WARNING TO FUTURE GUESTS: I am writing this feedback as a deeply disappointed guest at the Woodlands Resort, Texas (Curio Collection by Hilton), who recently booked 4 rooms for 4 nights over the Christmas holiday. This resort not only fell short but demonstrated fraudulent practices and deserves 1 star, not 4 or 5 stars.
Before arrival at the property, we called the resort and were told there would be both free and paid kids activities, the lazy river was available (website said "not heated" but definitely not "closed"), we could warm food in the lobby, and buffet breakfast was available daily, and not only on weekends, as we were later told upon arrival. NONE of this was, however, true upon arrival; and we received constant misinformation, causing frustration, emotional distress, and embarrassment, especially having brought family from out of town.
Despite almost NO resort amenities available, including broken in-room refrigerator, coffee maker, and power outlets, we were charged full resort fees for all 4 rooms for 4 nights. Charging for services not provided is NOTHING BUT SCAM.
Other resorts disclose off-season service levels transparently. What we experienced was deliberate deception designed to secure bookings. The 60,000 HHonors points offered is insulting given the pain of a ruined family holiday.
As frequent resort travelers with Marriott Vacation Club ownership, we know what to expect from a resort. If we were scammed, others should be warned before booking here!!!
