'This self-acclaimed hotel closed a year ago in a totally run-down state. Some four months ago it was bought by a new (US citizen) owner who is trying to rebuild the place. Currently there is one room that looks quite okay, however there is no reception, no personnel apart from a local housekeeper.
The problem starts with the entrance. When we arrived on December 14 around noon, the gate was closed, while there is no name sign nor anything else that indicates the existence of a hotel. It looks...

'The house is very clean and has a lot of space. The bathrooms are large, and the mattresses are very comfortable. I really loved the house overall.
However, there were a few issues. The listing mentioned a washer and dryer, but it did not specify that there is an extra $10 per day fee to use them. Also, on the day of check-out, there was no water in the house because the tank was empty. The host did offer some alternatives, but it was still very inconvenient.

'Laguna de Apoyo is truly a paradise location. Birds and sometimes monkeys and iguanas coming close.The next door hotel is not functioning, so the place is quite calm.Swimming in the Laguna is a incredible treat!Unfortunately 'La Giralda' really needs investment and renovation.The air conditioning is so noisy that it is impossible to use.
