Sunrise over the ocean and Wild Horses to start your day
Beatiful home with many amenities. Fully equipped kitchen. A lot of space to be on your own or hang out together. Views are spectacular. Tim was very easy to communicate with and very helpful. Make sure you rent a 4x4 if you are getting a rental. It’s a really interesting experience. Definitely a great getaway. Plan ahead to prepare for drives to go places or food shop on the way. The drive is eight miles on the 4x4 beach so there are no local restaurants or stores until you get to the main road. Would definitely recommend if this is what you are looking for!

Great time even with issues
This home is absolutely beautiful. We checked in with no issues. Within the first several hours the blower on the middle floor went out. The owner immediately addressed the issue and had window units installed. The pool is truly lovely. The location is awesome. The decks and walkways could use some attention, but it’s an absolutely wonderful place to stay! Tim is truly amazing and attentive.

Outstanding!
We have rented many times in the OBX and this was one the best! If you can handle the 4x4 drive to get there, you will love this property. You can walk from the house to the pool then over the dune and onto the beach! We also saw horses everyday - including a visit into our carport! The owner was also super friendly and a great communicator.

Our group of friends had a wonderful stay at Tim’s house in Carova. Tim was more than helpful and extremely responsive. The house is absolutely beautiful and so well maintained. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The beds are all comfortable, and the appointments in the house have a perfect feel of beach chic. Access to the beach is right over the dune. The hot tub and pool were lovely too. I highly recommend a stay in Tim’s home.

This was a fantastic place to spend my daughter’s spring break in the off season, with incredible direct beach access, unforgettable sunrises and sunsets and a beautifully furnished home with pieces I would seek out “in real life.” It was also spotlessly clean and smelled fresh as soon as you walked in, which I’ve found to be rare for beach rentals. The owner was very communicative, helpful and responsive, which we appreciated. We loved every minute and it genuinely felt like a comfortable, peaceful home away from home—we won’t soon forget our time here, and if you book you won’t, either!

The house was perfect for the family. The four bedrooms with four baths gave everyone the privacy that needed. The house is directly on the beach which made it easy to go back to the house for lunch! It was an experience riding on the beach to get to the house. . We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. I highly recommend the house.

Great Overall Value and A must Try if you never have been to the 4x4 zone.
Beautiful house. Great location. Host was responsive. Definitely would visit again. My only feedback would be that there needs to be a second fridge or separate beverage fridge. We traveled in group of 4 and it was tight mainly due to beverage storage. On a side note (general 4x4 zone tip), be very, very careful traveling to the property, we did over $1800 damage to the underside of our vehicle due to being loaded down (This would apply to any house in the 4x4 zone requiring beach travel). Stay on the hard pack as much as possible and personally I wouldn't drive in others tracks as many suggest. The problem wasn't getting stuck in the sand, it was bottoming out due to ground clearance. With that as stated I would definitely revisit the house, the location is amazing.

We were extremely pleased with this property, start to finish. I would hands down recommend this one. Tim was extremely responsive (not that we needed anything) but his availability was greatly appreciated. It was clean and the pictures were on point with the property. If you’re like me and read the reviews prior to making a decision- this is the one! It should be 5/5 stars. The one bad review here is a very poor misrepresentation of the property. We LOVED it and had the best vacation!

Beautiful Family Vaca with Horses Of course!
A wonderful home that was such a treat to stay in. We had a huge group and this was the second house we rented for the more relaxed people in the group. Very quiet and peaceful and provided a perfect spot for accessing the beach. There are TONS of opportunities to see the horses as they seem to love the carport. We enjoyed every minute and would very much recommend this house to anyone.

Beautiful home in a wonderful location !!
This home is GORGEOUS and the location IDEAL. Oceanfront, spectacular sunrises, wild horses in the yard, very comfortable furniture and beds (cozy sheets and bedspread too), well equipped/stocked home with everything you could need. Loved the hot tub and swimming pool too !! The guys enjoyed the easy walk to the park for fishing and we all enjoyed the often exciting ride (on the beach) to and from the grocery store. We did get stuck in the sand a couple of times, but helpful beachgoers with pickup truck or Jeep were always nearby (with a tow rope) to pull us out and get us on our way again, lol. From start to finish, Tim was awesome !! He always responded to questions immediately and was always very friendly and helpful. We all loved our stay and would highly recommend this home to others. It is quiet, peaceful and a great place to unwind and de-stress. A+ experience !! Thank you so much for everything Tim. We loved spending time reading in your favorite place (ours too!!). OBX GEM!
This house is BEAUTIFUL! What a perfect vacation home! The views were breathtaking! Tim, the owner is beyond friendly! He made the whole process very easy! The house was spotlessly clean and in tiptop shape. All of the furnishings were high end, down to the dishes & mugs that were from Pottery Barn! The house looks just like the photographs! It is fully stocked with pots, pans, baking sheets, mixer, blender, board games and puzzles galore! The kids and adults had so much fun building the "Pop Art" puzzle, playing cards, and Catan! The pool was perfect for our group. We enjoyed watching the sunrise each morning on the beach, then having our coffee on the deck. The cherry on top was the WILD HORSES! They were beautiful! We went out for a morning run and there were the horses, Barbecuing on the deck...there were the horses, having coffee on the deck in the morning...there were the horses, relaxing on the beach...there were the horses! We all loved seeing them up close and personal! We had our own private tours daily! We also got to see some fox, and some deer prints on the beach. "Running on Faith" gave us som many family memories that we will cherish forever!

