The breakfast was actually good and a nice surprise. We had actually planned to drive straight through on the return trip but this hotel was so pleasant, we broke up the return trip and stayed here on the way back also.'

'Friendly and helpful staff. We try to use the stairs rather than the elevator when we stay in multi-story hotels. Often the stairway is unkept. The stairway at the Best Wester was neat tidy and clean.'

'We were traveling with our dog and the hotel was clean. The staff was very friendly. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great and had a lot of options. When we arrived there were warm cookies at the front desk!!! They were very good. I have to say this is the best hotel we have stayed at with our dog. I would highly recommend. My only suggestion would be to have a place to walk dogs as the area around is mostly just dirt and rocks and has stickers which got stuck in my dogs...

'I enjoyed my stay, and if I have the opportunity to go back, I most definitely will. Everything was very clean, very well kept, and communication was great from the host and hostess. Wish I could have enjoyed the breakfast, but I had to hit the road early for an appointment and was in able to attend it. A pleasurable stay for sure!'

'Really nice hotel in Portales. We reserved a handicapped accessible room which was very nice and spacious and had a roll in shower. This was great as I was traveling with my 95 year old mother who uses a wheelchair or walker depending on how she feels. Only small quibble was the hotel doesn’t have a covered entry which only mattered because it was rainy(thunder storms) so we got a bit wet getting in. But a VERY nice stay'

'Very clean hotel, comfortable beds, nice indoor pool and hot tub. Fast elevator, I know this doesn’t sound like much but the last 5 hotels I stayed at had very slow elevators. Like a full 2 minutes waiting on it to even show up. This one was there in 3 seconds and had you the lobby in 2 seconds. Only downside is the train station right across the street. I didn’t hear it in the room but outside was loud ever 5 minutes. But a non issue once inside '
