I have been traveling a lot for work for well over a decade, and unfortunately, this has been the second-biggest accommodation disappointment to date. Based on its great reviews, I was expecting a nice stay, but I ended up with a room that smelled like mold and had at least one big visible mold spot (I have photos and videos to prove this). Since my stay was only a few nights and the staff was exceptionally nice to me, I didn't complain, but I hope they do something about the mold situation. The property consists of two buildings, a regular house in the front that was warm and smelled nice, and a few additional units in the back yard. I stayed in one of the latter, so I suspect the positive reviews come from rooms in the main building.

Marathon weekend stay
This is an amazing guest house. Spotless clean. Martins and Terry couldn’t do enough. Will definitely return. 5 star service.

A brilliant discovery, worth coming back to
Lovely, extremely clean, wonderful friendly proprietors, in a safe and convenient location. My garden room was gorgeous - made me wish I'd booked to stay longer than just one night. Everything was A+. Pro-tip - do take the recommendations for where to go and what to do in Dublin - everything they suggested to me was spot-on perfect.

Excellent guesthouse
Thanks so much to Terry and his staff. They made my stay at Donnybrook Hall very comfortable. It is a lovely property, out of the way of the noise of the city but close enough to walk to the centre and still experience Dublin!

A great stay at Donnybrook Hall
An excellent stay, friendly staff and comfortable room. The hosts greeted me at check-in and served coffee. The hotel is a few miles outside center but has great bus service, also convenient for Bray. I loved my room a nice little annex overlooking the garden. Lots of nice shops and restaurants nearby and a clean and safe area. Thanks for making my stay great Donnybrook Hall I hope to return again.

Hotel was central to shops bars an restaurants. Quiet area at night. Buses to centre Dublin few minutes walk. Close to both the rds and the aviva for events and rugby matches. No meals including breakfast but no problems regarding that. Room was spacious and clean, bed super comfy. Host and staff warm an friendly. Definitely recommend staying at donnybrook Hall.

A Gem in Rough Sand
Staying at Donnybrook Hall was quite a treat. The owners Debbie and Terry are lovely people, and Martina (staff) was very friendly. The rooms are especially clean, and the bedding is super warm with an extra thick comforter. My room comes with an armoire, electric tea kettle, cup and saucer, and hair dryers; you can request one with a desk if need be. The area is also very safe. If one must walk around Dublin at night, here is your neighborhood. There are also tea shops and a few grocery stores within a very short walking distance. The city centre is right up R138. You can walk there in about 20 minutes. It may be shallow, but one of my favorite things about my stay is the state of the art bathroom and shower. Seriously, marble tiling—YAAS! If you need a place to stay in Dublin, Donnybrook Hall is the place to be.

MONEY HUNGRY HOTEL
Tried to cancel hotel reservation. Tried 3 times to no avail. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE and not at this hotel!! They are not understanding and it will be a waste of money if your travel plans change as hotel has no refundable reservations. Hotel is MONEY HUNGRY. There are TONES of great hotels in Dublin. Stay ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE. Horrible customer service.

Thank you for your custom. First of all at no point did you contact us to cancel your room. We would of 100% understood your situation as we have for many other guests including cancelling same day. We would never force anyone to stay with us not in a million years and would always give the option for the guest to contact the third party website they booked our place with and cancel the room for us to resell. Second of all you booked with us through EXPEDIA so to cancel a room you would have had to have contact with them for them to call us again at no point did this happen as we thoroughly investigated with Expedia and they also have no evidence of any phone calls or emails from yourself. I am unsure if you are mistaking other travel arrangements at another property with ours but again at no point did you contact ourselves or expedia via phone or email to cancel this reservation. Our reviews reflect on the great customer service that we offer to our guests and I would ask that you refrain from making defamatory comments towards a small family run property that runs their business for the love of it and not for making a quick buck. Terry the owner puts his heart and soul into being a fair man with all of his guests and offering a top quality service and would have had absolutely no problem should you have had contacted us to let us know your travel plans had changed so please I would urge you to double check this and provide us with evidence of when you tried to cancel as if it was done through expedia and you have this proof then of course we must investigate. beautiful guesthouse with lovely hosts. its a bit far from the city centre but the public buses take you there in like 10min (3€pp). rooms are warm, comfy and nicely decorated. there is a tesco express just right at the corner to the main road. kettle,tea&coffee provided in the room. breakfast excl.

Delightful
Donnybrook Hall is warm, cozy and clean. Terry was welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was delicious and I was given many options. Parking was an issue, I had to move my car several times. The walls are not soundproof, earplugs are recommend for light sleepers. The location was ideal for visiting my daughter at University College Dublin. I would definitely book here again if I return to Dublin.

Spotlessly clean, comfortable and personal service. Bedroom & house nicely decorated. On a narrow road so parking a little tricky. Wide choice for breakfast. Phone line down the day of our arrival so unfortunately we had to drive to the house to confirm our late arrival as requested on the website which lost us some time on the day.

Una graziosissima locanda a Dublino
Il B&B si presenta come una graziosissima struttura tipicamente irlandese subito appena fuori dal centro della città, nel quartiere di Donnybrook. Il quartiere è carinissimo, tranquillo, consiglio un giretto. La struttura è carinissima, confortevole e serve ottime colazioni! Il proprietario, Terry, vi farà sentire a proprio agio dandovi anche ottimi spunti per i vostri itinerari. Unica pecca della (nostra, non tutte) camera, era il bagno esterno , appena una rampa di scale sotto di noi, io personalmente lo trovo sempre molto scomodo. La zona è servitissima dagli autobus (la fermata è in fondo alla strada, 1 minuto a piedi) e anche dall’Airlink , che porta in aeroporto. Nel complesso ci tornerei e lo consiglierei assolutamente!!

An enjoyable stay
Comfortable room with all the basic necessities in place. Friendly owner and staff. Close to bus stop for buses that take you to city centre. While the DART station is slightly far away, it’s a nice 20-minute walk in the neighbourhood (and through a lovely little park). I was spoilt by the delicious breakfast every morning!
