This rental group was not as expected. A red flag went up when -- a self described 4 couples and 0 kids who wanted a quiet 3 day weekend with one dog -- asked if there was a second full refrigerator that they could use -- when we provide a full-size refrigerator. They officially added a second dog. But they didn't disclose the 3 apparently rambunctious toddlers that I found out about on the day of their arrival when I was checking the setup details. As we do consider kids people, we do charge for kids - and the LR the main kid containment area was left completely rearranged. I offered a nice discounted on the rate for the kids, given the late timing --- but Caitlin refused to consider that pushed back. We only corresponded through text on the site -- I never called Caitlin (certainly not at odd hours) and I gave her a chance to respond. As a long-time VBRO premier member I reached out to VRBO multiple times and they could not substantiate any of her claims. Caitlin never asked any questions about any of the issues mentioned above so we could not possibly have addressed them, except I did sent a photo of newly assigned spectrum password to the internet – and not further issues were mentioned.. Subsequently we did discover a valve in the upstairs shower that was limiting the hot water, which is now fixed. We do have on-demand hot water system -- it will not run out,-- but the pipes do have to fill so there is a wait -- not like a city apartment. All of the other issues could have been resolved with a few simple questions. We have clarified further the items mentioned in the hospitality module and in the book at the house and in notes at the house -- to minimize any future confusion. We are truly a Vacation Rental by Owner and our kitchen cabinet space is limited, but that does mean that you as guest have a full kitchen setup, condiments and spices and any critical items that you might have forgotten. (you can borrow and replace). We have rented ourselves and found completely empty kitchens without trash bags, paper goods, soap, with random cookware, missing forks etc, where it was impossible to cook anything that was not prepackaged. We hope that our guests appreciate the extras that we do supply. We provide what would make our stay more convenient if we were the guests. We are kid friendly, but as stated not childproof. We have an air hockey table, games and puzzles and plenty of outdoor space for non-toddlers, but given the steps, decks and configuration we are not the ideal choice for toddlers which we might have advised given the opportunity.

We will get blinds for the windows in the master bedroom, although we we have preferred to be awakened by the sun. . .I can see hot now everybody might like that so thanks for the note. There are also eye shades in most of the top dresser drawers. The heating issue was a surprise and has been fixed. We thought that this issue was addressed the week before and it did not work. Any specific ideas on how we can know what spices are missing will be appreciated as in five + years and many guests not one has ever noted that they finished up something - although we ask. We will watch the cooking oil going forward - I guess that has become a standard expect ion -- initially we were just being generous as we are with many things. We do count on these items and our staples as well (which have been depleted - but not by this group) so we understand. We were solidly rented this fall so we did not have chance to check personally. My apploligies.

This group was one of the neatest and most considerate groups that we have ever had and we would love to have them back. We ranked them lower on house rules and communication because we had a report of noise and we could not reach them. However, it turned out that they were only talking animately which does carry on the mountain, but that was not a cause for concern.
