ! On the positive side, the staff, especially Edward was very very helpful. Just bear in mind they will ask you 3% uplift if you want to pay with a credit card. Moldova is not the best place to use a credit card anyhow so I ended up paying cash. All being said, I do recommend the hotel and I would stay there again if I happen to go back to Chisinau.

I stayed four nights in lovely Chisinau in the end of March, with the purpose to watch the soccergame between Sweden and Moldova, aswell as participating in a missiontrip (visiting families in Branesti and Ivancea outside the town). The standard of the room was only ok but the bed was good! I could sleep very well. It was cosy with all the flowers in the stairwell and the breakfast was nice. Also the internet was working very well! The price of the room had changed from my booking until I got there which was surprising, but at the same time not very upsetting. The total price was still affordable.
