We spent one week at the villa in late September. We enjoyed very much the kindness and hospitality of the owners. The gardens surrounding the house are very interesting, as well as how the house is organized. The owners have devoted energy in creating a very pleasant property to enjoy, and were helpful in providing tips for restaurants and wineries. A place to remember!

True Vacation

We spent a week with our 2 children at Jasmina this past June. It was truly a wonderful, peaceful, and inspiring place! We would take day trips to small towns in the morning and return in the afternoon to spend time on the beautifully maintained grounds and the large refreshing swimming pool. My husband and son enjoyed playing soccer in the soccer field, as well. The best part was the owners Steven and Vicki. They were very welcoming and were able to give us many local suggestions for food and activities. We would definitely like to return soon!

Fantastic Place

I have rented several villas in Italy over the years. This one tops them all. My wife and I spent two weeks here with our friends of over 50 years who were visiting Italy for the first time. Our hosts Vicky and Steve made this a most memorable visit. The villa was spotless, the grounds immaculate and wonderfully landscaped, and it’s setting in the surrounding countryside was perfect. The villa is very centrally located for touring all the hill towns of Tuscany and Umbria, and there is a small village nearby in walking distance that is home to a great restaurant. You can’t go wrong booking this villa. We plan to return. Thank you Steve and Vicky for a wonderful visit.

Quel bonheur de séjourner dans un si bel endroit situé à la frontière entre Toscane et Ombrie La maison est magnifique Le jardin de 4 hectares magnifiquement paysagé aussi La piscine est grande L'endroit est parfait pour sillonner la Toscane et l'Ombrie Seul bemol si on peut en trouver un les lits un peu étroits dans la chambre enfants Les Hôtes anglais sont très accueillants et vraiment charmants Tout cela nous donne vraiment envie de revenir

Beautiful country escape

Although we were here too early to enjoy the swimming pool and barbecue, we thoroughly enjoyed the wildflowers, green grass and hillsides of Tuscany. We loved the peace and quiet and old world charm of Jasmina during May. We took easy trips to Cortona, Montepulciano, Pienza and Lake Trasimeno and visited wineries and found wonderful restaurants when we were not enjoying cooking the local food in our own kitchen. We enjoyed the time to just relax under the sail cover of our patio. Highly recommend this lovely property.

A Idyllic Tuscan Location!

An absolutely perfect base to explore the wonderful Tuscan countryside and cities. We stayed for one week in Jasmina with our two daughters and couldn't have found a better villa. The pool was perfect and larger than expected! The villa itself was beautifully and luxuriously appointed and well equipped with whatever we needed. We simply didn't want to leave..... Our hosts Vicki and Steven ensured we were well informed and very comfortably looked after and have obviously poured a lot of love and care into Violina, creating an idyllic Italian retreat. We will absolutely return for another stay....there's just too much of Tuscany left to explore....

A beautifully restored house and grounds.

Our family of 4 enjoyed a very relaxing week in Jasmina. Vicki and Steven met us on our arrival and were incredibly welcoming and genuinely cared that we enjoyed our stay at their beautiful house. The boys (ages 6 and 10) spent most of their time in the very clean and roomy pool which was a very comfortable temperature, while we soaked up the Tuscan sunshine! The house itself was beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable with sofas that you could sink into after a hard day by the pool. The kitchen contained everything that we needed and we enjoyed using the bar b q and eating al fresco under the sail canopy of our outdoor dining area. Cortona is just a 10 - 15 minute drive away and well worth a visit as it is a stunning walled city full of Italian charm and winding cobbled streets. I would say that the photos of Jasmina do not do it justice, as it really is the loveliest holiday home that we have ever stayed in and we can't recommend it highly enough.

Fabulous location with great amenities Malissa O

We had the pleasure of staying at Jasmina for 18 nights this spring. This property offers a tranquil setting amongst the beautiful Tuscan countryside, and has a location that provides easy access to a number of nearby towns and sights. We thoroughly enjoyed being in close proximity to Cortona, which is a delightful and full of charming shops and wonderful spots to walk. We were hosted by the owners who happened to be on sight during our visit, they were incredibly gracious and went out of their way to make our stay exceptional. Overall, I would definitely recommend Jasmina to any traveler who is looking for a charming, well appointed property that offers a great location.

