It was an OK place. Pros: good location, safe environment, relatively comfortable for a short stay, and clean. Cons: although functional, the property is outdated and in need of medernization. Any noise from outside including the wind can be heard and felt. It could use better bedding- although clean, bedsheets are worn and thin. Most annoying is that one has to buy access to WiFi- it is at least unusual at this time when all WiFi is free everywhere. We had to use our own data, and connection was unreliable at times. Further, the property manager was unable to clarify if - even if we wanted to buy WiFi - there would be high-speed internet. My husband had planned to join but he needed to work remotely, and he needed internet. He couldn’t come because we could not receive any information on availability and mostly reliability of internet. We had a good time because of the beautiful surroundings and everything worked in the condo. But it was a forgettable place to stay.

Unit was clean and great location. It’s very dated so keep that in mind. There is a jet tub downstairs but the water fills very slowly. We didn’t use the pool but it’s located next to the office. WiFi must be paid for, we had limited cell service. AC is windows units.

Summer Vacation

We loved our stay at the Land Of Canaan Resort! It was a very nice condo! 2 bed & 2 bath, very spacious, nice kitchen, condo has everything you could possibly need. There is plenty to do on the property: swimming in indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub, volleyball net, put put golf, shuffle board, tennis, arcade room with a pool table, foosball table, ping pong table, giant connect four, mini NES to play on TV, books, puzzles, pacman wall mounted game, mini kids play kitchen & toys! Awesome location, with many local attractions close by!

Good Location

Overall, we liked the property but we were there during "spring season" (1st weekend in May). At first we thought it was great that we had the whole complex to ourselves but we found that we were not able to take advantage of the amenities at the resort. We were not greeted well, with the front desk person handing us our envelope and asking if we had been here before. I stated that we had not and he said, "the envelope will show you where to go". And that was all we got. The envelope had 2 codes neither of which opened the main office door so we were not able to access the indoor pool or game room. Of course it was after hours when I tried this. They did have someone present during regular office hours but we didn't make it during that time. Also no where in any of the check-in information did it state that you needed to turn on the hot water heater. So we had cold showers the first night until we figured that out. The condo was a great size and had all the things you would need. Also it was well located from Davis, Blackwater falls state park, and Canaan valley state park. Just a couple of hiccups that could have been prevented with more information.

Cozy and Convenient in Canaan

This property is located right between the two local ski areas in Canaan. The condo was clean and had everything we needed for our two night stay. We enjoyed the heated indoor pool in the single digit weather. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Nice and clean, very comfortable. Would stay again. Contract confusing over using heat or a/c, sounded like could not adjust temp, touch thermostates. We were only there 1 night so was not much of a problem at this time of year. Internet was an issue, it was the only time I had to pay for internet and was very hard to get connected. For the price of the rental we all thought the wifi should be included. This was by far quite a major inconvience. Otherwise very nice.
