'Love love love! Dec-2018: Stayed for 2-nts with the family (6 adults and 5 (all under 9yrs) children) and loved the location, space and freedom that Cumnock Knowes afforded us. You can't miss the property as it stands proud on the horizon as you drive south, out of Carsphairn. The woodland that has been removed from around the house would have offered some protection from the elements, but the views from every window were fantastic - hopefully replanting is in the plans for the future. 'Having stayed in Wanlockhead for a week at the end of June 2021, this property seemed like an ideal overnight stay during a house move from the the South Coast to Aberdeen. Within easy distance of the M74 and very peaceful. Loved the bold décor. Excellent nights rest , the downstairs bed was very comfortable and the property spotlessly clean.'

'Caravan was comfortable and was OK for the couple of nights we stayed However some half used items of food had been left in the fridge and the furnishings were a little worn. Caravan and bed were creaky although this was mainly down to the high winds the weekend we were there.'

'My wife, daughter and dog Pumpkin had a wonderful stay at the Bothy. Karen was the perfect host, loved Pumpkin and had thought of everything to make our stay a perfect. The Bothy is located on the edge of beautifully secluded woodland and yet just moments from Moffat and transport. My only complaint is that I didn’t decide to stay here for our holiday rather than continuing up the road. We will be back! Thank you Karen, see you next year :) '

'Stayed at this property for Christmas week with our adult kids and hosted Christmas dinner for several local family members. The property was fantastic. Very clean and extremely well appointed, particularly the kitchen. We loved the cozy living room in the evenings for family games and movie watching. Bedrooms were comfortable and bathrooms were well built. Location is lovely, tucked behind a new housing development but very private. 'Very spacious, very well equipped. Totally quiet and quite isolated. Perfect for fresh air, dark skies and peace. Excellent base for Sorn castle.'

'This is a fantastic cottage in an adorable village. It has rolling hills, a burn and lots of sheep! The cottage itself was quite large and was fit for our family of 6, including adult children and their spouses. It was clean, decorated well and rather comfortable. There are amenities within walking distance such as a pub, museum, etc. We wished we had stayed longer and we'll definitely return!'

'Great location, friendly hosts, clean and spacious. We had a wonderful stay in this quiet, secluded farm cottage. Even though we were only 30minutes from Dumfries, it felt like we were deep in the country. Highly recommended for a family stay.'
