Nice Spot/Convenient Location
We enjoyed our long weekend at this cute lakeside home. It was just as described. Watching the sunrise from the deck definitely a highlight! The lake is beautiful and we enjoyed paddling aroung in kayaks rented from the campground next door. The one drawback, which has been mentioned in other reviews, was having the very large campground directly next to the property. We were gone most of the day, so were not very bothered by noise. One evening, there was live music playing very loudly, although it stopped by 10:00 pm sharp. The owner was very responsive to our questions and provided great suggestions of things to do in the area. The town of Damariscotta was charming and the location was very convenient for day trips to Boothbay Harbor, Rockland and many other amazing places.

Great 3 Day Getaway
This rental met all of our needs for a relaxing getaway! It has everything you need. Very comfortable beds. It was a windy weekend so just take note that many acorns hit the metal roof. But not a showstopper. Also they do mention that they are next to a campground. It is definitely right next to it. We had no issues because it was end of season. I’m sure louder during the summer months. The view is beautiful, and it was very serene. We would rent again.

Great location and beautiful lake, but not cleaned well
Long story short, loud on weekends due to children at the attached campground, unclean, but really beautiful location and nice amenities. Just bring Lysol wipes. TL;DR My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights, and while the property was really nice, I have a few words of caution for future travelers...The most important was the cleanliness, or lack of rather. There was food stains all over the kitchen island, food dripping off the outside of the microwave and oven, and the bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned at all. In fact, the master bathroom had toothpaste splashings all over the mirror and faucet, the tub had two empty razor cartridge caps, and the towels were either really dirty or badly stained. And thats not even mentioning the laundry someone left in the washer or the hair in the bed sheets or the unemptied trash cans. Honestly with my wife being a nurse, she was horrified to see such high touch places lacked cleaning so we spent the first hour and a half sanitizing everything! Once we did that, the place felt really nice! On another note, if you are looking for a quiet weekend retreat, this is not it so keep looking. The house is 300 ft from the campsite, but that is way closer than you think...the noise of all the children yelling and skateboarding at the attached skatepark all night Saturday really sucked...thankfully Sunday and Monday were quiet. To leave on a good note, the lake is beautiful and the amenities are really accessible at this location. We found ourselves really close to Hannaford, which was perfect and taking the inflatable boat out was a breeze!!

Hello. We haven’t had any previous complaints the cleanliness so I will contact the cleaning company and forward your feedback to them. My apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. The campground is a bit further than 300ft and it is busy on the weekends during the summer months. Quiet hour is strictly enforced by the campground which starts at 10:30pm. Thanks for your feedback!

Great location!
The house is very much as advertised! Updated amenities and wonderful location right on the lake and close to town. In addition Lux is a very responsive host. I highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy lake life!

Lakefront cottage
Fabulous views from glass fronted cottage. Perfect for a couple or a family with young children. The second bedroom with the four bunks is quite small and there really isn’t a 3rd bedroom - just a small lift area with a low ceiling accessed by a ladder through a small opening in ceiling of second bedroom.

Great summer lake house getaway!
We had such a great week on the lake. The house was perfect for our family of 4 and the location could not be beat. We loved being right on the lake - fishing off the dock, swimming in the water, and jumping off the campground float a short swim away. It was also great being so close to the campground - we took good advantage of the pool, minigolf, the playground and the float out in the lake. The host was great to communicate with. Highly recommend!

We want to come back!!
This place was amazing! We want to come back again very soon. Our kids had a blast using the campground playground and pool next door. Even though it rained the entire trip, we had a peaceful and relaxing vacation. The location was close enough to great restaurants and shopping. We explored the lighthouse and the whaleback shell place. The lake was beautiful and so clean. A Momma loon and her baby hung out by our dock the entire time.

Perfect place for families!
The owners were a pleasure, thoughtful, and responsive to the needs we had during our stay. The location was as described in the listing as well which was wonderful and private. Having its own sandy beach area was super too! Since it was so shallow and gradual, it made for great swimming for my 4 young children. We rented the house for a month and had almost everything we needed. This was an excellent spot for our family to enjoy and make memories!

