Luxe Highlands Cottage op de Cromarty Firth

Gem Cottage is een prachtig, traditioneel gebouwd stenen huisje met een modern interieur aan de oevers van de Cromarty Firth. Het huisje beschikt over een aantal gemakken, waaronder een houtkachel, vloerverwarming, een sauna, een vrijstaand bad en een regendouche. Een steenworp afstand van de voordeur naar een rustige baai en stenen strand. Aan de achterzijde heeft het huisje een ononderbroken uitzicht op het Wyvis-gebergte en het Fyrish-monument. Schapen grazen in het veld achter het huisje. Op de NC500, slechts 20 mijl ten noorden van Inverness.

Binnen in het huisje is er een lichte, open woonkamer en keuken gecentreerd rond het gezellige houtvuur. De perfecte plek om te genieten van het uitzicht op de bergen, de zonsopgang boven de Cromarty Firth te bekijken of te genieten van de schapen die grazen in de velden achter het huisje. De leeszaal is gevuld met boeken of maak verbinding met de Wi-Fi of Smart TV en bekijk een film bij het vuur op een regenachtige dag. De volledig uitgeruste keuken is perfect om te dineren. Draai de Aga-houtbrander zo dat deze naar de eettafel wijst en geniet van een maaltijd bij het vuur.

Er is een slaapkamer met een super kingsize bed, een inloopkast en een eigen badkamer met een vrijstaand bad. Een tweede natte kamer badkamer, met regendouche en tweepersoons sauna, is de perfecte plek om te ontspannen en tot rust te komen na een dag buitenactiviteiten. Of om op te warmen na een open water duik in de lucht!

Er is een extra kamer (de leeszaal) met ligbed die wordt omgezet in twee eenpersoonsbedden met volledige enkele matrassen. Deze kamer heeft misschien wel de beste uitzichten in huis en is perfect om te ontspannen met een boek of als een flexibele extra slaapruimte los van de woonkamer. Ook inbegrepen, een aparte bijkeuken met wasmachine. Er is vloerverwarming in het hele huisje.

Het huisje biedt een spectaculair uitzicht op de Cromarty Firth. Elke dag is een beetje anders! Op een dag schijnt de zon en zal de Firth een stilstaand glas zijn dat de lucht en de bergen weerspiegelt. De volgende dag kan het weer woest zijn, met golven op het strand en sneeuw op de bergen. De baai is de perfecte plek om te zwemmen, paddle boarding of kajakken. Schapen grazen in de velden achter het huisje tot aan het achterdek. Het huisje ligt in een eenbaansweg, met slechts een paar buren, maar ligt op minder dan een mijl lopen naar Evanton, met winkel en pub.

Het huisje ligt direct aan de NC500. Een van 's werelds meest spectaculaire kusttoeroutes.

Lokale attracties: Black Rock Gorge, Fyrish Monument (15 minuten), Loch Glass (20 minuten), Ben Wyvis (45 minuten), Aviemore / Cairngorms National Park (1 uur)

Populaire Firth-wandelingen vanaf de Kiltearn-kerkruïne, op een paar honderd meter van de tuin.

Het huisje is allemaal een niveau met moderne brede deuropeningen, natte kamer en oprit toegang.
Brandhout, aanmaakhout en aanmaakblokjes zijn bij de boeking inbegrepen.

Fabulous Holiday in Gem House

Gabrielle’s attention to detail was amazing. She provided everything we could have wanted and more. There were numerous books on the history of Scotland as well as things to do in Scotland that we enjoyed pouring over. We also loved the wood burning stove, soaking tub and sauna…so relaxing after a day of hiking. I think what I personally enjoyed the most was all of the art work on the walls.and the extra touches that turn a house into a home. We highly recommend Gem House and would definitely return if we travel to Scotland in the future. Warm regards, Jandira and Tom

Perfectly beautiful!!!!!

