Bucolic bliss (but with WiF) ☺️
Absolutely beautiful, quiet farm location. Lodgings are scrupulously clean and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was bigger than my bedroom! Lovely host gave us a quick tour of the property, and we met a 2-week old filly. We will stay here again!

Fantastic spot to get away from city life!
We had the best time here! Drove here from Chicago for a weekend and had so much fun touring the property & riding horses. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. The property manager Denise & her father Ed were so awesome and communicative, we had a great time. Nearby there are some fun parks to go to & we drove to Iowa and went hiking. There’s also small bars and restaurants in the area but we weren’t a huge fan of those options, so we had brought food & there are a few kitchen appliances that you can use which is so helpful. It was such a fun & relaxing time & if I ever get the chance to come back, I will!

Girls weekend trip
Our stay was more than we hoped for. We relaxed in the studio, read, watched TV, used the amazing tub. We also took full advantage of Cowboy Cody’s offer to take us on an ATV ride, a tour of the property, horse riding lessons, and shooting. He treated us like family, and we are so grateful for his generosity. Our weekend was lovely, and his property is beautiful.

We picked this place not fully reading the description so that was our fault, however the room was not at all sound proof, we could hear dogs barking until almost 11:30 at night and the room was attached directly to the living spaces of others. The room itself was very nice, but felt Like we were staying in a bedroom at our parents home. Just wish it was more secluded and private. We did not sleep well due to noises from others outside, dogs, and others on the other side of the wall. We ended up going home and not staying the second night. Again our fault for not reading more into it. Not at all secluded or for a couple getaway. More for a family getaway.

Calm & Beautiful
We absolutely loved this property! Cody was so welcoming and provided us with everything we needed. I was a bit apprehensive at first that the listing is technically connected to his house but there was no reason to be uncomfortable at all. He was willing to be as involved or uninvolved as we wanted. We took a hike or two on the path by the cabin, rode Hot Rod the horse a little bit, cooked all our meals on the grill, and were able to relax in the massive bathtub each night. Truly the perfect getaway from the city life in Chicago. A wonderful experience and we plan on coming back in the future! Thanks for everything! :)

A Rural Stay in the Driftless
The tub and shower are incredible, the view is lovely, and the kitchenette was great for two people cooking a handful of meals. Reliable wifi, a large tv with streaming channels, and a comfortable bed (studio apartment style in the same room as the kitchen and living room). You do share walls with the owner and the other suite is downstairs, so if you're sensitive to sounds/smells be aware. Very friendly owner.

I enjoyed my 2 nights, everything as advertised. The owner Ed lives on the property and I enjoyed chatting with him and learning some history of Eastman and the area, and his hosptality.

City Escape
Loved the ranch property! Stay was great! We were greeted by Mr. Cody and his three sweet dogs. They made our stay very enjoyable with horseback lesson, gun shooting and an ATV ride. Fed hot rod the horse apples by hand. Most gentle horse I’ve ever been with. Super fun time.

Home away from home
We took an extended weekend away for our anniversary. We were looking for something quiet and relaxing, and that is exactly what we got. From the moment we got there we felt extremely welcomed. Ed was the best host we have had at a VRBO yet! He was determined to make sure we took advantage of all he had to offer on the ranch! We will definitely be back, with friends this time!

Very Beautiful and Relaxing Stay
My wife and I were overdue for a vacation and this place (Cody's Ranch) was perfect!! Ed Cody is a fantastic, helpful and very accommodating host. It was a beautiful room with a view of the rolling hills. We trailered our motorcycle up there and toured the backroads. We also stopped at local historical sites and points of interest. Ask Ed about activities and attractions, he's a wealth of knowledge of the area. Our only regret is that we were only there for two full days. We're already looking forward to going back next year, going to stay longer this time! Thanks again Ed and Denise.

Great quiet, country setting.
We found Cody’s ranch to be nestled in a quiet countryside . Our stay was everything we needed. We attended the Prairie Dog Bluesfest and explored the area on our travels there. Ed was a super host and gave us great tips about the area. Cooking outside was an awesome experience and gave us a feeling for the outdoors. Thank you for enhancing our experience of the Prairie du Chien area.

A lot of fun and relaxing!
This get-away was just what the doctor ordered. The studio was spacious, lovely and had a small but efficient galley kitchen, which was perfect for us since we cooked our meals there and on the outdoor grill. Farmer/rancher Ed was very accommodating and entertaining. He took my father, who is almost 100, for a tour of the farm, to see the animals and beautiful scenery on the land. My dad loved it; it was the highlight of the trip. We are dog lovers and enjoyed the company of Ed's Chesapeake retrievers. During the toured along the Mississippi River, saw charming towns and serene riverscapes.

This property was exactly what we were looking for. The natural beauty of the drive to and from was breathtaking. The suite we stayed in was very tranquil. I am sorry to hear about your concern with the curtains. We try to provide a great experience at the ranch. We are transparent with all the pictures and information. The curtains in the bedroom are burgundy. The curtains in the bathroom are tan. The property is located fairly remotely on 215 acres. I will work towards addressing more coverage in the bathroom. We also need to work to replace the western artwork statue that the guest broke.

Simple and sweet, but not private
The accommodations themselves are quite lovely, possibly the nicest tub and shower I have ever seen, with a large caveat. The wall separating you from the bunk house where the owner lives has no sound barrier so it did not feel private, as we were awoken by barking dogs and a loud TV multiple times. It is a great stay if you would like to interact with the owners and partake with the farm activities. It is not great if you would like a peaceful getaway with your partner or if anyone in your party has a night shift sleep schedule.

I am sorry to hear about your concern. We have now installed some sound barrier between the unit. There was an error by property manager with TV. It has been addressed and should not happen again.

My wife and I came here for our 1st anniversary. The property is beautiful and the view from the patio is pure Wisconsin splendor. The bathroom was spacious and the shower and tub were great amenities.

Couples getaway
We came to the ranch for a nice couples getaway and got so much more. Shooting practice with Ed. Late night chats by the fire. And horse riding with cowboy Eddy. He was a great host and had some fun stories. We had the upper unit which was perfect for the 2 of us! Can't wait to get out there again with the kiddos!

Thank you for visiting Codys Ranch. It is really unique that you got to be there when a calf was born out on the ranch and you got to witness him taking his first steps. Wow! In regards to the unit, it is advertised as 3 units in this building. Wrangler Outlaw has its own gated entry way, a smart lock box for private entrance, and a locked door between Wrangler Outlaw and the Bunkhouse. We are thankful you chose to visit Codys Ranch.

Hi. Thank you kindly for the nice review. Ed enjoyed having you as guests. Wrangler Outlaw was never planning to have cooking capabilities. But we add the grill/griddle combo and all the cooking essentials as a bonus. Eventually possibly we will convert an area to kitchenette. We look forward to hosting you again.

Great place to stay!
This was a wonderful place to stay. Even though there is no formal kitchen, the rental is well-equipped for cooking on the grill (dishware, silverware, grill utensils, napkins, etc.), and the grill can easily be pulled to right outside the doors, so there's minimal shuttling. There is a little kitchen table area set up in the very large bathroom room with all the cooking tools and appliances in a closet in that room. Ed was extremely friendly and kind and attentive to our needs, as was Denise. The space is well-represented in the pictures and is laid out in a good manner. We had our own deck (separated from the rest of the deck by a gate) with a beautiful view over the ranch. Overall I would definitely recommend a stay here!
