The Good: Ample room for 5+ adults Hot water was extremely hot The Bad: No hot tub as advertised. Dishwasher was broken. Discovered note inside when we went to use it. Microwave carousel not working Rodent infestation - mice droppings everywhere. Broken handle for shower Overpriced for what you're getting. Furniture was rundown. Landline didn't work.

We got rid of the mice problem after art left And I told him about the fact that the dishwasher didn't work and the boro forced me to remove the hot tub. In return for him accepting those issues, we agreed that I would return $400 of his fee--and as we agreed AFTER he had already seen the place and even stayed there for a day I did give him the $400 back. As for the price,. eagelsmere is a very upscale town. Other homes as big as mine rent for twice my normal rate -- and in arts case almost three times as high due to the rebate I gave him. In fact, the only hotel in the town charges about as much for a 12 x 11 foot room as I do for a whole house. ,The twp only forced me to remove the hot tub a few weeks before he came (and long after he booked) but I am going to remove it and a dishwasher from my amentities list before the next season (no one comes to eageslmere from new years til lat march) i I can't get permission to return my hot tub to use anda if I don't get the dishwasher fixed

Disappointing experience
House was dirty. kitchen counters had spilled coffee, food crumbs, coffee grounds and mice droppings. Cobwebs everywhere, ceilings. windows, floors, around the cords plugged into the outlets. Used razors and tooth brushes in both bathrooms. No shower curtain in first floor bath resulting in the floor getting soaked when shower was used. Bedding smelled dirty. Fridge had used food stuff, including an open partial stick of butter on a plate. Toaster had slice of burnt bread in it. Coffee pot had moldy remnants of coffee in it. Coffee mugs on deck with moldy liquid. Outdoor trash was full with no room for our trash and owner expected us to take it from the top floor to ground level and then to the end of the driveway for pick up. Flooring on first floor had water damage and the planks had screws in it that stuck up above the surface causing a safety hazard. Drawers in the kitchen had mice droppings in them. Live mice running up the stairs and into the kitchen while we were at the kitchen table. Several safety issues including lack of lighting at the front door, hand rails not strong enough to use because they only had brackets at the ends and no support in the middle and in some places they were flush against the walls so they could not be held. Hot tub doesn't exist. We paid a pet fee, however our dog passed away before the trip. When I requested a refund of the pet fee as well as the cleaning fees owner told me he would only return them if I gave him a 5 star review.

Eagles mere rental
Location of property very nice. Could have been cleaned better but the owner did let us know that his cleaning lady canceled before we got there. But over all very nice location in the woods.

The Wilderness
Ben was a very accommodating host. He met us on sight at check-in, showed us around the property and gave us his phone number in the event we needed to contact him for anything. There is a great bar-b-q area and hang out area right outside the front door. The house is in the middle of nowhere, great for rest and relaxation.

although I forgot to mention this on the vrbo site, the reason the price is literally half that of other similarly sized houses in the area is that I didn't fully finish the first floor (the second floor is a high end modular). I didn't finish it because I didnt expect that my low price would get me so many visitors that my own family hardly had time to visit. So yes the trim and similar things on the first floor were not fully finished -- but I will do it during the winter when no one is there so next year it will be fully finished. But as the guy who installed the modular (and does this almost every day in different parts of the country), two realtors and others have confirmed, the location is a "million dollar location" because it is one of the few homes anywhere that seems to be in the wilderness (no homes within sight and no homes within ten miles in one of two directions) but is actually only a half mile (in the other direction) from the center of a very upscale unpretentous community where homes do sell for over a million dollars.
