My family is so glad that we chose this property for our three-night stay in Bahía Drake! The house was spotlessly clean and included everything that we needed. The beds were comfortable and there were more than enough outlets for charging all of our devices. The Wi-Fi worked well, when we needed it. The outside space is beautiful and comfortable and the view of Drake Bay is absolutely stunning! Getting to Drake Bay wasn’t easy, but once we arrived, we discovered that Binya House was in the perfect location with easy access to everything in town (including the beach from which many of the Corcovado tour boats launch). Things to note:- The host, Debra, and the onsite property manager, José, are incredibly friendly, helpful, and responsive.- The home includes gated off-street parking, which is a huge plus given Drake’s narrow streets.- The A/C units are located in both bedrooms. There is a twin bed in the common room (no A/C), but we were easily able to fit it in a bedroom so that we could all sleep with A/C.- Although the listing mentions washer/dryer and they are included in photos of the property, they are no longer available for guest use. However, there is a laundromat right across the street and the caretaker also offered to help us with our laundry.- During our stay, the power to the whole town went out for a couple of hours. The hosts couldn’t control that, but they quickly provided candles and insights to help us stay comfortable.100% recommend!

This property was in a central location with a great view. It was clean and was stocked with some basic items that were very helpful, such as oil, sugar, vinegar, and coffee. The air conditioning was important since it stayed very hot, even at night. Be forewarned that there was warm water for the shower, but not for anything else. That's just how it is in a small, remote village. The experience was worth it. Nearby restaurants were not expensive and they were all excellent. We cooked on the grill at the house a couple of nights, and that was great too. Jose booked our tours and taxis and was a great help. He was easy to contact since he lived in another cottage on-site. I would highly recommend this property for those who are okay with something more adventurous than a hotel.

We loved our stay in Drake’s Bay - Debra’s home is very comfortable and has everything you need for a fantastic stay. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bedrooms have lots of storage room and the AC works very well in each room. We loved sitting outside with the fabulous view over the bay, especially at sunset. The house is perfectly located for day tours to Corcovado, only minutes walk to the boat pick up and drop off. Also there are many great restaurants nearby in walking distance, Kalaluna Bistro was one of our favourites! Jose was a great help and there for when we had any questions. The house was exceptionally clean and peaceful. Would recommend staying here for anyone looking to explore Drake’s Bay and Corcovado. Thank you Debra for everything!

The view overlooking Drake Bay is amazing. The house was clean and well furnished. Air conditioners work great. Lots of foliage between the home and the beach so I got some good bird photos from the yard, even a couple hummingbirds. Jose was our contact person and met us at the home on arrival, he was easy to contact with using Whatsapp and even helped us book a night tour in Drake Bay (highly recommended). Restaurants and stores all within a couple minute walk. The pickup points for Corcovado boats and beach are also just a couple minute walk. We loved it here and would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed the responsiveness of the owner, close location, great view, comfortable beds, easy kitchen and Jose (on site ) was extremely helpful and attentive. We did figure out the hot water in the shower but it is not something we were familiar with. I may have missed the explanation but I think something in the bathroom would be helpful.

Perfect location with amazing views! Enjoyed all of the beautiful birds that visited daily. The property manager Jose was more than accommodating. The home was comfortable and provided everything we needed for our 8 day stay. Highly recommend!

This is a quaint little old beach house. It is nothing fancy, but comfortable with a lovely view. There is not much to walk and see, but there are a few restaurants and markets close to meet your needs. It is also an easy walk to the beach where all the boats pick-up and drop-off. We enjoyed a gorgeous 360 degree sunset the last night from this amazing vantage point.

This place was fantastic. The view of Drake Bay from the back lawn was beautiful. The location is in the heart of town, just a short walk up the road gets you to the two grocery markets and a quick walk down the hill gets you to the beach. The host, Kim, was incredible and helped us book tours to Corcovado and Isla Cano. Drake Bay is an incredibly amazing town, quiet and peaceful compared to other destinations in Costa Rica and this house was a perfect place for us to stay to enjoy. Can’t wait to go back

Drake Bay is a very small town, and this house is right in the middle of it, within a very short walk to the stores and restaurants, and overlooking the Bay. Other available properties are immersed more within the jungle canopy, amid the trees and animals, but farther from town. All options, including this one are great. It is a trade off though. I did expect to see more wildlife at this home, but saw very little other than hummingbirds. Loved the washer/dryer, kitchen, air conditioning, affordability, property owner, and location. Spoke to many locals and tour guides. They all knew this house and owner. They all had very good things to say about this owner and her contributions to the community.

We had a wonderful stay here. Great location, very comfortable house. Beautiful ocean and sunset views and everything we could possibly need in the cupboards. very helpful host. Answered all our questions and even helped us book a tour to Corcovado. Thank you so much for sharing your great house with us. We will definitely stay here when we come back next time!

Took two of my young teenagers to Drake Bay. The house is located on the tiny beach “cliff” over looking Drake Bay. The location is very convenient to the Grocery stores, hiking trails and restaurants. Drake Bay is a very quiet, small village and is a good adventure. The small house setup is good with two bedrooms - each with split unit ACs and open kitchen/sitting area. The hosts met us at the beach, as we took the boat from Sierpe. They helped with our luggage and drive the minute to the house. They were very knowledgeable of the area, offered great advice and can setup up tours.

