'Very good value for money, everything you need is there including WiFi. Some small areas needing attention but nothing serious. Only downside was building works going on in an attached building, loud banging from 6am.'

'Stayed here on business and ticket all the right boxes. The room was a bit warm though, despite that the heat had dropped off these last few days. Nice bar area and nice selection of ales. The restaurant was in a real pretty setting. Easy parking in the vicinity of the hotel and they even had parking spaces in front of the rooms which are at the back of the property. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff. '

'Groot hotel, met veel oudere gasten die met bus komen. De kamer was erg klein. Je kon nauwelijks om het bed heen komen. Eten: erg veel en met weinig liefde bereid. Leuk ongedwongen personeel. Fraai aangelegd park met zitgelegenheid. Toegankelijk voor rolstoeler, maar geen aangepaste kamers genoeg voor alle hulpbehoevende mensen.'

'A lovely inn situated in a peaceful village but very handy for visiting the attractions within York and the North Yorkshire National park. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and our room was very clean and comfortable. We can recommend the food and drinks on offer in the air conditioned restaurant, both on the evening we stayed and for breakfast the following day. Top marks.'

'The room was perfect for our family of 3. While it was very hot and there is no AC the window in the evening with a fan helped a bit. Out of the main area but a short walk. Excellent fresh breakfast options.'

'Het is een leuke, goed gelegen locatie. Het stadscentrum is op loopafstand (20 minuten) en het station is ook dichtbij. De eigenaren zijn ontzettend aardig en heel hulpvaardig. Nadeel was het bed; voor ons was het matras te zacht en wat kort. '

So much choice at breakfast, all delicious, everything you could want. Can’t wait to go back in summer to enjoy the open terrace overlooking the pond. A real joy to stay here.'

Not your run of the mill continental breakfast, but a sit down, order from an extensive menu kind of meal. Everyone here was so friendly and helpful and the location was convenient to the town’s landmarks. Would definitely stay here again!'
