This house has direct access to Lake Erie. It is beautiful and dangerous. PLEASE RESPECT THE LAKE!!!!! It can get very angry some days. There is a private beach most days. However, it depends on the water level, wind speed, and wind direction. Please see photos of the full beach on a calm day and NO beach on a stormy day.

Harmless Midges will hatch in June (most likely) when the lake temps reach 60 degrees along the shores of Lake Erie, clinging to the house, cars, your hair, just about anything. The annual event happens in early June, as the lake warms up and the days get longer. That's when the mosquito lookalikes hatch, fly onto shore, swarm, and reproduce. I will contact guests who have a reservation during those days to advise and give an option. This is a natural event, and we will provide a bug vacuum during your stay. We also have professional bug treatments regularly.

Every year, the situation varies depending on the timing and number of hatchlings. We will make the best decision based on the individual circumstances. We have no intention of having guests pay for a ruined vacation venue, but we will also not offer a discount or refund for a few bugs on the lake. We have several options and will contact you so we can come up w a plan when or if that happens.

Please keep all doors and windows shut. We have provided screens on all windows and doors. We also provide a long vaccuum for any insects that may sneak in during your stay. Professional exterminators do service this property as needed.