For the second year in a row we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Binya house. The location of the property is perfect, just above the bay with only a few steps into town. The house is clean, comfortable, and equipped with all the necessary provisions. We loved watching sunset over the bay and having morning coffee on the patio with gorgeous birds galore. Drake is a nature lover’s paradise and we will absolutely be back to stay at Binya house!

Clean, well located and fabulous view! Very adventurous area-we went to the cocovado Park, fishing and snorkeling with Eric, on a 5 am bird tour, a trip through the mangroves and 2 hikes to corcolito beach! Our favourite restaurant was Roberto’s as it was delicious and open to the ocean breeze. We ate in the house 4 times as the À/C makes it so comfortable in the evenings.

Binya House was the perfect place to stay in Drake Bay. It was clean and comfortable and the view was amazing. It is right in town so we were able to immerse ourselves in the local flavor of the town and people. Eric was a great Dive master and a wonderful help in booking tours and giving us information. We loved staying at Binya House. Drake Bay area is so unique and beautiful. The house overlooks the bay and the back yard has beautiful views of the water and coastline. Lots of birds and flowers around. The house is vey comfortable and decorated so beachy / funky fun with bright colors and tile floors. The house was great for the four of us, plenty of room, roomy bedrooms kept cool with AC, nice little kitchen and dining area. We spent most of our time outside exploring the area. We met many wonderful friendly people. Franklin who picked us up at airport and took us back there was an awesome driver and what a ride! Hank filled us in on the house and the area and Eric set us up for our trip to Corcovado. Everyone we met in the village and the restaurants were so friendly and helpful. Kalaluna was our fav restaurant We saw lots of wildlife and birds everywhere. It was the end of the rainy season so it was wet, but it’s warm rain and no big deal. Loved it, would stay there again if we get back to that area.

I want to start by saying Drake Bay is a unique and beautiful place to visit however it is very much 3rd world country there. The home was clean and sufficient but the rooms had a very damp smell. The water for the entire town comes straight from the mountain so twice we were without water for a while. The people in town are very friendly and we felt safe the entire time. We enjoyed seeing iguanas, parrots and monkeys literally 30’ from our door. The location is very remote so for the minimal amount of options to stay at, it appeared that this home was the best choice. I will say that the views from the home are priceless!! Absolutely breathtaking!

You cannot find a better place to stay in Drake Bay than right here! First, location in travel is so important. This house is a short walk (2 to 5 minutes) from everything in Drake Bay. Whether that's going to a grocery store, a restaurant, or starting your tour for the day. Second, Eric, your very own "concierge", located next door, is right there to make sure you have everything you need while in Drake Bay. He runs the dive shop and water tours and is an amazing dive master and guide if you want to do some scuba diving or snorkeling or whale/dolphin watching while in town. It's also a great comfort to know that after traveling to a remote location far from home, someone is there to ensure you have a fun and safe stay. And Debra was in contact with us the whole time, checking in to make sure we had what we needed. Lastly, but not least, the house itself is very comfortable and a welcome sanctuary to rest and recover from your adventures. Exactly as advertised, you have a beautiful, fantastic view of the ocean and bay, surrounded by a wall of flowers, giving you privacy. AC in both bedrooms keep the place cool and comfortable on even the hottest and most humid day. If you are looking for a safe haven in the jungle as your base for adventuring in and around Drake Bay, or just a wonderful place to relax and unwind, we cannot recommend this house more highly.

This house was great! Perfect location within easy walking distance to all you need (markets, restaurants, etc). View from the house was awesome. House was clean and very functional. Communication with Debra was great. She assisted in booking all our tours which made our time there very easy. Check in was simple with Eric who met us at the beach after our boat ride from Sierpe. Would recommend a day in Corcovado - saw lots of animals (Sirena station). Night tour was fun as was a day out with Eric on the boat for snorkeling and whale/dolphin watching. We had an wonderful few days here and would highly recommend the house and this area of Costa Rica.

Our number one must be the view which was superb, overlooking the ocean whilst you watch the boats come and go in the bay. The garden with the birds and the iguanas was also a bonus. The location within walking distance of two good sized supermarkets, restaurants and the beach is convenient although this did mean, a little traffic noise with vehicles travelling up the hill was also noticeable. The air-conditioning units in the bedrooms both worked well and was very welcome! Hank, Eric and Kimberley look after us well during our stay and were very helpful. Being British holiday makers, the only kitchen item we missed was an electric kettle wherever we stayed in Costa Rica for making a cup of tea! Thank you all for a great stay at Binya House!

