This was our 8th annual family trip to Camp Holiday. Each of our stays has been in the reunion cabin. The cabin fits our needs well, with four families there are 12-16 people that come and go during the week. We have enough bedrooms and beds so that each family has its own "Space" but we are able to be together for the fun. We find the cabin well stocked, the kitchen is fully supplied with almost everything you might need, has a large table in the dining area that is great for meals (if we're not eating outside) and provides a great place for games during the day or at night. There is a TV with a satellite connection which I must admit is seldom on when we are there. A second TV downstairs in the general area may be used a little more when the adults aren't there. There is always hot water, and we don't have to fight for the bathroom (it might be because of the 8 kids under12 7 are boys!) Having the large outdoor area just out the back door for a variety of outdoor games is a plus. When the kids were younger, having the play area there was even better. The kids do appreciate the wi fi (as do the adults) for their games. The beach area is small but the kids like the trampoline and the floating dock as well as swimming after the large contingent of ducks that occasionally swims through . The younger kids find great pleasure in the task of pulling in small sun fish from the dock closest to the cabin. There are many boats, paddle bikes and boards as well as pontoons available for rent and two lakes to explore. On Rainy days (unfortunately there are a few now and then) the game room (recently remodeled and rebuilt) is a favorite destination and we have found that the water park or movie theater in Baxter or Brainerd is only a short drive away. On the clear days, not much beats the sunsets over the lake as viewed from the dock or from the swing that overlooks the lake, unless its the almost nightly family time around a campfire with the loons calling in the backround. We have thoroughly enjoyed out visits to Camp Holiday and especially finding a vacation cabin that was and is big enough to accommodate all the family easily and give us the opportunity to spend time together in a relaxing atmosphere. The coming year will be our 9th.
