    Dit is een speciale omgeving met weelderig volwassen landschap. Dit huis zit vol met karakter en de locatie kon niet beter zijn! 15 minuten naar het centrum van Durango en 15 minuten naar het skigebied Purgatory.

This was an amazing property close to the creek and very well furnished. Enjoyed coffee on the deck listening to the creek and birds. Very well maintained and overall awesome experience.

Beautiful, peaceful property. Great spot for cycling!Our only struggle was accessing check in instructions with no WiFi in the area. We were able to call for assistance and once in the house we had WiFi.

Beautiful view of the river from a cozy deck. Cabin was well equipped with anything you need to prepare meals. Comfy bed. Nice property with a short drive to Durango.

The place was exactly as described. It was so comfortable and the views off the deck were so beautiful, we had a hard time leaving to explore the area. The planting beds around the main house and the cabin were full of pretty bulbs and greenery. The only thing they could do better is to boost the wifi. It was a little week on the south side of the cabin, causing us to lose signal more than once. Be sure to visit the little farm stand in front of the community center. The tomatoes are HUGE and very tasty. Don't forget to visit Mesa Verde, the Hot Springs (even in summer) and Chimney Rock. All close by. We will be back!

Fall stay

This is our second time to stay at the Cottage on the Creek and it is perfect for a quiet relaxed stay in the Durango. After a day in Durango we love to enjoy a late afternoon on the deck with a drink and a good book.

Cottage on the creek

This property was terrific! Great views and very comfortable with a well stocked kitchen. It was peaceful and the owners are master gardeners so we felt we were staying in a Monet landscape garden. The owners were so hospitable.

Relaxing Cottage

Our stay was completely enjoyable and relaxing. We enjoyed the back deck overlooking the creek every morning with coffee and every evening with a glass of wine. Everything was comfortable and very clean. It was about a 20-25 minute drive into Durango but worth it for all the quiet and beauty. So many activities in the area to enjoy.

Cottage on the Creek is fabulous

Sweet cottage, well appointed, with spectacular views. Very peaceful and relaxing. The yard is full of flowers that invite hummingbirds and butterflies. Easy access to downtown and great restaurants. Our personal favs were Michelle's, 636 Main, and Cream Bean Berry for artisanal ice cream.

Quiet and peaceful

If you are looking for something quiet and beautiful then this is your place. We just loved the sound of the creek and overlooking it on the back porch was a great way to end the day. There was a lot to do for outdoor activity and the owner was so nice and helpful. I was very thankful for his hospitality and knowledge of the areas. There is no negative aspects to this house. It's clean comfortable peaceful and quiet. I loved it and would definitely stay there again and again 💕Kathy

We loved our stay. However: a six inch paper sign at the road not facing the right direction is not helpful. A number by the drive needs to be posted! We drove back and forth searching Must haves - A knife that will cut fruit, meat or chicken A can opener that works

Our Bit of Heaven on Earth

We come here now two years in a row. The cottage is so quaint and the setting so peaceful and lovely. We had only to bring our own groceries for the week as the cottage is perfectly equipped with everything we needed. The bed is comfortable and management is quick to respond if there are any problems. We've spent two days Jeeping in the high country and two days fishing( very successfully) at both Lakes Haviland and Molas. The leaves were at their peak this year making Last Dollar Road, Owl Creek Pass, the Million Dollar Highway and the San Juan Skyway particularly beautiful. Truly this place is a bit of heaven on earth!

Wonderful setting & surroundings, with a very nice cottage attached.

We enjoyed this cottage & the property so much! This was just what we were looking for,& just “as advertised “. The Cottage itself was not a “plush” house, or a resort-like space, but it did have very nice accommodations. Really a very cozy & comfortable space, with wonderful surroundings…from the large deck, mountains visible all around, the great flowing creek located just below the outer area of the deck,& a beautiful lake across from that area, on the adjacent property. Really well cared for grounds around the cottage as well. It was not only a relaxing house, but also peaceful & quiet all the while. We enjoyed it,& would recommend it to anyone. Mike & Margaret (& Poko🐕 too!)

Paradise!

Okay, first, I don't want to share just how fabulous this home away from home is because I want it available whenever I need a bit of peace in this slice of paradise. That's my highest accolade! A precious place that's babbling creek, lush gardens and carpet of green grass immediately inspired me to exhale and relax. The cottage & wrap around deck has everything needed. This comfy, and respite from the crowds is a wonderful location to commune with nature. It's a home base for fabulous hiking and exploring Durango, the joys of the Million Dollar winding highway, Silverton, and a refreshing nap after a day of exploring and falling in love with Colorado. I love this place. The current owners are the icing on the cake because they are the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. I'm in love.

Not as expected but still nice

Overall, I would give this place a 4 star rating. We booked it for our honeymoon to have privacy and peace. The cabin was beautiful and the creek was pleasantly close. We were unaware that it was part of someone else's property and that people would be on the property every single day we were there. Even after reaching out to the rental agency, people were in our rented space including the yard space next to the cabin and on the deck of the cabin. The internet was poor but not the renter's fault.We were dissappointed that we could not fish in the creek due to it being someone else's private property and that was not made clear until after booking the rental. These were our only issues. Otherwise, it was a very nice place to get away for a week.

Charming Cottage with a great patio

We stayed here in 2022 and loved it so stayed again this summer. The patio is wonderful and we used the grill, which was nice. It is located perfectly for us as we are golfers. VERY close to Dalton Ranch and convenient to Glacier. A short drive into town as well. There is a small grocery store very close and the City Market is a short drive. The kitchen is well supplied, although we couldn't find any baking sheets. The WIFI didn't work per instructions so I was given a different way to get WIFI, which was not reliable. The WIFI situation needs to be looked into. We noticed that the mattress is starting to slump in the middle and should be replaced. We got warm every night while sleeping and had trouble getting the AC program to stay cooler at night for us.

beautiful views

The cottage is as described in the VRBO listing. The view from the deck is great. The cottage is comfortable. We met the owner Clark who lives next door when he was gardening and he is terrific and accommodating. There are grassy areas for your dog. Five stars and highly recommended except for the management company. I could give several examples, but just three so this doesn't get too long: 1) I called and asked if we could get into the cottage half an hour early (at 3:30) if empty and was told yes, it was ready, but the charge to get in early (even less than half an hour) was $50. 2) The management company requires renters to sign an extremely one-sided contract (in addition to VRBO's rules) long after the reservation when it is inconvenient to change plans. 3) The email with check-out instructions said to set the AC to 58 degrees - we were there in late July. I could go on.

Durango stay

This is the most relaxing location for a vacation. We loved exploring the area during the day and then relaxing on the patio each afternoon. The sound of the creek was wonderful.

Even better than the pics and description!!!

We loved our time at Cottage on the Creek! A cozy, clean, updated little house in an idyllic setting. So restful and lovely, it was hard to head out each day to see the sights. (But we did, because Durango area is great!) Wish we lived close enough to book time here a couple times a year.
