'I stayed here, but there was no lantern or scissors provided, and the lantern in my friend’s unit was broken too. So I asked for a replacement, but I was told there wasn’t one available and to just deal with it. I asked them to help resolve the issue, but all they said was to talk to the manager in the morning. I think that is very poor customer service.'

Even though throughout the facility no smoking signs are plate. Breakfast was coffee and cold cereal. The room was not very clean and not in good repair. 'Whenever I'm traveling thru Southern CT on business, the Lamplighter is my go to for staying over. Clean room. Comfortable bed, plenty of Hot Water, microwave and mini fridge, good TV. Reasonable price, close to the highway. Restaurants within walking distance. It has it all.'

'The first room had bugs and dead bugs all over the room. Bathroom had a spider on the ceiling and smelt musty. Second room was a bit cleaner but the shower curtain was dirty along with the shower floor. Blinds and curtain didn’t fully cover for privacy'

'Amanda was lovely: very helpful and she made such delicious breakfasts every morning fresh. The house is charming. It feels like it’s in the middle of the quaintest tiny villages but Hartford is under 30 minutes away and New Haven was an easy 45 minutes. The bed was comfortable and the room was huge. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.'

'The building and grounds need maintenance. There's rotting window sills and rain damage on the ceiling, spots of bleach on the carpets and the doorknob of a closet came off in my hand. The TV in the room is incredibly small, the size of a computer screen. You don't come to a hotel to watch TV but like showers, you expect a nice experience. The breakfasts were ok, but not great.'

'The Super 8 in Old Saybrook is located in a very convenient spot. The room in which I stayed was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked--so far, so good. The TV was terrible. The horrible reception made it almost unwatchable--there were fuzzy lines going across the screen, and the sound quality was muffled. The room had quite a few lamps, but not all of them worked.'

'This was the last stay in a week-long road trip. This hotel was the best we were at. The room was clean, the breakfast was great, and it was obvious that all facets of the hotel have been updated recently. All in all, this is a great hotel that I would definitely stay at again.'

'So charming! The Inn itself is nicely furnished in a cozy manner, curated with interesting collections of things and vintage or antique objects throughout.
