Expected Doha to me a miniature version of Dubai, but it was run-down, smelly, and dusty.

More of a 3 star, dont let pics fool you. Also front desk staff need better customer service training. Dont take taxi from here, uber works great and is half the overinflated hotel rate.

this hotel has a very good room, and very close is an Irish pub (at the top of the Westing house hotel), also one block as a bus stop to take you to the metro station to avoid incredible powerful sun in Qatar

The hotel itself is good and the staff was very helpful with the problems of the Ehteraz app. The only bad part, and this will be fixed in a few years, is the area is a huge construction zone. It's nearly impossible to walk to the metro station or souk or waterfront because the roads are blocked off, torn up, barricades, fences and construction equipment everywhere. In fact the whole city seems to be under construction. It will be good once it's finished but right now I would not stay in this area.

Perfect stay
Everything was perfect. The front desk staff was so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I was really impressed with the service! The location was great! It was easy walking distance to the Souk and the Islamic Art Museum. Very comfortable room. Complimentary tea in the lobby is delicious. Actually really loved the toiletries in the room! I would absolutely stay here again.

I had reservations and had to wait for over an hour so they upgraded me to a suite which had a descent bedroom, but a horrible living room with dark and old depressing furniture and not even any decor of any kind just dark and plain. I was not happy and

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und immer bemüht, uns einen tollen Aufenthalt zu gewährleisten. Nur leider war das Hotel sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Schimmel an der Decke, eine defekte Klospülung und ein abgeklebtes Fenster (kaputt), sind nur kleine Beispiele hierfür. Im Speiseraum wurden die Tische unter den Glasplatten noch nie gesöubert. Es ist teilweise wirklich sehr dreckig und man ekelt sich.

Smart hotel, excellent location
Helpful, friendly staff with an excellent free airport service.. Good size, smart room with a view to the sea in the distance. Breakfast reasonable including a cooked omelette, evening buffet OK at a reasonable price. You can't really get away from the TVs as they have 7 of them in the dining room but they will turn the sound down if requested. Nice pool area on the top floor. One unusual feature is that a small mosque is just below the hotel on the sea facing side so you can listen to the Imam calling the faithful to prayer at 5am, lunchtime, afternoon and evening which I enjoyed. Excellent location situated a few minutes walk from the sea front promenade, the souk (good selection of restaurants), the Museum of Islamic Art (sensational) and the Qatar National Museum (opens late March 2019).

Property is decent. Rooms are clean, modern and functional. WiFi is free but oscillates between fast and slow internet speeds.

Adequate, but not 4 star quality
Hotel is fine, but not up to par with the quality you'd expect with 4 stars. Shower had some mold, towels were thin and small, bedding had a small cigarette burn, etc.. Nothing that ruined the stay, but there are lots of other options in the area if the small details matter to you. That being said, wifi worked well and if your flight aligns with the hotel shuttle schedule a free airport transfer is always appreciated.

Good Hotel for Long Layover.
We stayed here on a 12 hour layover - it's a 10 minute walk to the Museum of Islamic Arts and only 20 minutes from the airport (they have a free shuttle every 2 hours). It's in an area with a bunch of other hotels and not much else, but a cheap/quick Uber ride can take you anywhere in the city. It was a good and affordable place to stay for such a short amount of time.

Dejligt hotel til en lav prisklasse med kvalitet i topklasse. Hotellets personale er altid smilende, yder en fantastisk service og får gæsten til at føle sig velkommen. Personale er behjælpelig med at finde udflugter og leje af bil uden at betale over pris. Der forekommer mulighed for at parkere på hotellets grund. Rengøring hver dag med i opfyldning af toiletartikler, kaffe/te og vand. Gratis aviser hver dag. God mindre swimmingpool på toppen af hotellet, hvor man har mulighed for at nyde kaffen fra hotellets restaurant. Aircondition som virker perfekt. Hotellet er centralt placeret med en beliggenhed i gode opgivelser med gratis museum, Souk Wakif som vrimler med indkøbsmuligheder og cafeer/restauranter, kulturcenter, promenaden, hvor der er mulighed for at oplade gratis telefonen og sidde og se de flotte indiske farvestrålende træbåde og meget mere. Mange supermarkeder i området. Airport shuttle service til/fra hotellet hver 2. time - 12 gange i døgnet, hvis man har behov for dette. Hotellet ligger 10-12 minutter fra lufthavnen uden at man hører fly over hotellet. I would recommend the Royal Riviera Hotel, Doha.
We enjoyed our one night stay at the Royal Riviera Hotel. Even though we hadn't thought ahead to book their airport shuttle service, the information booth at the Airport contacted the Hotel and they sent their van (it was just past midnight) to collect us. We were impressed. Upon our arrival, we were also asked what time we liked to check out, and as our flights were at 9.30 pm that day, we were allowed to check out at 6 pm. Again, we thought that was great. All the staff spoke excellent English, were very helpful and polite. I would definitely stay there again.