This was our 3rd visit to CR, but our first to this area and it was spectacular! For an adventure, nature, animal, ocean/beach loving family like ours, this area was perfect for doing it all and relaxing. We spent 9 days in Bahia Drake and easily could've stayed longer and explored more. With our 8.5 & 5.5 year old boys, we went zip lining, did a hike in Corcovado via Sirena ranger station, a night hike, kayaked up a river, spent a full day out on Erick's boat-Pelagic Fish- to SCUBA/snorkel, visited Cano Island, fished, saw sea turtles, dolphins and humpbacks, and spent our relaxing days on the beach and walked the path to Cocalito Beach too. We saw 3 different species of monkeys, pairs and groups of scarlett macaws everyday, toucans and dozens of other bird species, iguanas, a tapir napping, a 3 toed sloth, a Fer De Lance snake (one of most venemous in CR!), frogs/toads, spiders, lizards, geckos, hermit crabs, tarantulas, leaf cutter ants and so many other cool species of insects. Debra, Erick, Hank, Andre, & Alexa were all so helpful. The house was modest and had the basic necessaties. We were able to get some groceries for breakfasts/lunches at the small grocery stores/produce markets and enjoyed dinners at Carey's, Claudio's, Tortuga, Delicias, Bahia Azul and stayed in a few nights too - especially the night we caught our own dinner with Erick and prepared our own ceviche from bluefin jack and another asian fish dish from the albacore. We are not the "all-inclusive/resort" family type, so for the price & wanting to be in the center of doing it all in that area, this house was ideal. We brought with us school supplies to donate to the local school and everyone was so friendly. We were pleasantly surprised to see very little trash on the beaches and spent our last morning cleaning up trash along the dirt road from the house down to the beach (which was still pretty minimal compared to some other areas of the world that are becoming so trash-ridden - including the town we live in). Our family motto is eat well, travel often and we can all make a difference. We spent our last 2 nights in San Gerardo in the cloud forest just so we were closer to the airport for our saturday flight home. This area of Costa Rica is truly a must see and at times, it truly felt like we were in a Nat Geo episode.For biology/nature/animal & ocean nerds like us, it was truly paradise. I’m happy to say I picked the best place to stay in Drake Bay! The house is very comfortable, centrally located, and has a view to die for. Eric checked on us daily and helped us with whatever we needed. He took us diving and set up a zip lining tour for us. We enjoyed his company and friendship while there. We would definitely come again!

Binya House was perfect for our week at Bahia Drake! The house is perfectly located on a bluff overlooking the beach, which was a five minute walk down the road. The view was incredible, the house was comfortable, clean, with everything we needed to prepare our own meals. The air conditioning was a plus, and both Hank and Eric (next door neighbor and caretaker) were super helpful. There’s a trail at the end of the beach in which one can hike for hours to beautiful, secluded coves which was the highlight of our trip, and we loved coming back to the house at the end of the day for a relaxing early evening on the patio. The laid back vibe and remoteness of Drake made it the perfect location for us. We were sad to leave but will definitely return!

Binya House was an amazing location that wasn’t too touristy with a ton to do. Debra booked a night tour into the jungle and a day tour to NP Corcovado for us. Erick booked us a snorkeling trip to Caño Island. The house was well suited to our needs. We lived that we could cook meals and do laundry. The air conditioning was a huge plus. The views over Drake Bay were spectacular, and we really loved the diversity of birds that visited the back yard.

Binya House was absolutely perfect for our family of five (2 adults, 3 children ages 7-10). The views are outstanding and Drake Bay is an amazing destination. Debra and Erick were fabulous in helping coordinate things - Erick stopped by daily to help us arrange tours and had excellent recommendations - we did the floating tour (everyone's favorite!), Corcovado, and the canopy tour. We saw macaws and monkeys on a short hike near the house and watched two iguanas play every day in the tree behind the house. We were so sad to leave and return to reality!

Binya House was located within the town so was convenient to restaurants, groceries, beach, etc. It had an incredible view of the beach. You could watch the waves and boats in the bay. House had all we needed. A/C was a big plus. Debra and Erik were fantastic in arranging tours and coordinating logistics. If you are interested in being in the rain forest but want to stay in a home instead of hotel, this is the place to be.

AMAZING views of Drake Bay from Binya House! The house has everything you need and is just a short walk from grocery stores, restaurants, and the beach. We loved seeing all the birds and iguanas in the surrounding trees. Scarlett macaws flew across the ocean almost every day. Jungle trails to isolated beaches right nearby. Alex was also very kind and helpful. We treasured our time here and highly recommend it!

We had a great 5 day/night stay at Binya House! The house was a perfect size for the 2 of us, but could have fitted more. It is located on a bluff over the soccer field, and has a fantastic view of Drake Bay. We loved sitting on the patio watching the local wildlife. Being in town, restaurants and stores are just a short walk away. Debra was very responsive & helpful with the planning of our tours and trip. Alex was totally appreciated; he met us on the beach after we took the boat from Sierpe and he helped with day to day planning. Hank the neighbor was also informative & helpful. Don't miss the Pelagic tour with Erick! It was a great day on the water, finding turtles and dolphins and other sea life.

Drake Bay was an amazing experience. We tried to do it all in three days, which I would advise against. Take at least one day to enjoy the cottage. The cottage had everything we needed. The snorkling tour was excellent, saw sharks, turtles and tons of colourful fish. Watching the macaws fly by the cottage was breathtaking. We saw a ton of animals in the park. The surrounding restaurants had great food. Overall everything was terrific.
