Family vacation
Love hot tub, toys for granddaughter, games pinball and bubble hockey, space for family. Appreciated kitchen supplies and appliances as we prepared meals. Property manager Chris was very kind and helpful! Great time with our family, Thank you!

We are the dancers and families of the Diamonds team from North Dakota Ballet Company out of Grand Forks, ND. We lovingly refer to this place as "the cabin" and it has been a place of comfort, relaxation and bonding while competing in Duluth for a number of years now. Most of the girls who comprise this team are seniors in high school and graduating. The next generation is looking forward to getting "the cabin" with their teammates and families and our families have already started looking towards planning a reunion here. This is a special home away from home and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Duluth area.

Great for a Group!
We had 4 families stay for a weekend over the kids’ school’s spring break. We had 10 kids ranging from 9 to 16 and 8 adults. It was a blast! Enough space for everyone to sleep - the game room, sport court, hot tub, sauna and fun selection of board games kept everyone entertained that we never left the property for the entire stay! The kitchen is very nicely stocked with everything you need. The little beach house was a fun little hangout spot for the teens. Eric was very easy to communicate with before and during our stay. I can’t say enough positive things - we would absolutely stay again should the opportunity arise!

Nice Large Home
I was surprised to be immediately met by a caretaker that wanted me to park in different way as that was not disclosed. It now has been added to the listing description. He’s fine and was helpful, just talkative and surprise to run into. Overall, the house is well appointed and the owner was responsive to initial issues. A pile of kids and adults enjoyed the stay. Two bedrooms are very nice, two are very basic. The remainder of the house was nice. The outside “extra room” was unfurnished (no bedding) and cold. We ended up not using it, and although it made things tighter, it was fine. The kitchen is large and easy to use, a "butler panty" made it extra usable.

Hi Jeff, Thank you for the review. I am responding to clarify some things for future guests who may be reading this. I'm sorry that you did not find our home to be a five star rental - like most people who stay here: 1. Yes, there is a caretaker on site who lives in the apartment above the garage (which is not connected to the house). This is in our property description. He has been here for over 3 years and has passed a background check. He is a sweet and single older gentleman who helps our guests when anything comes up during their stay. We live in the Twin Cities and are not always readily available for immediate needs. He does have a full time job and is rarely seen or heard from during most of our guests' stays unless they need something. He will often greet new guests to introduce himself and let them know he is available if they need help. 2. The "extra room" is our beach house which has baseboard heat that needs to be turned on a few hours before arrival in the winter. When we know people want to use this space our caretaker will turn it on in advance of the stay. There is bedding out there but it is not "on the beds" because we never know if these spaces will be used - unless someone tells us in advance. Similar to a hotel pull out bed - they don't usually come with bedding already on them. If guests alert us to needing this space for sleeping we can make sure it is at a comfortable temperature and we can make the beds up for their stay. Otherwise it does take 2-3 hours to heat up in the winter and the beds are bare with bedding set aside. Eric

Girls getaway
Our group consisted of seven retired women. We all thought Pike Lake Lodge was gorgeous and very clean. The beds and even the rollout cot were comfortable. The kitchen and the butler pantry had everything we needed for cooking. The close location to Duluth and Superior made it easy to take some side trips. Chris, the on-site manager, was friendly and helpful. Speaking on behalf of my group, we highly recommend Pike Lake Lodge and will stay there again. A true destination retreat
Another great stay at this beautiful Minnesota cabin retreat. Our party of 12 enjoyed the Christmas holiday with plenty of room for puzzles, gaming, movie nights and more. The hot tub and sauna we well utilized. We had a few questions for the caretaker during our stay. He was responsive and ensured those knew how to fire up the sauna. The weather flicked electricity once tripping the hot tub electrical, but there were easy directions on the box to follow for the reset. The audio surround sound, gas fireplace and butler panty all added comfort. The guardians of the galaxy pingball machine became competitive - our family member can now boast the first place listing :) Thank for letting us enjoy this property. If was a true joy!