Peaceful retreat with a bonus

When we booked this property, we knew it had the perfect location for all of the day trips that we were going to make in our almost 3 weeks in Tuscany. It was also the perfect size and had all the amenities that we were looking for (dishwasher, washing machine, pool, full kitchen, modern furnishings, window screens, etc.). But what we had not imagined was the bonus of having the owners in residence next door. In addition to being helpful with places to see and things to do, offering DVD's, and borrowing some excellent tea, they also became fast friends. They are a delightful couple who were gracious and outgoing - even inviting us for cocktails! We are already planning a return visit next year to enjoy the peaceful and beautiful retreat that this remodeled farmhouse offered for our home away from home - and to reconnect with Vicki and Steven (and their charming dog Rosie)!

Beautiful Tuscan farmhouse in excellent location

We had a fantastic Tuscan holiday staying here in Jasmina, a beautifully renovated farmhouse mixing tradition with modern convenience. Perfect location for making day visits to towns and places all over Tuscany and Umbria. The owners Vicki and Steven are the perfect hosts and were easily available for any advice. The house itself the perfect place to relax and if not travelling, very peaceful and extremely well kept, including the very large pool. Our 2 year old had a great time and was very safe playing in the large grounds of the house. If you want to explore southern Tuscany, combined with beautiful and peaceful accomodation, then I couldn't recommend highly enough.

Next time we will stay longer!

We stayed 18 nights in Jasmina.  I wish we could have stayed longer! The property has been restored with love, lots of hard work, and tasteful simple elegance by the truly delightful English owners, Steven and Vicki, who with their sweet dog Rosie were on site for our entire visit. They were the consummate hosts, unobtrusive yet informative and helpful with every request and then some.  Their attention to detail and appreciation of beauty shows in the lovely decor and furnishings, with comfortable beds and sofas to relax in after a day spent hiking or visiting any of the many nearby Tuscan hill towns.  The location of the countryside property is perfect - very private, safe (electronic gated entrance) and peaceful - with beautifully tended grounds lush with roses, jasmine and cypress, and a large, refreshing crystal clear salt water pool - yet less than a 5 minute drive from the Terontola train station for an easy train ride to Florence.  It's an easy drive to the charming hill town of Cortona with many historical sites, several museums, a lovely park, stunning views from several hiking paths, cafes and restaurants, gelato shops, bakeries, a fresh pasta shop, and shops of all kinds. The nearby good-sized non-touristy town of Camucia is handy for food shopping at the well-stocked Co-op and the extensive weekly market.  We prepared most of our breakfasts and dinners in the well-equipped farmhouse kitchen with 4-burner gas cooktop, oven, full-sized fridge w/ freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine, after enjoying amazing lunches in the various towns we visited with easy day-trips on scenic country roads: Panicale, Lago de Trasimeno, Pienza, Montepulciano, Orvieto, Montalcino, Assisi, Spello, and others. I highly recommend Jasmina farmhouse for its excellent location, tasteful and comfortable accommodations, and fantastic owners.

Another wonderful trip to Italy

We were fortunate enough to find La Violina and apartment Jasmina. We found the location ideal to visit many of our favorite Tuscan and Umbrian towns. The apartment was all is was described to be and much more. It was neat, clean and well supplied. The grounds were beautiful, spacious and very well maintained. Luckily the owners and their talented dog, Rosie, were there. We arrived early and they recommended the restaurant Francesca, which was not only minutes away, but had excellent service and great food and wine.The owners, Vicki and Steve, were an absolute delight and it felt like we had know them forever. The area was so peaceful that it was the first time I slept all the way through the nights for a week! We will return and would highly recommend this property. Joanie and Helen

It is perfectly located and Vicki and Steven are the perfect host if you are lucky enough to meet them. From start to finish we LOVED this house! I would have been happy spending my days by the pool, in the garden or curled up on the sofa and forgone the sightseeing. The house has warmth that embraces you from the time you enter! It really was a home away from home and there is nothing that I would change!! Well, next time I’m going to stay for 2 weeks!

