The Haven at Mt. Herman

Genesteld in pijnbomen met Mt. Herman als onze achtergrond, ons huis is gelegen op 5 hectare grond (volledig omheind) dat een rustige, besloten omgeving biedt, met uitgebreide mogelijkheden voor activiteiten in de buurt. Het huis bestaat uit drie niveaus, elk met unieke kwaliteiten. De bovenverdieping is een elegante suite met een bubbelbad. Het hoofdniveau heeft een queensize bed voor twee, terwijl het lagere niveau perfect is opgezet voor een gezin. Elk niveau heeft zijn eigen complete badkamer.

Ons huis is slechts twee "blokken" verwijderd van National Forest, waar u kunt genieten van wandelen, fietsen of hardlopen langs de vele paden. Mt. Herman is een unieke lonende ervaring!

Historisch centrum Monument ligt op twee mijl afstand met een aantal eetgelegenheden en interessante winkels om te bladeren. Historisch Palmer Lake ligt op slechts 8 km afstand en biedt een vergelijkbare ervaring. Wat uw interesses ook zijn, onze regio kan voldoen. The Haven op Mount Herman is uw thuisbasis voor gemakkelijke en snelle toegang tot de Air Force Academy, de stad Colorado Springs (met te veel activiteiten om op te noemen), of zelfs winkelen in de Outlet Mall in Castle Rock. Volg een rondleiding door enkele van de meest bekende christelijke organisaties ter wereld zoals Glen Aerie Castle (Navigators), Focus on the Family of Compassion International. Of ... gewoon ontspannen en genieten van de sereniteit van ons eigendom, misschien met dat boek dat u al zo lang wilt lezen.

Neem ook het hele gezin mee - kinderen zijn WELKOM en zullen uren worden vermaakt in onze grote, overdekte speel- / recreatieruimte met plezier voor kinderen van alle leeftijden; van LEGO's tot ping pong tot games. Huisdieren zijn ook welkom zolang ze gezond zijn, goed met mensen, andere honden kunnen omgaan en te allen tijde onder toezicht van de eigenaar staan.

Wij zijn een niet-roken eigendom, dus geen "blazende rook" ergens op ons areaal. Wat uw doel ook is, wat uw behoeften ook zijn, kom en blijf bij ons om uw geest te verfrissen en uw geest te verjongen.

Perfect family vacation home

Our family came to Monument to celebrate Christmas together. Judy went above and beyond to make the home feel warm and welcoming and we loved all the festive holiday decor. We travelled with our adult children, teen kids, and our young grandson. This house had plenty of room everyone and plenty to do. Our boys spent countless hours in the playroom having rounds of ping pong matches. We loved sprawling out in the great room for family movie and game nights. The kitchen had everything we needed to make all of our Christmas favorite meals and desserts. We loved the hiking trail that was right down the road and had a wonderful time exploring the area. Judy and her husband are the ultimate hosts and we are so thankful for all the amazing Christmas memories we created with our family.

Wonderful Stay

This was a wonderful find. Hidden among tall pine trees, the house itself is private and holds more than you could ever imagine. From the expansive outside deck, to the comfortable bedrooms, well stocked kitchen, and the well appointed game room on the bottom floor, we had everything that we needed and so much more. With two toddlers in the group, we would sit in the game room for several hours and just watch them entertain themselves with the toys that were there. Outside on the bottom of the property you could see horses on the adjoining property (big hit with little girls) and see the beautiful countryside. If you have a party with adults and kids, this is the place. Actually even with just adults, wonderful place, well appointed and responsive contact with the owners. I would readily reserve again.

Family reunion

The haven at Mt. Herman is just that-a haven. The moment we arrived it felt as if we had just arrived home. The hosts were so very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The home was comfortable and we had everything we needed to make our stay relaxed and wonderful. The house with its decks surrounded by pines and views of the mountains provided a peaceful escape that was greatly needed. To top it off, fresh homemade bread that was delicious! We can wait to go back next year!

Simply Amazing

Great location on acreage and surround by horse farms, tucked in to the base of Mt Herman with beautiful views. Very comfortable home with great outdoor decks and patios. A very friendly, generous and knowledgable owner. The home has everything you will need in the way of comfort, cooking need isolation, yet very close to the historic district of Monument. I highly recommend to stay there.

The best mountain haven in Monument!

My family and I have stayed at this property a number of times now and love it every time. There are 10 of us total, (4 adults and 6 kids, ages 4-15). It’s spacious enough for us to all spread out, but also so cozy for family games, movies, and hikes. Over the years our kids have loved playing with the toys in the “play” garage and this year they squealed and laughed happily for hours in the new addition playing duck-duck-goose. The yard is also fully fenced so it’s a perfect nature playground for human and fur-kids alike. Our dogs absolutely love running free and visiting the friendly neighbor animals through the fence. Kelly and Judy are the nicest hosts, and so very attentive to anything we could ever need. Knowing our San Diego kids were excited to see snow, Judy had sleds ready for my kids and showed them the best sledding hill in the yard as soon as we pulled up. The kitchen is well-stocked with plenty of staples and we always hope to leave a little something for the next guest in return. Overall the house is a great place for any families looking for some down time in the crisp mountain air. Finding this place has been a true blessing to our family.

Most Gracious Host and Beautiful Property

If you are in the Colorado Springs area and you’re looking for not only a beautiful property to stay at but the most gracious and accommodating hosts we’ve ever encountered, look no more! Beautiful home and setting. Home away from home. Slept 6 adults and 5 children very comfortably. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the deck in the morning. Watch the sun set over Mount Herman in the evening. Home is very comfortable and a great place to gather with friends. The host provided an overview of the property, coffee and fresh bread it had everything you need to make meals or bbq. Great place for large family and great owners!

