Friends & Family Birthday Celebration
We stayed here for my husbands 'big' birthday. Wonderful location and beautiful barn. The pooches didnt want to leave! Perfect for coming together with loved ones. Fabulous walks and perfect for chilling on the decking listening to birds and watching wildlife. Barn is well equipped, spacious, lovely fireplace and host very welcoming and helpful.

Matt hide away in the Shropshire Hills was the perfect weekend excape for our multi generational and mixed mobility family group the area is breathtaking and the property was immaculate and the host Matt was a absolute Gent with fantastic communication throughout and flexibility. Matt’s house is stunning. It is fitted out to a very high standard with beautiful decor. The huge garden sweeping dow to its own stream was a dream for our kids and dogs. Matt had great communication with us throughout and was very accommodating. We would definitely visit again.

Amazing accommodation in a serene location
We booked the accommodation as two families for a long weekend away. The barn is a great find and the land surrounding is beautiful with a small stream at the bottom of the dog secure garden. There was so much room in the modern barn for us all to enjoy spending time together, which is good as storm Barbet made some of roads impassable (this was the most rain seen for many years in the area). Having the space meant even though we couldn’t get out for the day, our time was still enjoyable. Matt the host was great and made sure everything was easy. We will return in the future, hopefully when the rain has stopped!!

Perfect for a multigenerational family holiday. Plenty of space for the children to play, indoors and out. Really close to footpaths to enjoy the magnificent countryside. Relaxing on the patio with a glass of wine, just sheep and tranquillity.

Lovely weekend away - despite the rain!
We had a long weekend here in July. Who would have thought the English weather would be constant rain!! But not to fear, the property couldn’t have been better! So much space for the kids to run around in, playing hide and seek or “tag”! Although we didn’t have anyone in our party with mobility needs, I loved that this property catered to this without ruining the feel of the home. The garden is stunning. Wish we could have chilled out there more… or had a bbq. Next time! It really feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere which is great. But be prepared to travel for food etc. Matt the host couldn’t have been more helpful . Even letting us have a late checkout - and was lovely . Hoping to come back for better quality weather!

Great holiday
This is our 4th visit to the barn and we plan to return in the autumn. Extremely comfortable property with excellent facilities. This year the weather has been particularly good so we appreciated the lovely new rattan furniture allowing us to sit out in comfort on the decking surrounded by the beautiful scenery. We did some great walks from the property.

Little slice of heaven
If you are looking to get away from it all and want to spend time outdoors sampling nature in the peace and quiet then this is the place to go. The cottage is immaculate and is not only suited to the able bodied but can also accommodate wheelchair uses/not so able bodied with the wider doors in the property and the subtle aids in the wee rooms. It is the only cottage we have stayed in who offer these facilities so a big shout out to Matt the owner for doing this. The surroundings are idyllic, fields on either side. One did have sheep in which we were a little concerned with our 2 German Shepherds but nothing was too much trouble for Matt, he offered to move the sheep into a different field, as it happened it wasn’t a problem with our dogs and they all seemed to live happily together. The cottage has everything in it which you will need, doors opening out to a lovely decking area and a garden which is fully enclosed (part lawned/part woodland) perfect for the dogs to go exploring safely. Walks on the doorstep with glorious views. Definitely worth a visit. We don’t often go back to same place but would be happy to make an exception with this property.

Excellent Property and Location
We had an excellent stay in this isolated but very well equipped and comfortable property. We enjoyed walking from the door into beautiful countryside, as well as a trips out to visit and walk around Stokesay Castle and The Stiperstones. Matt went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly, and provides lots of information in the house to help with planning walks etc. Beautiful, natural garden, which our dog loved as well. Highly recommended.

Three couples and 3 dogs stayed at Matts beautiful remote barn and had a wonderful time. The cleanliness and description of the property was A1 !! It was exactly what I wanted. The host met us and explained simply and professionally where everything was and how it worked. We literally wanted for nothing.. beautiful countryside amazing places to visit and a cosy log burner to come home to. Perfect.

Perfect for a Walking Weekend in Shropshire
Thank you for such a great weekend. The accommodation layout was perfect for a weekend away with friends. Great woodland walks on the doorstep and not far from Long Mynd & Carding Mill for beautiful walks. Sunday was a wet day so after a morning walk we lit to fire and chilled! perfect! Fantastic family weekend!!
A wonderful family weekend celebrating a special birthday. The property was in a beautiful location, very well appointed and spotlessly clean. We enjoyed it so much we all wanted to stay longer (or forever!!) 😂 Matt and Glen were wonderful hosts and were available and easily contactable and nothing was too much trouble. Multi generational delight
A great long weekend for all three generations. Little ones could run around inside and out all on the same level. The older ones could walk, and walk, and walk, in the great countryside. Castle ruins close by. Pubs and shops close too (by car). Hightly recommend this lodge.

A lovely relaxing home from home
We loved the barn conversion and the privacy we were able to enjoy being "off the beaten track". The location worked well as it was easy driving distance to lots of interesting places. Matt was very welcoming and helpful. The thought he'd put into making the property fully accessible was impressive and he even brought round some extras to suit our specific needs. Those details made all the difference and meant that every one of us was able to fully enjoy the break. The welcome pack was an added bonus; being able to make a cuppa before going out shopping was great.

