  • Ons familiehuis in Denemarken, Maine, is beschikbaar voor wekelijkse verhuur. Je hebt 200+ voet privé waterfront en zandstrand aan Long Pond met uitzicht op Pleasant Mountain - geweldige zonsopgang, privé-zwemdok, 2 kajaks en een kano. Het huis heeft een afgeschermde veranda, een groot terras met uitzicht op het meer, een woon / eetkamer, 5 slaapkamers, een complete keuken en een complete badkamer met bad en douche. Bovendien kunt u ontspannen in onze hangmat bij het strand, aan de picknicktafel, rond de ingebouwde vuurplaats of op het water.

    Voor meer plezier, het huis ligt op slechts 10 minuten van Fryeburg (302 West BBQ, de rivier de Saco, romantische herbergen voor het diner), op 15 minuten van Bridgton (Beierse chocolade haus, brouwerij, pubs, bioscopen, restaurants in overvloed, boekhandel, antiquing en meer), 20 minuten van Napels (attracties op de verhoogde weg) en 30 minuten van North Conway, NH. We boeken voor lente / zomer / herfst van 2019.

Rustic Clean with Beautiful View

Perfect Stay! We loved the view and the property was as advertised. Very clean and Rustic. Easy check in and out. Had friends visit while we stayed and they said that they would love to come back and stay there! We enjoyed ourselves and would gladly come back and stay again!

Perfect nature getaway

This is the perfect spot for a place to rejuvenate and enjoy nature. The house is located in the woods with a breathtaking view of the lake and mountain. The setting is peaceful and quiet with easy access to hiking and water sports. The house has a well-equipped kitchen for your cooking at home needs and Sherry is a wonderful host. We stayed at this cabin for a week and overall had a great experience. The location is absolutely gorgeous, and the large windows showcase breathtaking mountain views that were easily one of our favorite parts of the stay. The kayaks were wonderful, and we spent a lot of time enjoying the water. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook meals throughout the week, and we appreciated that the yard had been sprayed for bugs. Aside from some horseflies near the water (which is to be expected), insects weren’t an issue. There are leeches in the lake, but the water is so clear that they’re generally easy to spot and avoid.One thing future guests should be aware of is that we visited during an exceptionally hot week in July, and the cabin became extremely warm. It seems to trap heat, and because some of the windows don’t have screens, we weren’t able to open all of them to create better airflow. Unfortunately, we didn’t sleep much during our stay because of the heat, and it was difficult to relax indoors without feeling uncomfortable. Traveling with a baby and a dog made this especially challenging. We truly think adding air conditioning would make a huge difference and significantly improve the experience during the warmer months.Beautiful spot, so peaceful! Thank you!

My wife and I stayed here this past weekend for some quiet time and to visit the fryeburg fair. The pictures do not do this place justice! The views are breathtaking. The cabin is adorable with plenty of room.A gorgeous, quiet pond just steps from the door with kayaking and swimming. Amazing. Bugs were not a problem at all this time of year. House had everything we needed, cooked some great meals in the well stocked kitchen.Host was super nice and responsive, offered great suggestions for local attractions/restaurants, etc. 10/10, a perfect weekend - my wife and i immediately started talking about a return trip with the kids!

Road’s aren’t maintained. We needed to vacuum downstairs and upstairs at least 9 times Bathroom was clean. Mosquitoes ate as and swarmed us ever time you walked outside. Couldn’t enjoy outdoor activities. The view of lake was amazing. We made the best out of our vacation. And it was the hottest week weather ever since I think news said Covid.

Beautiful lake retreat

Watching the sun come up over the mountains, reflections on the lake. A beautiful place. Swimming to the swim float with our twin 4 year old and our six year old grandsons a treat. Watching them play with their parents on the float, no better memories can be made. My 4 year old grandson wanted to hook the lake up to his sass’s car and bring it home.

We were looking for one last hooray of summer and we got it! The weather was mostly wonderful - 1.5 days of rain, but good for games and reading. We don't typically stay at places where we have to bring our linens, and though I thought we had everything, we forgot pillowcases. A trip to a nearby Dollar General solved that problem. Be careful in the bedrooms upstairs, those ceilings are low! But all of the beds were comfortable and everyone slept well. We spent the mornings reading on the porch with the hummingbirds, mid-day kayaking or swimming, and evening setting up camp fires. It was very Maine "up to camp" and we enjoyed our stay.

