'Lovely over night stay enroute to Porthcawl for the Golf. Smart hotel in good location. Breakfast available but with Greggs & McDonald’s next door had a few options. No air conditioning- so it it was a hot night not sure how the room would feel as if you opened window it was noisy from road but the room had a fan. Nice place to stopover or stay longer if exploring the area. '

'Lovely hotel, with great facilities the room. Several mirrors, draws as well as wardrobe with plenty of hangers. Spare pillows, a room fan, hairdryer, luggage rack . . I was very pleased The breakfast was unexpected too. A lovely lobby with comfy chairs and dining tables, with a very good range of continental and some hot items. Buffet style so pleanty!. The staff were lovely at checkin & breakfast. Would definitely stay again.'

'Heerlijk verblijf van 4 dagen gehad in The Lion. kamer precies genoeg wat nodig is. Prachtige gerenoveerde badkamer. ben zelf alleen geen bad-liefhebber, had liever een gewone douche gehad. Volgende keer bij een boeking niet vergeten het als voorkeur aan te geven. Ontbijt uitstekend! Ook 2 diners genoten en was heerlijk. 'Nice building, character. We had a huge room in the eves, great. However, there is a need for some maintenance, stair carpet a big hole, some woodwork could do with a lick of paint, silicone refreshing. The spa, mmmm, clean those shower walls and repair some taps and such. It really needs to be uplofted in places.'

'Uit de douche kwam kokend heet water, echt levensgevaarlijk. Omdat de boiler niet werkte en we niet koud water konden krijgen. De nieuwe eigenaar alsmede de oude eigenaar wilde niet volgens de man van de technische dienst voor de kosten opdraaien. Erg klantonvriendelijk om ons dan niet een andere kamer aan te bieden of het probleem op te lossen. Ook troffen we een keer bij aankomst onze deur open, erg slordig van het personeel die had schoongemaakt. '

'To my surprise was the only guest during my stay. The hosts were kind and considerate. The room is small but tidy and in well maintained condition. Separate shower which is a bit basic but sufficient, the bathroom is en suite though. There is also a drawing room which you share with a lodger, a bit old fashioned but still nice. Breakfast gives you a choice between continental and full English breakfast in a very nice room. '
