Geniet van kajakken, paddle-boarding, zwemmen, varen of vissen recht voor de deur en af en toe bezoeken van de lokale wilde paarden. Ontspan op het afgeschermde terras of leun achterover bij een vuur en geniet van een avond met cocktails of smores met familie en vrienden. Slechts een korte rit of een wandeling naar het strand. This was a perfect spot. Two of our 3 children leave the nest this summer/fall, one to basic training and one to college, so we wanted a quiet spot w/ lots of opportunities for family fun and time together. This was perfect. We spent every waking moment out on the canal or in the yard. The SUPs & kayak were used daily. Our youngest was on the water every chance he got. We cooked every meal in the very well stocked kitchen. I made shrimp & grits, ceviche, fish tacos, steak & oysters, biscuits & gravy, every meal. We stopped at Seaside Market & bought fresh seafood. Amazing. The grill was great! A herd of 5 horses, inluding a very young filly, visited the yard twice. My daughter had to get out of the hammock & to the deck to maintain the madatory 50ft distance. They hung out for awhile then got into the canal for a while. We had an oprey hang out straight out early every morning, nutria swimming in the canal, a beautiful huge heron on the dock at the end of the canal. Very little boat traffic because of the perfect location of the property. The water around the dock was about waist deep for us. The house and property were beautiful and clean. We went to the beach several times. It was nice loading the truck & being able to drive straight to the water. No lugging big bags/ carts down to setup. Just pop the hatch and throw a tent up. Our dog loved everything about this vacation, too. Next time I'll bring more bottled/jugs of water.

The property was amazing and just as advertised. We came for the wild horses and were not disappointed as they appeared multiple times each day. Driving down the beach road was just so much fun to experience. It was the perfect get away for our family of four. Places to rest and relax, near the beach, and water activities in the back.

Charming Cottage

Our stay here was excellent! We enjoyed using the kayaks, trying a little fishing, and having a bonfire. The location of the cottage was perfect for spending the day on beach and then coming back to relax in the evening.

This little piece of heaven was very relaxing. They had every amenity I could have wanted. The adventurous drive on the beach was new a different for us. Staying here we got to see horses right in the canal. Such a magical stay.

Anniversary getaway

This is our second time staying here! And we will be booking again for September. We absolutely love it here, the peace, seclusion, 4x4 adventures and nature is everything our soul needs to reboot. The house has everything you need and makes you feel like you are at home. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the River otters play. My husband caught some bass and crabs in the canal outback. The horses are a beautiful bonus watching them in the wild.

This was our first experience to Carova Beach. It was the best stay for us with 81 year old mother and two dogs. This place was so accommodating in the kitchen as well as the other areas. We couldn’t find one bad thing about it. We are already talking about coming back in the fall. Thank you for such a great time.

Peacful Stay

From the egrets roosting at senset across the water to wild horses grazing in the yard, this place connects you with nature. Quick access to the sound and coves to kayak, and a quick drive to the beach. Exploring the surrounding areas in your 4x4 is a treat. It was a great place to disconnect from the rest of the world and be present in your getaway. Hosts were above and beyond. Nearly all aspects of our stay exceeded our expectations.

A True Getaway!

We loved our weekend at the Dew Drop Inn! It was super relaxing and refreshing. The cottage had all we needed—very cute and stylish. It was perfect for my husband and I. The horses came into the yard as we were sitting out in the evening. Everything was comfortable and easy!

Plan to Stay Longer

We arrived in Norfolk frazzled by life but the drive to OBX and ensuing beach drive literally helped us depressurize like our tire air pressure. Our hosts provided great directions, a clean and cozy home, and all the watercraft toys we could have hoped for, plus fishing gear. Four nights was definitely too short, just sayin’.

Incredible Stay

Had a fantastic time staying on this perfect property. There was no shortage of visitors (wild horses) everyday, and a ton of things to do in and around the area. Navigating the beach during high tide is one of the funnest things I've ever done, but I should have paid closer attention to the tide charts - people do get stuck. My favorite part of this trip was starting a fire at sunset and having 2 horses climb out of the water and saunter right past me. I barely had time to snap a photo! It was breathtaking, and I can't wait to be back!

Super cute little cottage

Super cute little cottage on the calm waters connected to the sound. Very well stocked kitchen and comfy furnishings. Check the tides and the weather coming in/out! Can be quite the adventure. Surprisingly good internet and cell service was nice on a rainy day. And yes, wild horses are all around!

Tranquil get away

Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. Beautiful, clean and quiet property with everything you need to have a perfect stay on 4x4 beach. And the horses off the balcony almost every morning were breath taking. The host was very friendly and quick to respond to any questions. Definitely would recommend this place.

EXCELLENT!!!!!

The home is exactly as pictured, and offers EvErYtHiNg.. down to the little things you'll forget to pack! The appliances are top of the line. The fridge is spacious as well as the freezer. We did utilize our cooler as well, because we packed for four people. The beds are very comfy Sleep Numbers! We truly appreciated that after paddle boarding and peddle boating all day. Both rooms offer a tv, as well. The water pressure in the shower was Excellent, as well as the outdoor shower.. which was very convenient after being on the beach all day! We are the type of people who usually go out to eat while on vacation, but for the first time on vacation, NONE of us wanted to leave! This place is that much of a TREAT! Waking up, brewing coffee from the breakfast bar and sitting outside to sip our coffee and take in the view of the horses, water, and birds was a delight! The tree swings were pretty neat and relaxing at the same time..kind of brought out the kid in us! We also enjoyed a night with the bonfire pit. :) The communication was Exceptional. The house was CLEAN!! The towels even came sanitized in their own protective wrapping.. each wrap consisted of 2 bath towels, a hand towel, and a wash cloth; and, there were PLENTY of sets provided. We also enjoyed the LARGE selection of games. Every night was game night!! The 4 of us could just not stop talking about how GREAT this place truly is! We'll DEFINITELY book again for next year..but we will ADD a few more days next time!!

Perfect cottage stay

We were pleasantly surprised at how much they had in this house to make it feel exactly like home! We didn’t have to pack over half the stuff we packed because of how stocked this home is! It’s very cozy and CLEAN!! My kids were on the canal every day multiple times on paddle boards, kayak and pedal boat they had there. I am a travel agent and will be recommending my clients to this home 100%. The owner is very responsive and sweet also.

Was an amazing place to stay. Was happy to find space above the coffee station to put our goodies. House was stocked with everything we needed to cook in. Relaxing Get Away

My wife and I was on a trip to visit relatives and decided to add a few days and check out the Outer Banks. The Dew Drop Inn was exactly as promised in the ad description. Driving close to 8 miles on a beautiful beach to get to the cottage was a treat in itself. Wild horses were seen around the cottage everyday we were there. One night we stayed out on beach until sunset and on returning to the cottage there was wild horses bedded down under the cottage in the parking space. We were amazed at the seclusion of the area and how it was easy to find a section of beach to park at and have a 100 yards or better of beach to ourselves. Wife definitely wants to schedule another stay here.