Our family recently stayed at Running on Faith for the first time. The natural unspoiled nature of the area speaks for itself. The house was more than we could have asked for. Spacious rooms with upscale amenities, fully stocked high end kitchen, wonderful pool and hot tub, large kitchen table. Our family thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this beautiful home. Heaven on earth
What a amazing vacation for all of us. The home is exactly as listed- just beautiful! The views are spectacular, walk out of the door and your on the beach. Tim makes the process easy and you want for nothing. We had the wild horses around the property all week-a huge bonus. You need a 4 wheel drive to reach property, but again Tim’s direction for driving n the beach was a breeze with no issues. Running on Faith is the perfect place for families to get downtime and just enjoy life. Thank you once again Tim.

Gorgeous house and location
The house was great and the location was amazing if u have 4wd. The host was very easy to communicate with and helped with any issues we had. LOVED seeing the horses and it felt like a magical paradise on the beach early mornings and evenings when we walked. The only thing I would warn people coming about is there are spikes little burrs in the surrounding landscape that are super painful if u tough them. I was constantly pulling them out of our dogs and it made taking them out and walking them difficult. Other then that it was a great spot.

The house is beautiful and in great condition. There were some minor issues in the beginning but the Tim was very responsive and helpful. The location is great if you want some seclusion right on the beach. I wish I had been able to stay. I strong recommend this house if you are considering staying in Corolla.

Beautiful house but owner ruined our stay
We stayed may 9th-16th. The house is great. It’s better than the pictures and we generally had a good time. Furnishings are nice and the kitchen is well stocked which is important when you’re 30-40 mins from grocery stores etc Before booking I asked the owner Tim if the pool was heated, as that was a deal breaker for us, and he assured me he could set the pool to 86 degrees before our arrival. I then asked him if he had any room to save us some money as I was looking at booking only two weeks out and he offered to throw in the pool heating fee. Great.. we booked. When we arrived the pool was 68 degrees. I contacted tim and he let me know that since they cannot cover the pool due to liability it’s hard to heat the pool when the outside temperatures are what they are (60s daytime 50s nighttime). I felt the property was misrepresented to me but I wasn’t going to let that ruin our fun as we had driven 12 hours to be there. At checkout time we were reminded to please bag all trash and take it to the curb, remove all linens and place them in the laundry room and empty the refrigerator completely. Sounded reasonable and we of course complied happily. About two hours after departing I received a fury of messages from Tim. He cursed me out and then began insulting my family. VRBO has access to our messages and they are free to confirm Tim’s conduct. He’s now attempting to charge me thousands of dollars for moving a bunk bed 6 inches to install the included frame rails that were in the room when we arrived (but not attached) and also I had to move a few Adirondack chairs on the third floor deck away from the edge (very high) to assure my toddler was safe from falling. There were 3 guests at the home. My wife our 2 year old and I. There weren’t any parties or anything of the sort. Anyone who has travelled with a toddler knows it can be challenging to make a room safe for a child to sleep in and we were in no way trying to be destructive. Just protecting our child like any parent would. I was entirely caught off guard by his verbal abuse and I wish he would have taken a more professional approach to the whole thing. It was stressful enough being 20 miles up a beach road with no gas and a long drive. Now instead of going home and feeling relaxed I have to call my attorney and spend more money. Very disappointed.

