The Clearing - Quiet - Close To Nature

Dit onlangs gerenoveerde huisje ligt op een heuvel met uitzicht op de Wild en Scenic Westfield River, omringd door staatsbos en beschermd land. Wildlife in overvloed en we zijn een oase van rust. Vele ochtend kunt u kijken naar mist die uit de rivier komt. Loop de deur uit om te wandelen, mountainbiken, sneeuwschoenwandelen of skiën in het bos. Geprepareerde langlaufloipes zijn in de buurt. Notchview-reservering, op 20 minuten afstand heeft naar mijn mening het beste XC-skiën in West-Massachusetts. We bevinden ons midden tussen The Berkshires met zijn vele culturele activiteiten en de Pioneer Valley, de thuisbasis van de vijf hogescholen: U Mass, en Smith, Amherst, Mt Holyoke en Hampshire Colleges. Het huisje slaapt vier (1 BR voor 2, 2 ingebouwde tweeling bij de houtkachel). De keuken is volledig uitgerust. De eigenaar woont op het terrein in het hoofdgebouw in de buurt van het huisje.

Peaceful comfortable getaway

This is our second time staying in The Clearing. It's one of our all-time favorite stays. The setting is beautiful and peaceful. We could live in this comfortable house. It's charming and well-appointed with everything you'll need. The bed is comfortable. Sit on the screened-in porch and look at the mountain in the distance. Read a book or go for a hike. If you're here in the summer, swim in the large pool. That was a treat on our first stay. This time we were here for Smith College's graduation. It was a perfect respite after full days with our Smithie. If life brings us this way again, we'll definitely be back.

A peaceful, tranquil getaway

We had a most peaceful long weekend at The Clearing. There was a small nearby market that had just about everything we needed to cook the meals we planned to make. A crisp, warm fall weekend allowed for a lovely hike at the Gorge, many wonderful meals in a quaint, modern kitchen, and just lots of QUIET! We heard a coyote or wolf howl one night! The best feature was definitely the wood stove for the cooler nights. I loved that!! What a beautiful weekend at a remarkable, remote spot. There is a full in ground pool - so I think a summer visit is up next. The host was amazing! Communicative and very personable. We loved our stay!

Wonderful cottage stay in the country

John’s place is wonderful. The cottage is very clean and has all the necessities. Access to the pool was a big plus for my family, and we got to pick wild blackberries on the property. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend this place!

Perfect R & R

This place is so incredibly quiet and peaceful we didn’t want to leave. The quaint house has everything you need to relax and unwind. Lots of small villages and parks to visit nearby with good places to eat and a convenient little market just minutes away. Don’t miss the drive to the gorge just 2 miles away, breathtaking! John and Joyce are great hosts, loved learning a little history about the farm.