It was great for the size. Able to sleep 7 without a problem. Cabin was randomly organized. Only 1 trash bag available. We had to bring the swim dock out by ourselves and watch out for the giant leaches. However once settled into the place overall a good week

Rustic Charm

The lake view was beautiful. Swimming is possible but not if your skwemish (like me). My husband and daughter paddleboarded everyday and our pup loved playing catch into the water. The location was private with a couple of friendly neighbors close by. The house is very rustic which gives it character and charm. The reason for giving a lower star rating on cleanliness is it is in need of a good spring cleaning, the upstairs dustness was too much for me. The bedroom downstairs was comfy. We enjoyed our time.

Great private space! Private beach with kayaks, canoes, floats, paddle board and a raft. The black flies were brutal! Of course that can’t be helped lol. Fire pit was enjoyable. We really loved the screened in porch for games, coffee and rocking. The beds were comfortable. The hosts were very attentive when we had an internet issue while working from there. It was rectified quickly and we didn’t miss any work. The only criticism I have is there is no air conditioning. Plenty of fans but there were a few uncomfortable nights. The host did say they are working on getting this for next season. It is a great find to just kick back and relax.

If I could give this place 10 stars for peace and tranquility I certainly would. We appreciated that we could have our senior dog there who enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the local wildlife. We loved the coziness of the cabin and the nostalgia about the place such as the screened in porch with the wooden slamming screen door. We explored the local towns of Fryeburg and Bridgton nearby that offered some great food and shopping. The food was awesome at 302 West and the lobster roll was excellent at Fryes Pizza in Fryeburg. The Corn Shop Trading Company in Bridgton had everything you could want for a souvenir and Reny’s was a great shopping experience as well. The weather conditions couldn’t have been better until mid week when a cold front moved in and the temperature dropped by almost 20 degrees overnight. Here’s where things got a little concerning. We had to use the cabin electric baseboard heat to stay warm. Our concern was the extension cords over those baseboards. We did our best to prop them up out of the way but the thought of a potential fire just didn’t make for a good night’s sleep.This cabin appeared to be in the process of renovation and upgrading. The description on vrbo stated the bathroom was newly renovated in 2024 and while everything seemed clean, there was absolutely no electrical outlet or exhaust vent in there. This was a minor inconvenience for my husband and I but I couldn’t fathom this working for my kids and grandchildren. Needs more renovations

Peaceful, Relaxing Rustic Camp

The camp was rustic, as others have said. Still, our needs regarding the kitchen, sleeping quarters, and property we're met. The view to the lake out to pleasant Mtn is beautiful, we hiked it. Lake is very quiet and not heavily populated. Some mentioned leeches. We stayed in July and only saw two. Did see herons, tons of turtles while kayaking. The beach and wharf are nice. Downsides: amenities list coin operated laundry but you have to drive 15 minutes to Bridgtown. We understood "amenities" to be on-site and would not have rented had we known. The camp is poorly ventilated and very hot. 2 of the 3 main floor bedroom windows have no screens and so can't be opened. Many windows are large and fixed in place. Most windows only allow 1 of 2 panes to open (other is fixed in place). There are fans but they just push hot air around. Couldn't step outside without a deerfly or several on you. Lake might be too small for some. We could kayak the entire perimeter in about an hour.