Great Duluth Spot
We stayed here with several families and we all had teens. House was clean, well appointed, and had a ton of amenities. We loved the sauna, and the teens had a great time with ping ping, air hockey, & pinball. Highly recommend.

Beautiful property!
We loved our stay! We were a large family from the Twin Cities looking to explore the North Shore. This home was in a perfect location, only minutes from many popular locations (Duluth Canal Park) as well as great proximity to major stores and restaurants if we needed any items we had forgotten. The home was exactly as pictured. Had a great library/toy room for the small kiddos, and ample of space for all to be together or have their own separate time to themselves. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the essentials we needed! My only regret is not being able to enjoy the property fully as we were also visiting other cities up north during our stay. Would certainly consider for future. Eric was a great host and was super responsive to all questions!

Great weekend at the lake
We absolutely enjoyed our time on the Pike Lake property. Beautiful lake, private dock and beach. The home is stunning and very well equipped. Lots of great hiking within 20 mile radius. Jay Cooke Park and Lake Superior scenic ride were excellent day excursions. Would highly recommend.

Perfect summer getaway!
We had a great time at the Pike Lake cabin! The place was beautiful and fully stocked. Slept our family of 11 comfortably. Lake was great, nice sandy area for the kids to play. So much fun, would definitely stay again!

Pike Lake Paradise
Our family enjoyed the 4th of July weekend at this VRBO. So much to do, so much room to gather, visit and sleep, such a well stocked kitchen with every gadget and utensil needed! The lake is clean and great for boating, tubing and fishing. We all give this property 5 stars!

What you see is what you get.
This VRBO is at least as good as the pictures you see on the website. We had 8 adults and 8 children for four days and had amenities that pleased everyone. Caretaker Chris was mostly invisible but helped with check in and with information. He sincerely wanted us to enjoy our stay. We did.

Family Vacation 2023

Wow! That was my husband's response when we drove in for our son's wedding weekend in the area...it was more beautiful than the photos and had everything we could've wanted. We were talking about booking a return vacation before we even looked at everything, and everyone wants to go back on a regular basis. Our only regret was we didn't book more days this time. We loved it and it was perfect for our large family!

Incredible Weekend Stay!!
We had such a wonderful experience for our Girls Weekend. The house & property are even more stunning than the pictures. Chris (property manager) was also great and very accommodating - especially during our winter stay, we would’ve been snowed in without him! Overall 10/10 will definitely return.

To often nowadays things turn out as the proverbial”to good to be true.” Well not only did this hit every mark mentioned in the listing, it was well beyond. Perfect winter getaway!
We loved our stay at this beautiful property! It is even better in person. The owner was very responsive to any questions I had. We spent the weekend in hot tub, sauna, and skiing on the lake. Perfect way to break up the winter and enjoy the outdoors a bit. Sleeping arrangements perfectly accommodated all of our guests, aged 17 months to 93 years!

Wonderful Cabin Retreat
We decided to go to the cabin over New Years and had the most incredible time. The cabin was beautiful, very clean and organized. Everything we needed was readily available. All of the cabinets and drawers labeled and organized for ease of use. We had a teenager, some toddlers and 2 infants with us and everyone enjoyed the stay. Plenty of board games and toys to keep the kids occupied. The sauna and jacuzzi was our favorite part of the cabin, we spent all of our evenings relaxing in what felt like a spa getaway.

Amazing winter wonderland
Such an amazing place to stay. It is as fantastic as the photos look. We had over 2 foot of snow, below 0F temperatures but lots of winter fun sledging, sauna and hot tubbing, fire pits and hot dogs, making ice rinks, exploring the area. Sadly too cold with wind chill for skiing for the kids but such a great time away. Lots of fun with basement games. Wonderful communication with the owner and on-site manager too. Looking forward to another stay!!