We loved this property, so much space for everyone and everything accessible for the less mobile of our group. Matt out host was great and made sure we had everything we needed. Very comfortable beds and it was just so peaceful and relaxing. We went out and about most days but I would have been quite happy just chilling at the cottage. Lots of places to walk and lovely scenery. Would definitely book again if in the area.

We all including cockapoo, thoroughly enjoyed our week’s stay over Easter. Lots to in the area.
Good choice for a relaxing break. Lovely county to explore but half decent weather would make all the difference. Slight downside was that our dog was not able to run freely around the vast garden due to the proximity of sheep.

PEFECT SETTING FOR GROUP OF FRIENDS GATHERING
This gorgeous barn conversion was perfect for our group of friends getting together. It was especially ideal for our friend who is in a wheelchair, as the property is wheelchair accessible throughout. The barn is spacious with a fantastic open plan living room/kitchen area which is great for entertaining large groups. The focal point is the log burner which ensured we were nice and cosy even when Storm Arwen was raging outside. There are 2 large bedrooms with en-suite wet rooms and 2 smaller bedrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bread, milk and butter left for us was much appreciated. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with lots of walks on the doorstep. We will definitely return for future gatherings.

Peace and seclusion
This is a wonderful place to stay, ideal for the elderly or those with young family (although there is a stream at the bottom of the property). The kitchen is well equipped and there is plenty of space inside and to sit out on the surrounding decking. It's set in the midst of the beautiful Shropshire countryside, 5 minutes from the village of Clun and Matt, the owner, couldn't be more helpful.

The perfect hideyhole for a quiet family holiday
Such a wonderful place, with both amazing inside and outside space, we stayed a week and only left the property once as it really does have everything you need, maybe when we stay next we'll eplore the area more as there are loads of beautiful walks on the doorstep. The wonderful stream and garden were perfect for the kids to run around and explore and theres more than enough space for people to secret themselves away to read a book if they feel like it. It was exactly what we all needed and more than we could have hoped for. Matt was a great host, very helpful and attentive but not overbearing or intrusive. We'll certainly be staying again in the future.

Beautiful cottage
The cottage is extremely comfortable and set in a tranquil location. The furnishings are of a high standard. There are no steps at all in the property which made it very practical accommodation for my elderly mother. The en-suites are spacious and well designed. The location is very rural with very few cars passing. Nature is on the door step - we spotted hares; pheasants and even a dear without having to leave the comfort of the sofa. Great walking country. We will definitely visit again.

Hidden Gem
This property is by far the best place we have ever been, from start to finish this holiday delivered on every level, from the seclusion and quality and the surrounding areas everything was perfect. My dogs loved to roam and explore and chase each other up and down the stream that runs through the bottom of the extremely well kept garden. The inside of the property was to an extremely high standard (the pictures on the website really don't do it justice) and the kitchen was well equipped with everything required (lovely welcome pack of eggs and sourdough upon arrival). Every bedroom was clean and tidy and the ensuites with the wet rooms were perfect for my elderly mother in law. The front room had the most amazing wood burner for the chilly evenings and early mornings and a good TV with lots of channels. All in all the perfect break for relaxation and we definitely be booking again very soon. Thanks Matt for letting us stay in such a wonderful place :-)

Beautiful accomodation!
We were all so happy upon seeing this accomodation- looks even better than the pictures! The property was clean, ideal and so big! 4 rooms and works out to a toilet for each. The property was big and spacious and everything was accessible. The location was perfect for us as we were looking for a peaceful retreat and we got that here (nearest large supermarket about half an hour away). Lots of walks around but a big enough area around the property to explore (including a stream). We had a wonderful time and also got lucky with the sunny weather! Matt was Very friendly and available if needed. He was good at responding and was helpful with showing us where we are and what’s around. Thank you again Matt!

Beautiful setting, great property - really pleased!
We booked this to accommodate a birthday get-together for my mum, sister and our young children - in total 5 adults, 2 children and a small dog. It was perfect - the bedrooms were a generous size, and there were plenty of bathrooms too. The furniture was lovely and exactly as was needed for our stay - the bathrooms too. We loved the big open-plan kitchen, dining and living space and found the accommodation to be really well equipped with appliances, kitchen utensils, crockery - everything we needed. The best bit about the accommodation though was the outdoor space - big deck with plenty of outdoor seating and a barbeque. Masses of lawn and a beautiful stream running at the bottom which me and the kids paddled in. The surrounding countryside was beautiful - perfect for walks and we were invited to make use of the adjacent fields for this. I really appreciated the maps and guidebooks that we’re available for us to use as well. We’d probably expected to explore a bit more than we did but such as it was we actually just spent time drinking tea, later beer/wine, eating good food, reading books, watching some sport, playing with the kids, flying a kite, and generally just making the most of the house and garden. Fair to say all our expexcations were surpassed. Would recommend highly.