BLISS IN CORTONA

"Where to start when trying to review the perfect holiday in the perfect location? How about with Steven & Vicki, the owners of La Violina. We will start with them because it's such a bonus when you meet genuinely special people on holiday. They were on hand in a very discreet way & very happily shared their wealth of local knowledge suggesting restaurants & places not to miss. We spent many happy hours in & around the stunning town of Cortona. Which brings us to "La Violina". What a total surprise! As veteran users of Owners Direct, we have been fortunate with accommodation over many years throughout France, Spain and Italy, which is why we continue to use this site. But La Violina is absolutely at the top end of our many fine experiences. A large and luxurious farmhouse, it's set out in two separate self-contained houses, one accommodating 4 people, the other accommodating 8. But you get no real sense of the beauty of the place, set in 13 acres of meadows, from the website - but then, how could you? Images will never do justice to the layout, taste and warm atmosphere you'll find here. And the location! Look out from the windows at the rear of either house and you'll see the town of Cortona floating above you, just 15 minutes away, with it's many excellent restaurants, shops and galleries. You can even see it from the very large pool! Our eleven year old son Jordi, himself an Italophile, really summed up our shared experience. We were lucky enough to be heading to Boston for another vacation the week after we returned home from La Violina. Half way through a lovely trip, which he was enjoying very much, he asked if we could book La Violina for next summer! "Let's finish this holiday first" we said, "then we'll see!"

Tuscan Heaven

This perfect Tuscan holiday house has everything you need. We stayed in Jasmina for two weeks and couldn't have asked for anything more. Our hosts Vicky and Stephen were very welcoming, we had perfect weather, though that's not a guarantee for future visitors! The house is situated close to lake Trasimeno and Cortona, with easy access to Sienna and Florence (very easy by train) and the hilltop towns of Assisi, and Montepulciano. The house and grounds are well maintained, and very comfortable, (not like the Italian rustic beds and furniture often found in Italian accommodation!). The pool is the perfect size for the property and you can shade under an olive tree with great views of the mountains. We will be back!

Perfect Tuscan Holiday House

We have just returned from 2 idyllic weeks at Jasmina. As many other reviewers have said, it is a wonderful house in a perfect location with lovely furnishings and delightful owners. Jasmina is a 2 bedroom cottage attached to Rosa, the larger main house. You share the beautifully landscaped 12 acres including a large swimming pool, with the residents of Rosa. Fortunately for us, the owners, Vicki and Stephen along with their adorable dog, Rosie, were staying there at the time of our holiday. They shared with us their wealth of knowledge about the area, including restaurants, sightseeing, using trains for visiting nearby towns, wine tasting, cooking classes, walking trails. and most anything else you would need to know while there. We had guests for a few nights and Jasmina was fine for 2 couples. There are many great restaurants nearby which can be casual (La Tufa which is is a favorite with locals and has live music on Friday nights and great views of Cortona) or elegant (Casa di Francesca). Cortona is a short drive away and offers sightseeing, loads of restaurant choices and music festivals all summer long.The house's location is perfect for exploring both Tuscan and Umbrian towns and villages or as we did, just enjoy yourselves under the Tuscan sun. We look forward to returning again next year on our own as well as with the family.

A perfect Tuscan retreat

We're just back from a perfect week's holiday at Jasmina. This is a really special place to stay - the house is lovely - elegant, well equipped and very comfortable. The furnishings are beautiful and the beds extremely comfortable with quality linen. It's quiet and relaxing with fantastic grounds - beautiful flowerbeds, spacious lawns and the biggest pool we've ever come across. There's also plenty of seating and shady areas. The house is also fantastically located. It has a quiet country feel yet is only 10 minutes from beautiful Cortona - a historic town that warrants return visits for its great restaurants, ice cream and beautiful vistas. Siena, Montepulciano and Pienza were also easy day-trips by car. There were other paces we would also have gone to, if only we hadn't run out of time. The owners of Jasmina, Vicki and Steve are also great - lovely hosts - helpful and friendly, yet discreet and we all fell in love with their dog, Rosie. All in all, this property is second to none and we would thoroughly recommend it as a great base to explore this part of Italy.