A beautiful home with plenty of room for our group of 14
Our family really enjoyed our stay.m in this beautiful home. Watching the sunset from the hot tub while the snow gently fell was a highlight. The sauna was amazing and everyone took a turn playing the pinball machine. The lower level game/ tv room complete with a bar was a fun spot to hang out and watch the Vikings game. This was a great spot for our large family with plenty of bedrooms and having multiple bathrooms was a definite plus. I would highly recommend this property.

Beyond Amazing!

After Covid delayed our son’s wedding for two years, we were looking forward to getting together with family and seeing our son get married. This property was met our needs better than anticipated. Without giving away the fun, we just kept discovering more and more little delights. We have a teenage girl and the boathouse was the perfect get-a-way for her while still being close. The sun coming up over the lake is breathtaking. Our family wants to make this a yearly destination. The insight manager was so pleasant and helpful.

Never going to forget this
My family and friends enjoyed your home some of my friends cried some tears they never thought they'd stay somewhere as nice as your place they were honored to be asked to come along on this trip. My father who has been fighting 7 years from cancer was my reasoning of taking a vacation and your place I will have memories to share for a lifetime of my father after he passes. Your home was very complete it had everything a person would need other than their own toothbrush. With that being said I would definitely love to come stay again and I have shared it with my friends who did not come and they want information so you may get some more people from Marshall / gent Minnesota coming to visit and staying at your place. And you were so right the beach house was the best place to stay I loved hearing the water splash up against the rocks in the morning. Thank you so much Eric and your wife.

Perfect Cabin, Perfect Location, Perfect Weather
We stayed here to celebrate my in-laws 40th wedding anniversary with all of their kids, spouses and grandkids. It was a memorable occasion and the cabin was beautifully appointed. Sipping coffee on the dock, chatting from the hammock, dinners on the deck and nights spent in the hot tub. We had everything we needed and then some. Thank you for such an amazing backdrop for our celebration.

Large, rambunctious family fun
Our large group (13) had a wonderful stay. The house and property suited our needs well. One had some mobility issues and was comfortably accommodated on the main floor. There was so much to keeps us entertained. The swimming area is well kept. The hot tub was used daily. We tried the sauna too (loved it). Of course, we would have loved to have been closer to Lake Superior but the drive to Duluth was easy and did not keep us from going into town. The property is close to multiple grocery stores and gas stations. And the layout of the house allowed us to be together as well as separate as needed.

Wonderful vacation
We had a great time at this cabin. Everything was as described. It was very clean and well equipped with pretty much everything we needed. We had a couple questions and the owner was very prompt on getting back to us. The only negative thing I can think of is the internet is not very good and the TV in the master bedroom didn’t work most of the time. The paddle boat was broke when we got there but we were able to fix it and the kids really enjoyed it. Overall we loved the place and made some lasting memories as a family. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to the Duluth area!

What a time we had!
This home had it all! It was beautiful, wonderful beds, perfect kitchen and deck, gathering spaces to spread out, a boat house, dock and beach, kayaks and an awesome sauna! We loved our time together and feel so lucky to have stayed here. It will not disappoint!

Beautiful House
We had a great time at Pike Lake! The house was beautiful and had many features. We really enjoyed the hot tub, sauna, kayaks and paddle boat. The fishing off the dock was surprisingly good early in the morning. Kids caught 10+ fish in a hour. One thing to improve was the water heater. (might want to consider a bigger water heater or an additional water heater) With all the lake time and number of bathrooms, we had to time our showers so that we didn't have cold water. Also 2 of the showers had handles that were installed backwards with Hot being Cold and Cold being Hot. This made it also hard for kids to regulate the temperatures of the showers. Overall, this was a great property at a beautiful lake! We would recommend!

We didn’t want to leave!
Beautiful log home right on Pike Lake. Many inside amenities for my grandkids (pin ball, ping pong, etc.). We were fortunate to have sunny days to enjoy the lake with the provided kayaks and paddle boat! Fire out at the water’s edge was our farewell evening with s’mores.