We brought our 6 over 18 kids and a spouse. We were able to sleep all 9 of us comfortably. The house is stocked nicely with any utensils needed/towels/etc. He game room was wonderful for a ping pong tournament and even some hiking supplies. I can see how families with young children would love it as well. We had an issue with a tire and were even able to borrow a small air compressor from the owners to use to get it aired up enough to get it into town. We would love to stay here longer and again!!

Great family vacation

We loved staying at this property. The kids loved the playroom and seeing all the animals at the farms next door. The adults loved the hiking next to the house since it is next door to the national forest. We've stayed in a lot of VRBO's and none of them have been supplied as well as this house. It was very clean on our arrival and had plenty of space for everyone to spread out. It had a very "homey" feel. Since we had to make extra trips to the airport, this location was great because it sits between the airport and the activities we wanted to do. It does not have a television, but we were too busy to watch it anyway, The only negative is that the pine trees were pollinating while we were there and since there is no air conditioning we had to leave the windows open. It made for a lot of sneezing and runny noses. It does get quite warm in the upstairs bedroom during the day. Overall, we had a wonderful family vacation here and highly recommend it to everyone.

Our visit was wonderful! This home is beautifully organized and impeccably clean. Everything you could need has been thought of and provided by the hosts. They have gone out of their way to make their home seem like yours. This home is perfect for any family group and especially for one with children. Other notable assets include both the peaceful wooded setting with easy hiking access, as well as the home’s layout, to include a large gathering room perfect for a larger family or group.

Beautiful property surrounded by woods. House was perfect, well appointed, wonderful beds and linens, an incredible playroom full of toys for kids, ping pong table. Kitchen very well equipped. Great home, great location

We had three different family groups in this home. The set up was perfect with a play room for the kids on the same floor as their bedroom. And a bedroom for their parents right across the hall. Bedroom on the middle floor where the kitchen and dining room were also located. Perfect for the cook of the group. The upper level also has it's own private and beautiful bedroom and bath. The deer were plentiful, the sunrises a blessing and all in all a great place. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

Everything was perfect! Just as described and all the reviews were spot on. The Haven was fabulously appointed and nothing has been overlooked. We cooked at home and ate out. We loved the location as a bunch USAFA grads here for their 50th reunion. Appreciate all the attention to detail.

Won’t stay anywhere else!

This is our second time to stay here! Kelly and Judy have furnished The Haven with anything and everything you will need. The location is perfect for anyone with events at the Air Force Academy and the views are breathtaking. Due to airline issues, we arrived a day late, while one of our party was on time. Kelly and Judy graciously let another family member check in AND gave us information on transportation from Denver instead of Colorado Springs. The home made bread and fresh flowers are just an example of their thoughtfulness. We will be back!

Wedding Getaway

The property is a well maintained, beautiful location with everything you can imagine you will need for a multigenerational stay. The owners take pride in having something for everyone, including a converted garage full of toys and activities for all age children, games, ping pong, books, coloring books, lego and more! The kitchen is extremely well stocked with cooking basics, many appliances (I brought some from home I didn't need) and plenty of dishes/cups/glasses for a large crowd. The large kitchen appliances plus a beverage fridge made cooking for a crowd easy. The home is spacious and bright with great views from the top story. There are many fans available to keep everyone cool. A great place to hike on public land is just a short walk away. The outdoor deck with table and chairs and umbrella made for a pleasant place to eat. Two more outdoor sitting areas were great to have a bit of quiet time away from the activity. The outdoor grounds are beautiful, and the hosts were more than helpful in showing us their beautiful property, as well as leaving us a home made loaf of fresh bread, a vase of fresh flowers, and a lovely tour of the home with all it's amenities. Highly recommend!

A Perfect Haven

We travel to Colorado multiple times each year, and The Haven has definitely become our new favorite place. With family in Parker and a wedding in Larkspur, the location was absolutely perfect. Kelly and Judy were the most gracious and generous hosts! From fresh flowers, to fresh bread, to perfect hiking recommendations and the most thoughtfully stocked house - we wanted for nothing. The peaceful and tranquil location had beautiful views and enough space for family and friends. We loved coming back and relaxing after long days hiking and exploring the area. All the thoughtful little touches throughout the house really made it feel like home. We highly recommend this property and we will definitely will be back!

Really is a haven

We came in for a wedding with our teenage kids and made the trip into a vacation. This was the absolute perfect place to stay because the setting is so beautiful, located at the base of Mt. Herman, and within walking distance of that part of the national forest. While our teenage kids slept late, we enjoyed the setting and scenery as much as we did doing other touristy things while we were there. There is a view of Mt. Herman in one direction and views of some mini-farms, including horses and donkeys, in other directions. The house is incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated with "cabin" decor that is not over the top, and the space is perfect for a family. The kids had rooms across from each other on the lower level with a shared bath, there is another bath and bedroom on the main level, and then a beautiful and peaceful master suite on the top floor with windows that look out onto Mt. Herman. If you stay in the summer, be mindful that the bedrooms may get warm if it is hot that day, but for us, it was worth being able to stay there, and there are many fans in the house that you can move around wherever you want them. We loved this place and are so glad we booked it. The host was lovely, helpful, and easy to communicate with. The ping pong table was perfect for entertaining our teens when we weren't doing touristy things, and we used it daily. This really is a haven and we highly recommend!
