Green Gables is located in the picturesque town of Douglas. Sister town to Saugatuck, Douglas is a laid-back, yet high-class, travel destination, known for its world-renowned art galleries. Douglas is quiet enough to sit outside and hear nothing but the breeze and the birds chirping, yet vibrant enough to offer food, drinks, and entertainment that would suit a city many times its size. Locally owned businesses line the streets of downtown, and if you manage to exhaust Downtown Douglas—which you may not—Downtown Saugatuck is less than five minutes away by car or easily available on foot or by bicycle.

After you’ve sampled the local food and drinks—many grown right here in this top-producing agricultural region—and shopped at our many independent boutiques, head out into Pure Michigan's natural beauty at our gorgeous beaches, trails, and state parks. Nearby Oval Beach was ranked by Conde Nast Traveler as one of the top 25 best shorelines on the entire planet! Rent a watercraft or take a dip in sparkling, immaculate Lake Michigan, then climb our mountainous sand dunes to shady wooded trails.

Welcome to Green Gables, where high-end luxury detailing meets family-friendly functionality. This enormous space comfortably fits 15 of your nearest and dearest! You will compromise nothing with this home featuring both indoor and outdoor beauty, both charm and utility, both historic presence and modern updates. Gleaming hardwood floors, loads of space, tasteful updates, and endless opportunities for FUN!

As you enter the main level, you will find flowing entertaining and living spaces for chatting around the fireplace, cooking and dining at home, and spreading out onto the wide porch and beautiful backyard oasis. Grab a cup of coffee or tea from our locally sourced beverage bar and choose from a plethora of cozy seating choices! The main floor is also home to a queen pullout room, queen bedroom, two full baths, and separate full-scale laundry facilities. Head upstairs to find one king bedroom, one queen bedroom, a family room with both a queen bed and two twins, and a large full bathroom. In the lower level, you will find the ultimate hangout space, another full bathroom, and a bedroom perfect for a kiddo sleepover party with three twins and a trundle bed. All bedrooms are stocked with gorgeous Parachute linens, and all baths feature luxury bath products.

The parklike outdoor space offers vacation joy for every age. Little ones will spend hours playing in the adorable custom playhouse, while adults enjoy a local Michigan beer or wine on the expansive and shaded patio. Get a pickup game of basketball going and pluck some herbs from the garden for dinner or cocktails. Grilling is a delight at this property! The whole group can end their day around the large stone fire pit with ample space for the whole crew.

Green Gables is mere steps from Downtown Douglas and a short drive from Saugatuck, Fennville, many beaches, and various wineries/breweries. Don't feel like driving? No problem there! The Saugatuck Township Interurban Transit Authority offers pick-ups and drop-offs for only $1 each way to anywhere in Saugatuck Township. Simply call in the moment or ahead and reserve a time and pick-up/drop-off location, and your chariot awaits!

Want to venture out into the rest of Michigan's Art Coast? Downtown South Haven and Holland are only a 20-minute drive away and offer a whole different vibe filled with other activities to explore!

We love a gathering of loved ones but there are to be no events on property. If you’re a group that likes to play loud music into the wee hours of the night, this is not the property for you. Neighborhood quiet hours between 10pm-7am are strictly enforced.

Primary Reservation Holder must be above the age of 25.

We love our pets! We invite you to bring up to 2 doggies.
Our Pet Fee is $145 and will include a Pet Basket for you to use during your stay: Food and Water Bowls, Waste Bags, Lavender Pet Shampoo, Pet Stain Remover, Puppy Towel, and a little Treat :) Woof Woof!
