'Had a lovely 2 night stay in granary cottage. Set in lovely private grounds. The cottage was very spacious, clean, eqipped with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Owners are very friendly and helpful and very prompt with any request you may have. We would definitely stay there again!'

'Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space.'

'Amazing, last minute stay. We booked a 2 night weekend stay (last minute). From the moment of booking, Gail was attentive, helpful, friendly and immediately put us at ease. Excellent directions were given, and upon arrival we were very pleasantly surprised. We bagged a real bargain and everything was perfect with the cottage from start to finish. We used this cottage as a base to get to York (one of the busiest weekends due to Christmas Market), and although a little further out - the weekend...

Maybe a baking sheet, smaller saucepan and a baking dish would have been useful - not a big deal!Lovely to be next to the beck, loads of birds to watch and interesting places to visit.Drive from The Tan Inn to Hawes not for the faint hearted, narrow and very steep.Noticed a funny mark in the oven which I couldn't clean so emailed the office and someone came the next day to clean it - excellent.