We had such a great time
Our family had such a great time at the lake house. The house is gorgeous with beautiful views and lots of space. Everything was as described. Having a campground next door is a huge bonus. Our kids loved the many playgrounds and activities. Great fishing all over. You can rent a motor boat from the marina and find a great fishing spot or just a nice ride around the lake. Vacations are never long enough, but we all came home rested and happy. We hope to come back next year!

Great family place! Very relaxing.
We stayed here for a week in July and had a great time. The photos represent the property accurately. The cottage is great for families, we have two teens and the bunk beds worked nicely. The king bed was comfortable as well. The lake is good for swimming but you may want to bring water shoes as it is a lake after all and the bottom has leaves and other things to squish into when walking in the water. All of our questions/concerns prior to arrival and during our stay were answered and addressed fairly quickly. The Damariscotta area is nice as well with a few shops in the village. We took a river cruise and had fresh oysters on board. Overall a great property with great owners in a great area. We would stay again.

Amazing place for a vacation!
Our family of 5 had an amazing vacation at this camp! The property was exactly as described. The sun rises on the opposite side of the lake from the camp and fills the living and kitchen area with so much natural light. The swimming is perfect from early morning to early afternoon, especially for younger swimmers. Once the sun goes behind the camp, you can venture out a little further into the lake where the sun still shines and jump from a deep water dock. We ate all our meals on site. Cooking and preparing food in the kitchen was a dream. We ate breakfast at the granite countertop island and lunch and dinners were outside at the picnic tables. We've never had such good sleep! We had amazing weather but that means it was pretty warm at night. Both bedrooms had air conditioning to cool things off and there were ceiling fans throughout the camp. The king sized bed was like a cloud and the kids loved their bunk beds! We tried not to spend too much time watching TV while at camp, but it was nice to have one in each room at the end of the day just to relax a little. We were a little apprehensive about being next to the campground but it ended up being a great addition to our stay. The campground was very quiet and almost unnoticeable. We visited the campground a few different times to rent kayaks and paddle boats, swim in the pool and hot tub, play on the playground, and visit the store. My wife took her morning run through the campground each morning as well. Lastly, communication with the property owner was excellent. We received clear check-in/check-out instructions and had everything we needed for a great stay. We bumped into a few vacationing neighbors who commented on all the work the current owners have done to this property. It really shows. Overall, this property was clean and provided all the comforts of home inside and out. Hardwood floors, granite counters, two outside decks, a gorgeous view of the lake, and only a few steps to the water made this a dream spot to vacation! We would definitely not hesitate to rent here again!

Lackshmi’s house was beautiful. I was a little weary at first having to drive through the campground to get to the home, but once we got there it was well worth it. The home was well maintained and current. There is not central air throughout the house, but there are several fans and two large units that keep the place cool. There was a fire pit that was awesome to sit at by the water at night. I would definitely rent here again

Beautifully renovated home!
My family and I enjoyed our stay in this beautifully renovated home. I was fearful that we may be too close to the campground next door, although very close, it was quite and ended up enhancing our experience. We rented paddle boards and kayaks there during our stay. My only wish would have been to have more sun in the yard and on the dock. The home is in a woodsy area and mostly shady. If you are looking for a modernized “camp” on a beautiful lake, you will love this place! My 12 year old son loved the private loft space, which has its own television! The master bedroom king sized bed was very comfortable! We enjoyed the downtown shops and nearby Pemaquid Beach and Lighthouse. Red’s Eats is a must for the best lobster roll you have ever had! What a beautiful area!

Home on the lake
Our family had a lovely week at this lakeside home. Pictures were true to the property and we loved the a pretty view of the lake. There was a dock, fire pit, and grill on site. The home was nicely furnished and equipt with everything that we needed. We enjoyed being located close to a campground and used some of those amenities (pool, snack shack, kayaks). Would definitely stay here again.
