Een niet groot, maar heel prettig hotel, met een vriendelijke staf. Gelegen aan de Baniyas Road met fraai uitzicht op de Dubai Creek; op enkele minuten lopen van de metro; en op loopafstand van de beste souks van oud Dubai.

Leuk hotel voor een leuk bedrag
De vriendelijkheid en de service van de staf was uitstekend. Deur openhouden bij in en uitgaan, een groet, een glimlach bijvoorbeeld kan veel betekenen. Netjes! Hotel is wel toe aan een opknapbeurt, maar het was nergens storend. Strategisch ligt het goed, vlakbij 2 metro's en het is er met veel winkels en restaurants erg levendig. Ontbijt was redelijk tot goed. Wel een minpunt was de constructie naast het hotel dat 24 uur doorging maar Dubai is dat eerder regel dan uitzondering. Al met al zou ik hotel Riviera zeker aanraden. Neem een kamer met uitzicht op Dubai creek.

Dissappointing
As family of four, we booked two non smoking rooms but as it turns out got "smoking" rooms. Staff was not willing to correct this because we didn't immediately "discovered" it (we dropped our bags in one room and went into town). It left us a bad feeling about this hotel's client service.

prachtige ligging in de buurt van Dubai Creek
Het personeel was echt vriendelijk en probeerde ons zo vlug mogelijk een kamer te bezorgen. We kregen zelfs een executive room vermits het ons eerste bezoek was. We mochten ook iets langer op de kamer blijven vermits we een nachtvlucht hadden geboekt. Internet was ook gratis per dag ongeveer 15 minutes. Metro is ook dicht in de buurt en geeft de mogelijkheid om op goedkope manier Dubai te verkennen. Bij een eventueel volgend bezoek aan Dubai zal ik zeker dit hotel terug boeken.

Hotel Riviera, Baniyas Road, Deira
We hadden het hotel geboekt op basis van de recensies op internet - goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding, vriendelijk personeel, uitstekend ontbijtbuffet (inbegrepen in de kamerprijs). Dit werd alles bevestigd - we hadden een mooie ruime kamer, het personeel was zonder uitzondering zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam, en het ontbijtbuffet was van zeer goede kwaliteit (voor een dergelijk buffet hebben we ook al eens een bedrag betaald waarvoor we hier de kamer hadden inclusief ontbijt). Daarnaast is ook het restaurant (Hana) aan te bevelen - prima kaart, goed bereid, en niet duur. De ligging van het hotel is ook gunstig, dicht bij de kruiden- en goud soeks, aan de Creek bij de oude haven van Deira, op een kwartiertje per taxi van downtown (Dubai Mall). Als je het niet erg vindt dat je geen alcoholische dranken kan bestellen in het hotel, is dit zeker een aanrader!

I liked being in a part of town that is old and has some history. I also liked to be on the Dubai Creek and enjoyed thaking the small ferries to visit some sights. Very convenient to the metro as well. The room was very comfortable and well furnished. The cafeteria service off-hours was great and breakfast was very abundant and offered great variety of food.

Excelente hotel em frente ao canal pitoresco
Excelente hotel, de alto padrão, com decoração maravilhosa (nas áreas comuns e no quarto), tradicional. Limpeza impecável, atendimento muito gentil e eficiente. Quarto com boa cama King, banheiro grande com banheira, chuveiro (seria bom ter barra para quem toma banho de chiveiro) e tem também bidê. Amenidades no banheiro excelentes. Tem cafeteira e chaleira, água para beber gratis, geladeira, escrivaninha para computador, TV Led com Cable TV, WiFi bom, balcão com vista para o mar (canal, com barcos de passeio, bonito de dia e também à noite). Restaurante para desjejum e almoço bons, e excelente serviço de restaurante para o quarto. Localização boa, perto de lojas de presentes e eletronicos, restaurantes. Pode fazer passeios de barco,inclusive no outro lado do canal, para cidade velha e atrações. Fica uns 30 minutos de carro do Burj Khalia, Dubai Mail, Dubai intl Trade center (exposições), do.museu do futuro. Tem metrô proximo. A 19 min do Aeroporto (DXB). Têm muitos hóspedes do mundo todo, inclusive da Rússia. Especial destaque ao atendimento do gerente na recepção Sr. Waleed (jordaniano), da recepcionista do desjejum Lecsi (cubana) e garçom do restaurante Rauf (da India) Recomendo pelo conforto, atendimento e requinto especial.

Good Deira location and good value
As a previous resident of Dubai, the hotel met all my expectations: namely being in a great location in the older part of the city, a few minutes walk from Baniyas square metro station, restaurants, supermarkets and shops of all kinds. It also was clean, friendly and helpful staff, and good value for money compared with newer hotels. The only issue is no parking, but having a car in that area is a hassle compared to using the metro and taxis. A taxi to the airport is 25-30 Dirhams and 10-15 minutes. I recommend the hotel, and want to give particular thanks to the employee who helped me round up the 10 dirhams in coins which I needed to park across the street (but not easy to find a space) on the day I checked in and before returning a car. I would definitely stay there again.

Don't waste your money
I booked a royal suite creek view with Balcony for New Year’s Eve to have good time with my girlfriend and watch the fireworks. They denied us staying at the hotel because we don’t have a marriage certificate, although the laws have changed in the UAE. When I requested a refund they rudely refused. If you book with this hotel you will be loosing your money for nothing.

Dear our Guest, First, we would like thank you for your interest in our hotel to stay for the New Year’s Eve, as well we apologize that we couldn't meet your expectations, you have booked our royal suite for a single person but upon check in we had been surprised that you were claiming that the booking is for two persons you and your girlfriend which was not matching with the number of persons for the booked room, our front office team politely and professionally asked you to provide us a marriage proof as per our hotel's policy in order to proceed the check-in process but you have denied this request, that's why we couldn't proceed the check-in or the booking costs refund requested due to your booking non-refundable cancellation policy.Looking forward to welcoming you again at RIVIERA HOTEL DUBAI

Staff was excellent Location was perfect Hotel was good. Only thing I was unhappy was that I had booked car from hotel to be picked from airport as we landed around 2 am and I thought it be more economical. To my surprise I found that it cost only around 30 AED vs 80 AED I was charged.

Parking was atrocious; it took 40 minutes to find a spot in the lot directly opposite the hotel. The staff at the counter did not know how to assist with identifying the location to enter to pay for parking online. Room was clean. There were no face cloths. The balcony was a nice size but there was no seating. Fan on balcony was noisy and ill-placed. They only allotted two 500ml water bottles each day. Breakfast was decent for the price.
