'We chose this hotel over others because it seemed to be in a good location and advertised that it had an outdoor pool. However, on arrival we discovered that it doesn't have a pool - they just kept referring to a 'natural swimming area' i.e. the sea. It's also quite a run down and generally depressing place. We ended up cancelling 2 of our 3 nights and moving to another hotel first thing in the morning. I can't say much about the location as we didn't stay long enough to explore it.'

'great place! the breakfast was delicious and portion sizes were great. I visited during the off season and had the entire place and pool to myself. the AC in the room and hot water pressure in the bathroom was a great surprise.pool was great and clean and we'll maintained. you can take a pickme to go around the town and get to the beach . would visit again'

'I would highly recommend Sergeant House. The rooms were very clean, beautifully decorated and good air conditioning. Lots of welcome extras included such as insect repellent, cookies, robes, sunhat and beach towels. The hotel is in a great location but set back from the road so lovely and peaceful. The manager was really helpful in arranging tours and airport transfers'

'Wij verbleven twee nachten met onze drie kinderen (10-16 jr) in dit hotel. Wij vonden het hotel erg mooi. Heerlijk zwembad en de locatie is top! Vlakbij het strand.'

'We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It is right on the water and you can see the waves crashing on the rocks. It is located close to many shops and restaurants. We had a delicious breakfast each day with a choice of Euro-American food and Sri Lankan food. We had a wonderful assistant in the person of Asuri. She was doing everything: front of house, breakfast, room service and more. The pool was lovely, despite the odd shark-dolphin sculptural oddity (a shower for children). The rooms were...
