Dahlonega / Dawsonville: ontkoppel en kom tot rust in de heuvels van Noord-Georgia in een unieke structuur in de historische Auraria-gemeenschap van Lumpkin County. Veel kwartsrots in dit huis, gewonnen uit het omringende land, dat ooit een bloeiende goudmijnwijk was in de 19e eeuw. Ligt net op de heuvel van de Etowah-tunnel, bij veel kajak- en kano-liefhebbers bekend als de 1/4-mijl lange verlaten mijnbouwtunnel die is geboord om de rivier af te leiden naar het goud van de rivierbodem. Gelegen tussen Dawsonville en Dahlonega. Dit huis is perfect voor familiebijeenkomsten voor verjaardagen, jubilea, bruiloften, reünies, retraites en het leven. Precies goed om te chillen met de subtiele geluiden van de nabijgelegen rivier de Etowah.

Off the grid on the glamp

We had a great time, in a beautiful "cabin" hilly and woodsy views about a kilometer from the river. The host went out of his way to put up the Christmas tree early per my request and it was beautiful! I hope we get to stay here again. Merry Christmas!

Exceeded Our Expectations!

This house has everything for a relaxing, comfortable stay! It is clean, comfortable and updated, yet has a rustic, timeless charm. The pictures don't do it justice. Of course, we were there when the leaves were changing and a there was a crispness in the air, which just elevated the comfort and charm. This is a perfect house for a large family or a gathering of friends....beds for everyone, updated bathrooms, large kitchen for cooking, etc. James was a wonderful host who greeted us upon arrival. We can't wait to come back!

I will be Back!!!!

I recently enjoyed a weekend getaway at this lovely cabin with friends. The house was clean, spacious, and well-equipped. James, the owner, was super friendly and made us feel right at home. The cabin has everything you need—cups, dishes, pots, pans, you name it! There are two rooms on the first floor: one with a single bed and another with two beds, both with their own bathrooms. The second floor doesn’t have specific rooms but includes a powder room. While the cabin can sleep up to 10 people, it might not be ideal if everyone wants their own room. We split our group into girls and boys, which worked out fine. There’s a gas grill inside and an outdoor fire pit with a grill. We were excited to use the outdoor fire pit but ran into a couple of issues. First, there were three big dogs from the neighbors that made it tricky to drive out and grill outside. The dogs were friendly, but their size was a bit intimidating. Second, the grass was quite tall, making it hard to walk. Despite these minor issues, the fire pit area was well-maintained with plenty of chairs. I’d love to return in winter when the grass isn’t an issue and hopefully no dogs are around. As mentioned in the description, a bigger car is definitely better. I had a Tesla Model 3 as a loaner, and it was super challenging to drive in and out. Friends with sedans had a tough time too, but SUVs were fine. Overall, it was a great stay, and I’m looking forward to returning in different seasons.

Beautiful home!

I had a fairly large group doing an off road motorcycld trip and this was one of the few places that could accommodate for one night. What a fantastic place! Special touches and welcome to the property was superb, house was clean, and had everything we needed. Greeted at the house and given a tour to show us around as well.

Family accommodations for a Dahlonega Wedding

Love this place. Very well appointed and clean. Every detail was thought out about this place. This is a huge convenience and we appreciated being able to drop in and relax. Our whole family enjoyed the privacy of the rooms/bathrooms and the central gathering spaces to visit with coffee in hand for the morning, or gathering around the living room for the evening. Great Visit!

James was so fantastic! He met us at the property to show us around, and was so hospitable. The only thing that I would’ve changed is that it could have been a tiny bit cleaner (random hairs in sinks), and the drive way was terrible. Definitely need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Overall, beautiful property and great host!

Great retreat getaway

A very welcoming retreat in the beautiful north Georgia mountains area. It was unique to find a home with enough beds for our 8 ladies that we didn't have to share a bed or climb up into a bunk bed. The home was clean and as described in the listing. In fact, seeing the home in person looked even nicer than the photos! The kitchen has 3 ovens and upscale appliances for anyone wanting to cook. It would be a great location for a family Thanksgiving gathering. There is plenty of parking if people are driving separately. We highly recommend Off The Grid Lodge!

Perfect mountain getaway close to Dahlonega & Hwy 400

This was a perfect cabin for our group of 9. It is furnished better than many others. The hosts were quick to respond, informative, and very thorough while making sure everything was ready for us. The cabin is a quick drive to wineries as well as Dahlonega & Dawsonville's shopping and restaurants. We had a wonderful stay and plan to visit again.