An abslutley wonderful cabin & lake front property. Deep in the woods, yet close to the amenities of civilization. A very peaceful & relaxing place to unwind & enjoy being surrounded by nature. One morning we watched a herd of deer make their way thru the property. Neighbors left & right, but you'd never know. Far enough away, you feel like you're here all alone. A good sized lake to kayak/canoe & fish on. Nice sandy beach & sandy lake bottom for swimming. The floating dock is a plus. Like us, it's a great place to bring your dog. Especially if your dog likes to swim. Good size fire pit with plenty of seating. We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the deck, watching the humming birds at the feeder, and soaking up the beautiful scenery. Jimbobs in Denmark is a neat little "provisions" store. Make sure you buy your coffee mug, or beer glass souvenir. Bridgton & Fryeburg are close by. Charming little towns with restaraunts, antique stores, and much more. A grill outdoors & fully stocked kitchen. All you need to bring is your own food. New Hampshire & the White Mountains are only an 1-1 1/2 hours away. You can make a day trip to Mt. Washington & the Kanc highway. Plenty of hiking trails nearby & in NH. Conway NH is another nice little town just across the border. It was everything we expected & then some. We couldn't be happier with our stay. Sherry, the host is very attentive to any questions & correspondence with her. If you enjoy relaxing in nature, this is a great place.

Rustic Cabin with Views

The cabin, property and pond have several highlights. The cabin is located on a very quiet road which we found very pleasant. Nice walks up the road with our children. We met some of the neighbors who were very friendly. It has a good beach with space to spread out, even with the high water this year. Small set of stairs from the lawn to the beach. There were kayaks and a canoe to use. We took the kayaks out and enjoyed ourselves with those. Large lawn and firepit along with table. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed for the cook. It also had a newer stove and fridge. The first floor bedroom was nice. There are some improvements needed in the shower, it seems to need work done by a professional. We greatly avoided it, only taking a couple showers that week and no baths. We found that there weren't many places to sit and read comfortably in the evening. The couch is constructed of wood with cushions that slide around quite a bit. Only 1 roll of toilet paper was available and we had to get more while we were out one day. The carpets were wet when we arrived downstairs and upstairs, I think the carpets may have been shampooed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. I don't think we would stay again though, unless the shower was addressed.

Perfect for families

My family and I spent a wonderful week here over the Fourth of July. What a perfect place for a family! The pond is very quiet and you truly feel like you have privacy while enjoying everything the outdoors have to offer. The stretch of private beach was perfect for my little ones to swim and play safely. We enjoyed the water everyday! We loved hanging out by the fire pit or in the screened in porch at night. The view of the mountain across the pond is absolutely beautiful. When I reached out with questions, Sherry responded promptly. The property is set up nicely and stocked with whatever you may need, just watch your head in the upstairs bedrooms! The slanted ceilings gave us all a good bump or two! And watch out for leeches while swimming in the pond. They were a bit worrisome with my little ones, but as long as you keep and eye out you’ll be fine. Overall, we had an amazing vacation and will look forward to hopefully staying again!

Rustic Cabin with Beautiful Views, But Cleanliness an Issue

Absolutely unbeatable scenery, with gorgeous views of forest, lake, and mountain. We really enjoyed spending time on the deck, in the hammock, and on the beach. The amenities in the rustic cabin were as expected and met our needs, but cleanliness was an issue. Nothing appeared to have been cleaned in some time, dirty dishes and dog toys/supplies were on counters and floors, and used sheets remained on the beds at our arrival (we were instructed to bring our own). We spent most of our first day vacuuming, cleaning sinks, etc. Overall, we had a good experience but wished the property had been much cleaner.

Cabin on Long Pond in Denmark

The location of this lakefront home is wonderful. It's on a very quiet, small (but large enough), clean pond with beautiful views of the lake and Pleasant Mountain. There are some other houses on this pond but they are spread out so it feels very private. This particular house has one of the nicest sandy beaches on the entire pond, as well as a new swimming platform. It's also very easy to walk from the house to the beach (other houses were set higher and had multiple stairs to reach water). The house itself is not fancy. It is a typical "camp-style" lake house. Lots of wood, no updates and could use some freshening up. In other words, if you are looking for new and fancy - this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a relaxing stay on a beautiful, serene pond (no motorized watercraft), just canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, this fits the bill for a very affordable stay on a lake. BBQ was hard to work. We couldn't get the propane tank nozzle to turn. Shower sprays the bathroom unless you are very careful and aim it just right. Oven could be cleaner. WiFi worked for our phones and Netflix but my son couldn't log into his work system (which we expected and it wasn't a big deal for us but if you are planning to work from there, be aware of that). Location is great: in between Fryeburg and Bridgton and not far from North Conway, NH. Lots of wonderful hiking available.
