'The few days were spent in a very comfortable apartment that had all the necessary fixtures and fittings to support our stay. However, the only concern was that the quilt on the beds were not summer quilts and as such sleeping was a problem, so much so that one of us slept in a single bed in the other bedroom. 'I had a lovely single room with a small fridge and a fan which made a big difference in this heat. My ensuite shower worked well. The toilet was outside the room..which was less convenient though. The room was on the first floor and I have slight mobility issues so that was a bit tricky but James took my luggage up and brought it back down for me..and I got more used to the stairs. The Guest house is clean and bright..and the owners James and Christine are lovely.and friendly. I hope to return...

'Wij hadden oorspronkelijk 2 kamers geboekt bij de Torcroft en moesten er helaas 1 annuleren. Bij aankomst 's avonds in het hotel bleken echter beide kamers geannuleerd te zijn. Foutje van Expedia of van het hotel. Wij weten het niet. Er waren ook geen kamers meer vrij. De eigenaren van het hotel vonden dit zelf ook heel vervelend voor ons en hebben ervoor gezorgd dat wij een kamer kregen bij hun buren (Riviera 1). 'Nog nooit zo welkom gevoeld in een hotel. Phil en Sharon heten je echt welkom, had hier eerder het gevoel te logeren bij vrienden dan hotelgasten te zijn. Probeer zeker het echte engelse ontbijt, heerlijk. Als ik nog een keer in Torquay een overnachting zoek zal ik zeker hier terug komen. '

'We were in room 1. It was immaculate, big comfy bed Fantastic shower, tea and coffee and a well stocked kitchen that was spotlessly clean. Alexa in kitchen to enjoy music if required. Access was easy and instructions regarding everything were in the folder in the room. Really enjoyed our stay would definitely stay again and recommend as well to family and friends.'

'A very nice stay , last minute booking, very warmly greeted on arrival, asked what I wanted for breakfast and what time. Nice comfortable room with adaquate en-suite facilities with plenty of water provided in the room. In the morning, I was again greeted in a warm manner and had one of the best breakfasts I’ve had. I’ve paid double price and not had this quality. The owners really couldn’t do enough for me. '

'Beautiful pub opposite a babbling brook. So pretty. Made welcome from the start. Lovely double room with all you need. Great breakfast that sets you up for the day and ate there each of our four evenings. Food very good. Would highly recommend so long as you are happy to drive down very narrow country lanes and reversing back every so often as they are one vehicle roads. Part of being in the country as is being woken by the bleating sheep, quaking ducks and flying geese. Loved it. '
