This beautiful 2600 sq/ft one story home is the perfect canal front coastal getaway and offers kayaking and fishing in a cozy waterfront community. Bahia Bay is situated in front of Estes Flats and is convenient to both Rockport and Port Aransas.

Before considering Reel Southern Retreat, please know that Bahia Bay is a quiet neighborhood and is not suitable for loud, rambunctious partying.

The open concept and spacious layout of this home maximizes its waterfront feel and is perfect for a family vacation or a winter stay. From December through March, the home is available for monthly rentals only at a 50% discount! Perfect for the winter Texan.

The living, kitchen, and dining areas are all sizable and airy. The well appointed kitchen is modern with granite countertops and stainless appliances.

There are three bedrooms and a large sunroom in addition to the main living/dining areas. The primary bedroom has a king sized bed and a bathroom with separate tub and shower. the other two bedrooms each have queen sized beds and share a bathroom with a shower. The sunroom spans the canal front side of the home and has both an additional living area and two twin beds with trundles for a total of four twin mattresses.

The canal front deck is shady and inviting and provides seating for dining and lounging. Whether you are enjoying your morning coffee, evening cocktail, grilling your catch of the day, or dining al fresco, the setting is roomy and relaxing. The deck is covered with a vine covered pergola for filtered sun, and the dock has seating by the water, a fish cleaning station, and a ladder for kayaking/swimming access. All you need to bring is your fishing equipment. Please indicate in your inquiry if you plan to bring your boat! The 2-car garage is available to you as well.

There is Sling streaming with upgraded sports package, PS3 (bring your games), 5 flat-screen TVs, and an assortment of games and puzzles.

Reel Southern Retreat offers safety and easy accessibility for mature guests, but please be aware there are a few steps from the deck to the dock area.

The home is a 15 minute drive to the ferry landing to Port Aranas. We are awaiting your arrival so plan your trip to historic Rockport and get ready for world class fishing! We live locally so assistance during your stay is a phone call away.

Pets considered on a case by case basis, and require an extra cleaning fee of $100. Please let me know in your inquiry if you would like to bring your pet so we can talk specifically. We love and travel with our dog too, but we have to make sure we welcome pets that will help us keep Reel Southern Retreat nice for all our guests!

Great stay at Reel Southern

We had a lovely time at Reel Southern. The house is well appointed and has all the comforts of a home away from home. It was spacious and there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We really enjoyed fishing off the dock and we even saw a dolphin swim by. The sunroom is also a nice feature. The neighborhood is quiet, and is conveniently located a short drive to stores ans eateries. We wouldn't hesitant to rent this home again next time we are in Rockport.

The perfect get away

This was a great vacation, from the booking through the end of our stay at Reel Southern Retreat. Prior to booking, Ellen answered any questions we had, and sent details about our trip rapidly so we could plan ahead. The house was very clean, welcoming, and had everything we needed ready for us. We loved the flowers on the back deck, and it was great to relax out back in the morning with coffee or in the evening as the sun went down. It was ideal to have the the dock out back for our boat, so we could head out each day for fishing. It was a nice, quiet neighborhood, which made for a very relaxing vacation.

Most Excellent

This is one of the best homes we have rented over the past 19 years in the Rockport area. Plenty of room, wonderful amenities, and very relaxing. Loved the sunroom!! I only wish the one side of the yard was enclosed, other than that, everything was just perfect! The hostess touched base with us before and during our stay, which was very nice and thoughtful. AND this property has 2 trash pickups, which is great especially if you are staying for an entire week.

Amazing house, attentive owners, fabulous for fishing trip!

I am beyond pleased that we chose this property for our fishing trip. The house is spacious, stocked with everything you could need, comfy beds, and a location that is perfect for fishing on the bay. We brought our boat, parked it in the slip, making it easy to jet out morning, afternoon, and evening each day. Even caught a couple of Mangrove Snappers off the dock. Super, super place.

Wonderful host!! Above and Beyond!!

We had two couples stay for two weeks at this wonderful property for a winter getaway. Everything was well stocked and Ellen even got us a few items that we had not expected to need. Communication was awesome!! I would not hesitate to book this lovely home in Rockport. You will not be disappointed!! We went to the beach in Port Aransas and Rockport. Both are nice. PA is softer sand and much longer beach. Rockport had very nice restrooms and tiki huts for shade, more pebble like sand. Paradise Key had the best Red Snapper!! Took a day trip to San Antonio to The Alamo and Riverwalk. This was a great vacation!!

Southern Comfort

Mother Nature was not very kind to us the week of our stay however if chilly weather chases you inside, there wasn’t a better place to be than the warm welcoming sunroom in this home. It was my favorite room! The home itself is decorated nicely, the rooms quite spacious with a very well appointed kitchen. Really didn’t need to bring a thing for cooking. The kitchen had everything needed. I spent many hours in the sunroom looking out over the bird life in the canal. The neighborhood is also one of our favorites in the area. It’s quiet and kept up very well. We plan to be back when Mother Nature gets happy again! Also…great communication with Ellen as well.

Family Week

We stayed the week of Thanksgiving 2022. Our party included an age range of 57 years - 18 months. The house was a perfect place for our group. Plenty of room, kitchen and bathrooms well stocked.