My husband and I were based at this beautiful cottage during our trip to the Highlands. The communication with Gabrielle was on point no matter what the question and/or concern. She was extremely timely and accommodating in her replies - every time! The cottage’s setting is like something out of a movie. This property was immaculate, comfortable and cozy, amazing views from every window, well supplied kitchen, really nice front and side decks, minutes from the water and a wonderful old church steps away. It was the perfect location for all our day trips. We booked a 3 day tour of The Orkney and never worried for a minute about leaving the cottage and coming back to find everything was just as we left it. Gabrielle was so sweet to assure us that it was fine. The furniture, art work, decorative pieces, books and creature comforts were all perfect! Whether you are wanting to escape the chaos of the world, a romantic getaway, a base for all things Highlands - do not hesitate for one minute. You will be delighted and so thankful you did. Beyond Expectations

This property exceeded all of our expectations. The house is impeccably decorated to a high standard and style. Looks like an example from a decorating magazine. It’s an incredibly cozy cottage with wonderful views of sheep and hills out the back. Close to many local attractions. Gabrielle was very responsive, and nice touches like milk in the refrigerator and snacks upon arrival were greatly appreciated. I have stayed at many rental properties, and this one sits at the top. I highly recommend it

A Preeminent Property and Best Vacation Ever!!!!!

This is a fabulous property. We enjoyed an entire month here and fell absolutely in love with the location, the people, and the sites that are within a reasonable distance from the cottage. A walk out the front door can either take you along the firth on one side and sheep on the other, or along the firth to a lovely wood, the trail in the woods leads to the nearest village. The cottage itself exceeded all expectations. Modern fixtures and features were notable throughout the dwelling. A very comfortable place to relax in or return to after a day of adventure. The well-equipped kitchen was perfect for cooking in when desired. On cool evenings, building a fire in the woodstove offered great comfort and coziness. The big claw foot tub and little two-person sauna just topped off the comfort of this wonderful cottage. And, the cottage is beautifully decorated as well. The hostess, Gabrielle, is over the top competent in making sure our stay enjoyable. We unreservedly give this property and the hostess the highest of recommendation.

Gem Cottage was the perfect place for our first stay in this area. Cottage is comfortable and well-equipped and the views from it are lovely. Lots of good walks all around and easy access to a range of places to visit such as Dornoch, Cawdor Castle and the pottery at Tain. Can highly recommend.

Peaceful cottage

This is a beautiful cottage in a quiet location on the Cromarty Firth. Homely luxury. Fluffy white towels and dressing gowns, lovely toiletries, underfloor heating, beautiful bathrooms, well fitted kitchen, comfy bed. We used this as a base for golf and walks is and it didn’t disappoint. Would love to visit again.

We very much enjoyed our stay at "Gem Cottage" It's a great location for discovering and day trips to the highlands. Everything you need is provided for. Thanks Gabrielle for cake and biscuits- which my husband devoured. I stuck to the chilled bottle provided which was a treat!! Comfy large bed. Will visit again when/if in this area.

A wonderful stay in Evanton

We had a super time at Gem Cottage. The property was as beautiful as the photos, amazingly clean throughout with lovely quality bed linen and towels. The gorgeous Highland toiletries a welcome addition to the luxurious bathrooms. We had several local days outs, with a walk up to the local Fyrish Monument being a favourite on a cold clear morning - amazing views for miles around. I would highly recommend staying here , with lots nearby to see and do. Our family can’t wait to return.

Perfect holiday getway!

Gabrielles Gem Cottage is so aptly named. It’s the perfect little gem to bunker down for the holidays and that is exactly what my husband and I did. Of course the luxury amenities such as heated floors and the sauna ( not to mention a claw foot tub!) but Gabrielle's added touches of holiday cheer made us feel most welcome! Can not recommend enough and do hope to be able to stay again!!

Truly a gem, no doubt about it. Everything was as advertised and then some. We really enjoyed the peace, quiet, and picturesque surroundings. Lovely cottage

This cottage is a real gem. You can immediately see the accurateness with which the house is arranged. Every room is well-equipped - especially the kitchen and the bathrooms. The cottage can be found at a quiet place near the sea however the position is very suitable to undertake trips at the area around. We felt very comfortable and would highly recommened this place.