The house was left a complete mess. Dirty dishes on counters, food was thrown all over the floors and sink was full of empty cans of food and dirty dishes. I have kept photos so you can see that Thomas is not telling the truth. The bunk beds were moved away from the wall and they broke the leg of the bunk beds. I also have photos of this as well. The contract for the home clearly states that furniture is not to be moved, for this very reason. Obviously Thomas did not comply with the rules. This could not be repaired and I ultimately I had to pay for damage caused by Thomas. There was an additional cleaning charge of $150 that I paid since Thomas again did not comply with check out procedures. The pool temp can be set to a max of 86. Anyone who owns a pool knows that the water temp depends in large part on the overnight temp. Thus the pool did not get above 73 degrees because overnight temp were in the 50's. Thomas was not charged for pool heating and I explained all this to him. I have rated Thomas as 1 star so that other owners do not have the same experience that I had. I would assume that is why Thomas has rated me as a 1 star. I have rented my home Running on Faith for over 22 years and have earned one of the highest ratings and premier status on VRBO. It is unfortunate that renters like Thomas don't adhere to rules and treat others property with little respect.

Lovely stay
This was our first visit to the Outerbanks and we truly enjoyed it. We weren't sure about driving on the beach but we drove to NC from Wisconsin so we had our jeep - and it was no problem at all. Driving at low tide is wise, especially when you're new it this. But we drove at other times as well and it went just fine. We are used to driving in snow, so using some of those same principles made it easier. The area is so unique with the miles and miles of sand dunes are so beautiful. Horses walked across the lawn and we saw them in the neighborhood as well. The weather in March is unpredictable, colder and windy sometimes, so we would drive the sand roads in the neighborhood occasionally to look for horses instead of walking. Hot tub was great. Kite flying was a hit. A highlight, also, was the Outerbanks fish boil - they came to the home and we had crab and shrimp with the extras like corn on the cob, potatoes and corn bread and the family all enjoyed this. The property manager was very responsive if we ever had a question. Suggestions: if you vacation in March, just bring warm clothes! The outdoors is great if you dress for it.

House was just as described and pictured. Tim was super responsive no matter the time of day and to even the most minor questions. There was everything you could possibly need to ensure a comfortable stay. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing. The dogs loved walking and running on the beach. We couldn’t imagine staying in main Corolla again - we loved the seclusion and privacy. We will definitely stay here again, maybe when it’s warmer so we can use the pool!

New Year Getaway
Our family was in need of a getaway and we opted for Corova because it was remote and offered us a safe place during the pandemic. Running with Faith provided us with the perfect setting for our family to gather and bond. The open floor plan provided us lots of space to gather yet we still had our own bedrooms and bathrooms. During our first sunrise, we were greeted by two wild horses right on the property. Just beautiful... We saw horses on most days all over the beach. On our way home, we even had the joy of catching a seal resting on the sand. The sunrises and sunsets were exquisite. Being winter, we enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace. There were a few things that came up when we arrived but Tim, the owner, was responsive and we found him to be such a wonderful host. Anyone looking to get away in the OBX will find a haven in Running with Faith.

Amazing house and view!!!!!
I have just one complaint, the front door key pad didn’t work and the backup key wasn’t in the lock box. Luckily the side door was unlocked so we could access. When I say this house is amazing, I swear you will not be dissatisfied with your stay. Contacting the property manager was as easy as a text or call, direction take you directly there and the house was very clean. Kitchen was stocked with spices and other basic items needed for cooking too.

This property is definitely “out there” and on the remote side. I was a little wary when we first got there but quickly realized how special of a location it actually was. Wonderful Stay!
We had a wonderful time! The house is beautiful with updated furniture and a very calming interior. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. There are even chairs on the back deck to watch the sunset every night. Tim was so helpful and very easy to get in touch with. We were lucky enough to get quite close to the wild horses. much to my daughters' delight, we were awoken one morning by 4 horses in the carport! My only suggestion is to provide shade at the pool. In the picture there is a sail over the pool and we could see the posts were there, but there was no sail/no shade at all. The beach was so windy that an umbrella could not be used, so we didn't really have any choice but to be in the sun doing the day ( not ideal.) Other than the lack of shade, the home and location are great! We would love to return to this beautiful, well cared for home!

What can I say except another great year staying at Running on Faith our home away from home. Tim is a wonderful host and has been every year since we started staying at his beautiful home. We love it so much that this year we stayed for two weeks rather than one and going forward will continue our tradition of staying at Running on Faith. A beautiful and peaceful week
This was our first visit to the Outter banks and won’t be our last. My wife and I loved it. The house and all the rooms were spotless and large. The kitchen was fully stocked. Each room had it’s own flat screen TV with WiFi. This was a big change of place for us as we tent to cruise a lot. We absolutely loved it and so did our dog. We loved the large bay windows and sliding glass doors. The view of the ocean and the morning sun rises were unbelievable. The wild horses were a plus.