Lovely House in a great location

We spent a delightful two weeks at Jasmina, La Violina. The owners Vicki and Steven have done a wonderful job of restoring the old house, including modern facilities, while maintaining the traditional Tuscan values. For us Jasmina was ideal in size and we could have had visitors to stay if needed. The grounds of La Violina are extensive and lovely with great views around the countryside. It is an ideal, quiet location for visiting all of Umbria, Southern Tuscany and even Florence by a convenient train. We really enjoyed the friendship of Bob and Marijka who live nearby and supervise the property when the owners are not in residence. We will strongly recommend the property to our friends. Lovely stylish quiet property

For once the actual property compared to the website photos doesn't disappoint! The house is beautifully decorated and maintained with really well proportioned rooms. It is incredibly quiet yet only 10 minutes drive from a slice of italian life in places like the very friendly Camucia for the obligatory coffee and pastries, a treat we enjoyed for breakfast a few of times! The pool is a perfect size and set in lovely gardens where there is loads of space and so you don't feel at all crowded by sharing with another family or two. We stayed a week but I wish it had been longer, a lot longer. Vicki is incredibly friendly and helpful and kept in touch before we went out to Italy in case we needed any guidance at all. Cortona is a short drive away and there was always something going on and a great atmosphere both day and night. I love Tuscany and out of the places I have stayed so far this is by far my favourite in terms of both property and location.

Exceptional attention to detail!

We've just spent a fabulously relaxed two weeks in Jasmina and enjoyed every minute ... in fact we're hard-pressed to add anything to the previous reviews aside from superlatives and exclamation marks! We loved the apartment, well-equipped, simply but very elegantly furnished, and the beautiful grounds with its tended flower beds, wonderful pool, a meadow ... ideal for children and grandmas to explore (safely!) ... and a view of Cortona in the hills beyond. Jasmina offered us a great base within comfortable driving distance of so many places of interest in Tuscany and Umbria, not to mention the train to Florence (great suggestion from Vicki!). Many thanks to the owners, Vicki and Steve, for their discreet and friendly presence and exceptional attention to detail which quite set this lovely property apart from the many others we have holidayed in. Hope to visit again soon!

Perfect Cortona Base

As frequent villa renters in France and Italy, I can confidently recommend Jasmina very warmly. The property listing is very accurate, the place is spotlessly clean, the grounds and pool attractive and well-maintained. But that dosen't capture the charm of the place. I really appreciated the stylish comfort, the good linens, the varied book collection, the excellent lighting and the restful ambience of the villa. We really liked the private entrance and the alfresco dining area just for Jasmina. Arriving after a long (delayed)flight from Shanghai and a late night drive from Rome, we were very appreciative of the warm welcome and the thoughtful stocking of the fridge with breakfast basics. Friendly and helpful hosts completed the picture. I recommend Jasmina highly - and the bigger villa next door looked even better!

Far exceeded our expectations!

We had the most memorable holiday ever in Jasmina (4th Sept '10). In fact it is hard for photos to do the farmhouse justice. The house was beautifully decorated, spotless and had everything you could possibly need laid on (including a requested cot / hand blender for baby food). It is very secure with electronic gates - one gate each for both Jasmina and Rosa. The pool was huge with unobstructed views of the countryside and stunning vineyards & a perfect area to roll your sunlounger and keep in the shade. All the windows are mossie proofed which was an added bonus. We were lucky enough that the owners, Vicki & Steven were there during our stay. They are such a relaxed, fun couple and we really enjoyed their company. In fact if truth be known they really made our holiday as memorable as it was as we shared many an evening with them. They were so helpful for directions and ideas for day trips and nothing was too much trouble or effort. It is clearly Vicki's creative touch around the house and Steven puts his soul into the grounds. Lots of plans for next summer in the gardens so we will be sure to be back. And not forgetting their dog little Rosie - she was a hit with our 8 month old & gentle as a lamb! Couldn't recommend Violina highly enough.

Wonderful stay in Jasmina

We stayed in Jasmina from 20th August for two weeks, and had an exceptional holiday. Steven and Vicki the owners were very welcoming and helpful.and were available to offer any info regarding places to visit etc. The cottage was very well equipped and simply the perfect place to stay. The garden was very large and had a superb pool that was so refreshing after sunbathing and relaxing. I would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a slice of Tuscan heaven.
