'what do you expect from a hotel which is very cheap. we found it out and it became true. the room was not in a very good condition, not very proper and not been cleaned during the four nights we were there. dogs in another room which made a lot of noise and a strange machine outside which also made a teriible noise even till late. Only down side was that they finish up at 10 pm and we had guests joining us for dinner, so we felt a bit rushed in the end because we weren't informed in advance. 'I received a free upgrade to one of the Lodges so don't actually know about Davy Cottage.
However, the lodge called Owls Nest was lovely. Spacious, well equipped, clean and really comfortable. The view was great. Parking was directly outside.
The road is rather pot-holed (not unlike the rest of the country!) and I didn't like the black towels which left lint all over me, but that is really me being finicky!

The best thing is the view across looe and out to sea. Looe is a very nice place to stay with good shops and pubs. It is handy for a number of national trust properties. 'Bedden waren goed, kamer was ruim, vond het beneden in het restaurant wat naar frituurvet ruiken.
Vlak naast het hotel ligt een heel oud kerkhof wat ik erg mooi en pittoresk vond. Een graf uit 1856.!'
